73, Oelwein, IAI am a widow, my husband passed away in May 2008 of Lou Gerigs(ALS) disease. I have 4 children, 2boys, 2 girls, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, I would say I enjoy the warmer temps so I try to go to Tx. in the winter. I rent a place for 3-4 months. It is fun on the gulf coast, so much to see and do. I like to fish and go boating or jet skiing. I like to watch the Hawkeyes. I enjoy the Chicago Cubs and Bears too. I like to do my own yard work when possible. I own my own home and I like to keep it updated and of course clean. I am not a fanatic but I am orderly. I would enjoy meeting someone who enjoys be outside in the warmer temps, doing gardening and lawn work when needed. I like to travel but not wanting to do long distant relationship. Driving distant only.
65, Dubuque, IAI would like to meet a guy with a good sense of humor who also has a serious thoughtful side; someone who surprises me by answering the question...does everlasting "unconditional" love really exist? I am a jazz/torche/blues singer who loves & sings all types of music. I'm an intelligent, deep thinker with a wacky sarcastic comedic side. I'm a sponge; interested in the arts and all aspects of life. I like conspiracy theory, psychology, spy movies and I'm kind of a news hound. I am a very sensual woman who is a lady. I look 10 years younger than my age and some of my best friends are 10 years younger than me. I am told I'm pretty. I try to be as honest as I can in my life. My faith has brought me through some of the worst times in my life, so would want someone who also has a deep faith.
61, Marshalltown, IAI'm a country girl at heart and enjoy most anything of a domestic nature, cooking, entertaining, gardening, decorating and enjoying the outdoors and a cozy home. I'm fun-loving, witty, caring, sensitive and an incurable romantic. I love spending time with family and friends, love to dance and socialize as well as spending quiet times at home. I'm a mother of two grown, married children and have 8 beautiful grandchildren. I like to travel when I have the opportunity and look forward to having more time for that in retirement, as well as volunteering and a few more home projects. But although I look forward, I live life in the present and find enjoyment in, and am grateful for, all blessings, no matter how big or small. I've always considered my faith one of the biggest blessings.
60, Ossian, IAPassionate about life and being in the moment! I look forward waking up each morning with a smile on my face thanking God for being alive and well, knowing another new day is in front of me...ready to explore and experience more in life and what is in store. What better way then to enjoy this with the "love of my life!" People most influential in my life? Pope Francis, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Mandela, Princess Diana and last but not least my wonderful loving father who passed away of cancer. He was a special "light" in my life and I am very thankful for the love, respect, compassion and honor he gave to my mother and siblings. As others always shared, "Karla, your father was a true "Gentlemen's Gentleman" who was highly respected and yet humble in so many ways". It was such a joy seeing my parents so much "in love" every single day and something I had always dreamed of having in my life. For leisure time I enjoy spending precious moments with family, especially my children and my new baby granddaughter. I always look forward to traveling home at Christmas and during the summer months to spend precious time with them. I am so thankful for email, Facetime and other social media while I am away during the school year! I also enjoy the great outdoors, walking/running and of course with living and working in The Netherlands biking is a must. My greatest passion however is horseback riding as I miss having a horse to call my own. Thankfully I fulfill that passion through my daughter as when I am home stateside we manage to ride together. I also enjoy the arts, music, concerts, movies, visiting museums/tourist attractions and traveling of course as well as enjoying a fine wine and cooking. I am charismatic and easy to please as friends have shared!!
78, Traer, IAI enjoy walking, bicycling, playing cards, listening to good music, going to plays and spending time with family and friends. My Catholic faith is important to me and has been a big influence in my life. I have a granddaughter who is playing college basketball and enjoy watching her compete, as well as all of the Iowa college teams, especially the Hawkeyes. My husband and I had 54+ years together before he passed from cancer over 5 years ago. He loved to tease me and I loved to make him laugh, even if it was at me. They were good years for the most part. We raised 4 boys and 1 girl and they have given me 14 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. I love to spend time with them, but they have their own lives as I have mine. I enjoy an occasional adult beverage, either beer or a glass of wine and an evening at home or out with friends. Most of all, I love to travel and believe in all of life the journey is as important as the destination. As of 10/2016, my granddaughter has graduated college so my winters are going to be filled with more travel and adventures. I am looking forward to zip-lining sometime soon. Also would like to kayak and/or canoe more.
60, Cedar Rapids, IAI am very passionate about people, especially young adults. Mentoring and giving back are a strong motivators for me. I love to travel and to learn more about people and their cultures. I'm more of a museum person than a beach bum. Although, people watching is interesting no matter where you are. I love music but my taste is eclectic, from Pavarotti to Pitt Bull and Christmas music can't start soon enough to suit me. If I do get some leisure time, I like to go to the movies or spend it with family and friends over a great meal.
74, Cedar Rapids, IASerenity-At this point in my life I strive for and really enjoy a sense of well being as in-maybe the simple things like a beautiful view, music, pretty flowers, a good movie, interesting conversation and my very favorite...laughter. Summers in Iowa and winters in the south give me the best of both worlds. Still, life alone after a long and happy marriage is lonely. I enjoy a glass of wine on the deck or patio with friends. By nature, I'm pretty conservative, however I survived a mile-long zip-line at speeds of 70 plus MPH. Owning a classic Mustang is on my bucket list. I'm interested in meeting someone who shares my interests as I share their interests.
69, Anamosa, IALove of life and companionship are a starting point. I am a self-employed (semi-retired) business owner and do a lot of volunteering. Knights of Columbus takes a lot of my time.
