I am in a new chapter in my life and hoping to find friendship that might grow into something deeper. If not friends are always great to have. My faith is very important to me. A relationship that helps each of us grow in our relationship with God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is my desire. My family, parish and schools helped lay the foundation of faith that has been a a guide through many experiences, both consoling and desolate. I remember hearing that doubt can be a sign of faith. Music and art have been powerful ways that have communicated God's mysterious presence. From an early age the Scriptures have fascinated me. I've long wondered what they can mean, at times reassuring while also quite challenging. These are the things that I'd hope would guide my relationships, my actions and ultimately my life as a disciple.

My description of myself. I am an Irishman, a Catholic, and I take pleasure in the little things in life! I enjoy Cardinal baseball, golf, music and spending time with my kids(only 3 girls still at home). I believe every moment is to be enjoyed.(I feel it's important to get out of my comfort zone) I cherish my time with my kids and am blessed with a great family and friends. I feel everyone I have contact with has been an influence on me, either positive or negative. I try to be a positive influence on everyone I'm in contact with. My perfect weekend would include a round of golf, a casual lunch, a Cardinal baseball game, a great dinner and some awesome music. I also enjoy taking time to relax.. On a cold day I could sit in my recliner read a book or watch a movie. A few to many cold days this year.

I've been a registered dietitian since 2008. Most of my day is spent motivating people to eat well and be active. For 6 years I worked in a Diabetes Education clinic in La Crosse, WI; I got burned out working much longer days than scheduled, so decided to look for other jobs. After several months of online dating and weekend driving, I decided to move to Iowa in order to pursue a developing relationship and a new job in the Iowa City VA weight management program. Three months later my boyfriend decided to end the relationship. I would love to live closer than 4 hours to my family in WI again, but my job situation is keeping me here. For leisure time, I love to do something that gets me "exercising" or physically active, like hiking, walking, etc. I enjoy being outside, in the warm sunshine, with my little dog, with people who are important in my life. I'd like to learn how to swim better. I enjoy helping out whenever and however I can; I help out at work in the kitchen when they are really short staffed. I enjoy home remodeling projects. I'm not a big partier, being more of an introverted type. I'd prefer a night with my partner rather than a large group of people. I like to watch movies and cuddle. I like a good cup of joe in the morning and a glass of wine or a bottle of beer at night on occasion. I love baking, but it usually ends up being something I have tried to health-ify in some way. A willingness to eat vegetables on a daily basis is a must for my partner, since that is just how I live. I used to have a garden, but not in my new location yet. I come from a large family, and family get-togethers are pretty important to me at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

I am a shy person but a driven person. I will do what it takes to accomplish my life goals. I come from a very large and strongly devoted catholic family. I have a close relationship with my family, I like being with my family and enjoying life. I enjoy teaching religious education classes for younger children and I am also very involved at my parish. One of my passions is to help others, I am willing to give someone my food so they are able to eat. On my free time when my nose is not buried in a book, or on the computer for school, I like to take pictures, go on walks, sing my heart out (even though I am not the best), listen to music, and also read.

Hi. I consider myself a 'glass half-full' type of person with an optimistic outlook on life. I'm 54 years of age, in good health, a father of a 20-year-old son who was adopted from India as a 14-month old, professionally employed and well-educated, financially secure, a devout Catholic, recently divorced, working on an annulment and looking for a female friend who is looking for a good guy to get to know. What am I passionate about? I love live music of all types, motorcycling (yes, I wear a helmet and protective gear all the time!), I love being a father, I'm an owner of a happy dog (or does she own me?), owning my own home, politics and I'm an avid reader of current events, spy novels and thrillers. People and experiences that have been most influential in my life include my parents (Albert and Rita), my brothers and sister (Tom, Tim, Ted, Teresa, Terry and Thad...notice a trend? Our names all start with 'T') and especially my two oldest brothers Tom and Tim, I've had the good fortune of getting a great education throughout my life including university and graduate school, I've been elected to public office twice in my life and have been very active in politics for all of my adult life. I've lived in six states but I'm primarily a Midwesterner. I've also had the good fortune of being married for 26 years although the marriage failed and has now ended. I harbor no ill will or bitterness toward my ex-wife but I am ready to move on.

I would like to have a relationship with a guy who enjoys being in social situations, comfortable with my friends. I love being outdoors walking, biking, hiking, or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. I love watching movies or reading books, especially the bible. Family is very important to me. I live in this area in order to be able to spend time with them. I love to travel and I've enjoyed fishing in the past. In my spare time I work on updating my home.

A few months ago I got to Mass early and sat in the middle of a pew. As people started coming in I noticed that a family sat in front of me, then a family on one side, then the other side and a large family sat behind me. I smiled watching the moms and dads moving seats and picking up a kid and putting them down to pick up another. For the first time in my life I thought "Where is my family? I should be here at Mass with my wife and children." Why did the Lord choose to put this in my heart now at the age of 38? Since that morning I have been praying for guidance and clarification. Looking back at my life and my relationships I realized that it's only because of my own selfishness and awful decisions that lead to me being single. God, in his mercy, wanted to put this feeling in my heart. I have never seriously thought about marriage until recently. Speaking with both my Grandmothers about this they said "You still have time." With that word of encouragement and the constant reminder of the Catholic Match commercials on Relevant Radio, I have decided to be proactive about it.
