I am an easy going kind of guy that isn't afraid to work hard, or play hard. I am more of a social type and like to keep in touch with the people that are important to me. And I am always open to meet new people, I believe everyone has something to offer.

First of all, I am CATHOLIC. The Catholic faith and traditions are very important to me. I belong to a fantastic parish and we are like a family. I recently switched jobs from being a teacher of 2 year olds to working at a hotel. Too many years of teaching 2's had made me lose part of my mind (only kidding). I love children and will miss that job ALOT. I can get my fix of children with my best friend-she and her husband have 8. I also teach CCD to and just this year graduated to teaching the 1st Communion kids from being with the 4 & 5 year olds.I was nervous about making the switch to the big kids, but it was truly a blessing. God always knows what he is doing when we get challenged and say yes. And as I mentioned I belong to a fantastic parish with lots of big familes. Friends, family and children are very important to me. I have 2 older brothers, a niece, a nephew and a great nephew and as of July 7th, 2012 a great niece who is very cute. They all live a distance from me so I don't get to see them often, that may change as my niece has just relocated to Iowa. I love my family very much. I am very grateful to have made wonderful friends where I live who are like family.. I was lucky enough to see Pope John Paul 2 at World Youth Day in Denver which was a unique experience and has it's own share of miracles to go with it. I am so glad I took the opportunity to go to Denver. I have reached the point in my life where I can honestly say I am very happy just to be me especially since I took on the challenge to lose weight and have lost 50 pounds as of July 7, 2012!!
  • Tim, 42 from Des Moines, IA

Hi, my name is Tim. My primary interests are in the area of music and theology. I play bassoon in the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra and have a Master's degree in music performance from the University of Iowa. I am also an adjunct teaching artist at Drake University and play in a woodwind quintet as well as various other groups. For the last several years I have been studying theology at the University of Notre Dame in the summers. I will soon have a Master's degree in theology. I do work a day job for a financial company. I was born and raised in Des Moines, Ia. At one time I was discerning a call to religious life and spent a year in a Benedictine monastery. Monastic and contemplative spirituality are a heavy influence in my life. I hope to work for the Church at some point in the future, but I am also open to further possibilities in music as well. My general personality is quiet and thoughtful. I am always more apt to listen rather than to speak, but once I am comfortable with someone, I have no problem opening up.

I wasn't always a practicing Catholic and actually wasn't anything close to being a Christian. But because of the prayers by my family and others, God eventually drove me to my knees and I now consider myself a very devout Catholic. God does indeed work in mysterious ways! Jesus Christ is a very important part of my life now and always will be. I've been settled down for years but have been putting off seeking out a serious relationship which is what I'm looking for. But I can be patient and see what happens. I don't want to date divorced women. Divorce can be tragic and I have sympathy for anyone that has to go thru that. I was a past president of our local parish Society of St. Vincent de Paul for 12 years. Seven years ago, I was exploring a vocation with a Benedictine Religious Community with just regular visits to the monastery while keeping my full time job and life. I decided that I wasn't ready to give up on ever being married. The vocational director there was very supportive and said that marriage was possibly the vocation that God was steering me to. I trust that God will guide me to where He wants me. My Catholic faith is the most important thing in my life and I take it very seriously. I'm not looking to waste time on "part time" or "cafeteria Catholics". Everything we need to know about our faith is in the Catholic Catechism. I'm currently trying to learn to be a more humble person. It's a daily effort; might even say it's a cross to bear dealing with certain people. Aside for all this serious stuff, I do have a good sense of humor; like to kid around and always willing to laugh at myself when I make dumb mistakes. I'm not a real outgoing type person. I like the simple things in life and would just enjoy sharing my time with someone special. I like outdoor stuff, I run, workout, and like just going on a long walk. I'm an extremely handy type person and can work on and fix almost anything. I'm not an office type person that can wear a suit all week. Nothing at all wrong with that, just not for me. I don't shy away from manual labor, it's good for the soul. Also not a materialistic type person either; just so many things in life we just don't need to posses. My profile lists me from Des Moines, but I'm actually from a small town about 30 miles from Des Moines and still live in that small town.

First of all, I DID NOT VOTE FOR TRUMP AND WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYONE WHO DID. Now that thats out of the way... Currently working within the health insurance industry getting families enrolled in the Hawk-I program. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in History and Political Science from Iowa State University and an Associate from Kirkwood Community College. Raised Catholic and Catholicism is ingrained into my personality. I'd consider myself a progressive, yet old fashioned when it comes to personal courtesy and respect. I have a loving family who I talk with all the time and get to see too infrequently and friends who I also depend on for a good laugh. My latest thing, I've given up on soda and drink a lot of iced green tea :) I am looking for a woman who can be a partner and a friend... and maybe more.

I would like to think I know when to take myself seriously and when to have fun. My faith, family, friends, and career are important to me. A lot of my free time is spent playing golf, however, I do enjoy other activities such as working out, bowling, reading, and heading out to see movies or some live music.

  • Micah, 34 from Des Moines, IA
    34, Des Moines, IA
My name is Micah. I appreciate good conversation; in fact, I can always tell when a good relationship is going to happen because it starts with a great conversation that usually leaves me saying, "that doesn't happen every day." In my free time, I enjoy exercising, working on business and community projects, and spending time with the fam and friends. I also try to plan one adventure a month. The definition of "adventure" is a loose one...anything from your classic skydiving to skipping town for a few hours to a home project...just something to make me see things from a new perspective and feel a little more alive than I might have otherwise. Bigger adventures are great toonothing beats traveling outside the US. Doing so helps me see things anew and stay centered with my place in the world. The people I meet are the best. The quality most important to me is warmth...warmth of personality, warmth of care for others, warmth toward oneself. I think so many other qualities are wrapped up in this one, but this is my base desire in a partner. I'm a very kind man, focused on doing good for those in my life and learning all I can along the way. I'd really like to find a kind, spunky and confident partner to share in life's adventures. Someone who can challenge me and who I can mutually support. I may contact you and, of course, you may contact me. Either way, I look forward to the conversation!
