Others seem to see me as kind hearted and logically minded. Otherwise I am quite introverted and perhaps not too emotionally intelligent. For the past few years I have been living a rather uneventful life in Ireland (ex S.African). Usually I keep myself busy with maintaining my electronic and computer science skills.

I have a good background in spiritual reading and prayer experience. My Christian Faith is the centraL driving force and motivator in my life. . I have a personality that people generally like -good sense of humour, positive, optimistic, confident, cheerful. I'm good with women. I can cheer them up and make them laugh. I am someone that people generally feel comfortable with: a nice guy who is interesting to talk to, is a good listener and has an interesting story to tell. I'm an outdoorsey type. Interests include cycling, swimming, football (all codes) current affairs, history, travel, animal (dog) cooking (Paella is my favourite), dancing. Having lived in Ireland for twenty years I enjoy travelling abroad, mainly now visiting friends and family. I also travel with a Church group to Lourdes each year. I have also been to Rome and Fatima. The Holy Lands are somewhere I think about maybe visiting some day. As I work nights I have the opportunity of "lunching with the ladies" and hitting the shops on week days. I have a gym membership, but admittedly only use the swimming pool area. Pleased to say I have sole control of the remote control and follow the Soaps and weekly drama programmes, though have known to miss them completely some weeks. I used to enjoy going dancing, but that was a few years ago now. Not really into any sports, but have been known to watch a final or two, albeit without the benefit of knowing most of the rules.

I'm a semi-retired American-Canadian hospital pastoral-care director, and writer, living in Dublin, Ireland, and still hoping to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, I lived in Central Europe for 17 years during the Cold War and spent the past twenty years in Vancouver BC. I enjoy classical music, cycling, reading and I love our Catholic faith, attending Mass, Adoration and reading the lives of the Saints. The late Dutch evangelist and concentration camp survivor Corrie ten Boom was a frequent guest in my parents home on Cape Cod during my teenage years. Her friendship and influence on my life was profound. In 1967, I joined an ecumenical religious community in Germany, where I lived and served for seventeen years in a desire to help survivors of the Holocaust. I returned to the States in 1984 and married my childhood sweetheart. I was widowed this past April and moved to Ireland in September 2016, never having recovered from my homesickness for Europe. I love attending Mass, Adoration, reading the lives of the Saints, listening to Baroque music, and socializing with friends.

Hello, greetings to everyone on the site especially the folks of my own vintage. I am a warm, confidant, content and caring lady. I am mostly a happy and outgoing person but have a quiet and thoughtful side too. I have three adult children, all married with their own families. My siblings are all living locally which is lovely for me to have them close. Not sure if I am looking for marriage, more a lovely friendship where we could be at ease with each other and share outings or walks or maybe a trip to the cinema. It would be nice to share some time in prayer or attend Sunday Mass.

Now that I'm retired, I really enjoy the freedom to be myself. I have learned to relax and to take each day as I find it. I have always loved people, and my greatest joy is being with people of like mind. I love to go out for a leisurely meal, and to relax over coffee or a nice glass of wine.Equally I love to go for coffee with friends. I attended yoga classes for ten years, and this is where I learned to relax and live in the moment. We had a wonderful teacher, who practised what she preached, and she taught me so much about healing the body, and how to take care of ourselves. As a result, I attended several healing courses , and found it all very interesting. I also learned the power of positive thinking, and the effect it has on our bodies, and on our hearts. All of this was a great help to me when I was widowed. It put a purpose in my life, and my friends of like mind were a great support to me. I was a teacher for many years, but my greatest achievement was teaching healing classes in Australia.I also attended courses in U. S.
