55, Rockford, ILI'm young at heart, kind and quiet but not totally shy, like to go slow and steady when I meet people. I like doing things that entertain the mind- chess, card games, video games too. I have a laid back kind of attitude, but with strong emotional feelings - I enjoy thinking that the glass is half full. I stick to the mottm "life is good" belief.
63, Gardner, ILI absolutely love spending time with my grandkids. The younger ones come running for a hug every time I stop by and will not let me leave without a hug and kiss. The older ones still think it's cool to go with me no matter where I'm going or for what. They will even invite friends to go with us. I am the director of our religious education and also teach our 5th graders. This is rewarding watching these little minds get their heads around being Catholic and how good there lives are and will be if they follow. I have also been blessed to be able to volunteer at a various different groups. I can also strike up a conversation with about any one. Just tonight in the check out line at a grocery store I had a conversation with the cashier about her volunteering to build houses in Haiti. I didn't know this girl, but she was really proud to share this with me.
58, Arlington Heights, ILI am passionate about my faith I look forward to nurturing a long personal relationship with the right person. My father was the biggest influence in my life he passed away 24 years ago.
33, Palos Hills, ILI'm passionate about making sure that I live a life that God would be proud of. I care deeply about speaking out for those that cannot speak for themselves and try to do this at my job as much as possible. My family has had a great impact on my life. My values and my view of the world came from both the struggles and the opportunities I experienced growing up. In my free time, I enjoy learning (reading the Bible, researching health policy, attending salsa dance instructions, traveling as much as I can, or having late night philosophical debates with friends) . On a lighter note...I love to laugh...going to a live comedy show is always fun...participating in activities that really should only be for Kids-I recently heard there is a place where adults can jump on trampolines for hours (very excited) ..or trying out places like Space Golf are all nights that I would absolutely love.
43, Chicago, ILI enjoy podcasts, watching documentaries and independent films, exercising, and other things I can do with my kids around. When they go to their Dad's, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to thrift stores, dinner dates, etc. I am passionate about healthy parenting and family dynamics, and about building a stronger relationship with God. I somehow do not have many Catholic friends and want to become more engaged in my faith community.

55, Chicago, ILMy name is Dan and I'm a recent convert to Catholicism. I was received into the faith at the Easter Vigil of 2011 and I will say that my life has done a 180 degree turn around; from being moribund to feeling joy and knowing that a loving God wants what is best for us.
53, Belleville, ILGreetings! Recently single and missing like-minded companionship, I decided to try this forum. I'm not a black-or-white Catholic, but consider myself more spiritual on a daily basis. An inspirational colleague (a fiery, mature Sister at a university I once worked) would describe her beliefs as "Catholic with a small 'c' " - that inclusive stance and her progressive nature always resonated with me.

33, Springfield, ILI most look forward to the small things in life: getting a pedicure with my sister, spending time at choir practice with my friends, watching Cubs games with my dad, snuggling with my Goddaughter, and proper use of the Oxford comma. I have spent a lot of my life doing service work, including two years in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. Those years changed the way I viewed God and the world. I've recently been involved in parish activities that have had more influence in my life and my faith than I intended-in the best possible way. I'm looking forward to growing in that, possibly with a partner moving forward.
