I am an easy going kind of guy that isn't afraid to work hard, or play hard. I am more of a social type and like to keep in touch with the people that are important to me. And I am always open to meet new people, I believe everyone has something to offer.

First of all, I am CATHOLIC. The Catholic faith and traditions are very important to me. I belong to a fantastic parish and we are like a family. I recently switched jobs from being a teacher of 2 year olds to working at a hotel. Too many years of teaching 2's had made me lose part of my mind (only kidding). I love children and will miss that job ALOT. I can get my fix of children with my best friend-she and her husband have 8. I also teach CCD to and just this year graduated to teaching the 1st Communion kids from being with the 4 & 5 year olds.I was nervous about making the switch to the big kids, but it was truly a blessing. God always knows what he is doing when we get challenged and say yes. And as I mentioned I belong to a fantastic parish with lots of big familes. Friends, family and children are very important to me. I have 2 older brothers, a niece, a nephew and a great nephew and as of July 7th, 2012 a great niece who is very cute. They all live a distance from me so I don't get to see them often, that may change as my niece has just relocated to Iowa. I love my family very much. I am very grateful to have made wonderful friends where I live who are like family.. I was lucky enough to see Pope John Paul 2 at World Youth Day in Denver which was a unique experience and has it's own share of miracles to go with it. I am so glad I took the opportunity to go to Denver. I have reached the point in my life where I can honestly say I am very happy just to be me especially since I took on the challenge to lose weight and have lost 50 pounds as of July 7, 2012!!

I moved to Iowa from Florida the end of 2014. Still trying to get used to the winters and the snow. Trying to meet new people to do things with and learn about the area. I have a little creative streak and enjoy doing things to help out ~ when I was working I would make up the gift baskets for auctions and would try and make the items relative to what the event was. I also have done some scrapbooking in the past. I love the water and miss being close to the beach. I enjoy reading, movies, checking out new places and restaurants and visiting with friends. I tend to be quiet until I get to know you ~ then watch out.

I would say that I am a humorous, sensitive, responsible guy who has a lot to offer to the right person. I do not believe in playing games, life is too short for that. I have been a Teacher for 38 years. I have all my own teeth & hair, I can form multi-syllable words into complex sentences, and my knuckles don't drag the ground. I am a genuinely nice guy, a gentleman, easy to be around. :-) I was married for 18 years, and have been divorced for 14 years. I teach 7th and 8th graders how to use power tools. :-) I guess I want the ultimate "Dream Woman". NOT a trophy wife, but must be attractive (at least to me.) Patient, loving, self confident, smart, loyal and honest. A genuine sense of humor is a MUST for me! I want someone to laugh with me. What do you get in return? A loving. hardworking, stable, loyal, honest, intelligent, humorous guy. (All the things women don't seem to be looking for.) LOL

Hello, Thanks for stopping by to read my profile. I like antiques, outdoor fests, music, see new sights, gardening, arts/crafts, almost anything to do with summer and being outdoors. The fall is my favorite time of the year to explore the beautiful foliage and crisp air. I am a non-smoker and social drinker. I like a quiet or romantic evening at home or as a couple out enjoying our mutual interests. I decided to get on this dating site and post my ad for a friendship first, then see where it goes. Start off slow and increase speed with time. Both understand the importance of ability to compromise and communicate. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Mutual chemistry that promotes a desire to call each other, talk about our day and have that connection. The twinkle in our eyes eventually moves toward sensual intimacy and the desire to commit. We share a soft personality with good natured temperament and disposition. The ability to listen, to care, to give affection and have it returned.

I am a full time musician with a very popular 50's and 60's band in northeast Iowa. I am the father of 7 children who are grown. I have 5 grandchildren who I don't see very often because they live far from me. I love my family, and communicate with them often. I am looking for someone who has a positive outlook on life, I don't want to be bogged down by people who chose not to be happy.

I am passionate about sharing my life with a straight thinking conservative woman. One that I can trust to use her brain before her heart, Our country and our church is in big trouble right now and we have some very important adult decisions to make. I will never date a liberal, it's a waste of time and they shouldn't even be on this site. For the right woman, I will devote every bit of my heart and energy. I have a strong provider/protector instinct as any good man should. The beauty of the Woman/Man complementary relationship, I believe, is God's 2nd greatest gift to us. I will never deny my Catholic faith as it is who I am. I know that people get distracted by the noise of life and that our Lord does not control this physical world we live in. He created this Catholic faith to help us get through our trials. THAT is His greatest gift to us. My travels to Mexico have given me a great appreciation for what we are blessed with here in the U.S. I would like to be involved with "Food for the Poor" or something similar when I have more time or in my retirement.
  • Joe, 85 from Sioux City, IA
    85, Sioux City, IA
Since my wife's passing, my life has changed: lost weight; enrolled in numerous classes at local community college; talked to more people; exercised even more. While all of these are good, I have continually felt lonely for the first time in my life. I have discovered that I need someone to care for and to love, and I also need to have someone do the same for me. That has been a a surprise, almost a shock! My parents, especially my mother, influenced me greatly, providing a home filled with God, love, and peace. My paternal grandmother, who lived with us during the summer months - the rest of the year she kept house for my father's younger brother, a parish priest in the Rapid City diocese - taught me, by her example, that through faith, love and persistence most seemingly impossible goals could be reached. My only sibling, an older brother showed me the rewards of effort, diligence, and study. Family is most important; the fact that my friends number so few gives a clue to my devotion to family. Reading has been a lifelong passion, whether fiction for enjoyment or non-fiction for instruction. Dogs, lap or hunting, have always been an integral part of my life.
