60, Carson, IADo you like the outdoors or enjoy nature? Are you creative or a DIYer? Do you openly practice your Catholic faith? Could you appreciate a rural lifestyle? These things, and many more, play an important part in my life. With all that in mind, I would like to be open-minded to whomever the good Lord puts in front of me. Maybe a long-distance relationship would work, regardless of how impractical it may seem at the time. I think one of the keys to a solid relationship is a good foundation rooted in faith and friendship. Let's get started! I've had many reminders of just how precious life can be, but the 2 most poignant ones have been my own bout with cancer and the death of my mom. Our time on this earth is a true gift from God, one we don't always appreciate. I enjoy quiet times as well as times of fun and laughter. A smile on a loved ones face, the beauty of an alpine meadow, a rainbow, the color of the sky before an impending storm....experiences from God's world.... add substance to life. I believe in utilizing my god-given talents, and healthy living is important to me. I currently live on a small acerage, with a 3 sheep and 2goats; there is something to be said for the peace, quiet and connectedness to the earth and nature. My dream would be to retire someday and live a somewhat sustainable lifestyle. Being a good steward of the land is important to me. I don't care to trash the gift God created for us... this Earth. I enjoy baseball, basketball, football, hockey...especially collegiate, and I have to be honest, my allegience is to the state of Wisconsin, having lived there for a number of years. I like to travel via plane, train, or auto. I would like to do more but don't want to do it alone. I appreciate Mother Nature, especially visiting state and national parks. I also enjoy going to fairs, festivals, and other events or just staying around home, digging in the garden or creating in the kitchen. I enjoy doing all sorts of handcrafts, sewing, quilting, etc. and want to get back to spinning and weaving. in addition, I spend time with church activities and with my daughters family, one of which lives nearby. The other daughter lives far away. Between them, I have eight grandkids.

I finally feel like I am at my career and not just working a job and I am now wanting someone to share that with. I love to travel and time of year affects the destination. 24, Council Bluffs, IAHello, I am Gustavo a recent graduate of Iowa State with a bachelors in psychology. I am really passionate about learning new things about human nature, the brain, beliefs and values and how they interact to create a personality. I grew up in a very devout catholic home and my parents were very influential in instilling me with basic christian values. This created a child that really admired saints and hoped to change the world like they did even if it meant in the smallest bit. As I grew up though, I became more distanced from the church. I delved deeper and deeper into existential philosophy hoping to create my own value system. I know find my self full circle back to where I started and I am rediscovering what it means to be Catholic. I will one day return to school to finish a masters and be able to help those in need within the mental health field, but for now I work as a banker.

24, Iowa City, IAMy name is Kim, I am a new nurse and I just accepted a job in Iowa City as a heart nurse. I'm really excited for this new adventure in my life and I've worked really hard to get to this point. In my leisure time, I like to relax from a busy/stressful week and go shopping, work out which includes Zumba and going on walks/runs, painting class, and just hanging out with friends. I am not originally from Iowa. I was born in Illinois and grew up primarily in Arizona. I've been to school in both Illinois and Iowa, so I guess I can say I tend to travel a lot ;) I've been out of country a few times, to the Philippines, and it was such a blessing and great opportunity being there. I am half Asian, so I was able to meet my Asian roots :) The reason why I am on here is because I am Catholic and I am proud of my faith, and I want to find a guy whom shares the same faith and values as I do. My previous relationship was hard because he was Reformed and there were some aspects where it was hard to find common ground and see eye-to-eye.
85, Sioux City, IASince my wife's passing, my life has changed: lost weight; enrolled in numerous classes at local community college; talked to more people; exercised even more. While all of these are good, I have continually felt lonely for the first time in my life. I have discovered that I need someone to care for and to love, and I also need to have someone do the same for me. That has been a a surprise, almost a shock! My parents, especially my mother, influenced me greatly, providing a home filled with God, love, and peace. My paternal grandmother, who lived with us during the summer months - the rest of the year she kept house for my father's younger brother, a parish priest in the Rapid City diocese - taught me, by her example, that through faith, love and persistence most seemingly impossible goals could be reached. My only sibling, an older brother showed me the rewards of effort, diligence, and study. Family is most important; the fact that my friends number so few gives a clue to my devotion to family. Reading has been a lifelong passion, whether fiction for enjoyment or non-fiction for instruction. Dogs, lap or hunting, have always been an integral part of my life.
