Sassy, silly, sarcastic. I laugh a lot. I'm a hardworker. Eucharistic minister, lector, & CCD teacher at my church. I find happiness & beauty in the simple things. I have found that I am happiest when I am helping people. My goal in life is to be healthier, happier, & holier! : ) My faith is important to me, & I'd like to meet others who feel the same. I enjoy reading religious books & making rosaries in my spare time. Been to a good few foreign countries & LOVE to travel. I like visiting religious places/shrines. I've done mission work with the Burmese Refugees in Thailand, & wish like crazy I could get back to them! Oh, & I love fireflies, rainbows, shooting stars, & STORMS! There's something about rain that just soothes my soul.

I'm passionate about peace and justice. I look forward to getting together with friends. I grew up as an army dependent and lived in many different states. Right after college, I volunteered for the Peace Corps and served in Malaysia. I have one adopted daughter from El Salvador. She arrived in the US at 20 months old and is 31 years old now with a husband and five year old son. I retired in January of 2017 after working in education for 35 years full time and 10 years part-time.

I am passionate about my calling as a teacher. I look forward to being with my students and sharing with them. I enjoy my colleagues. I have little leisure time. What time I have I share with my father and I do sports to stay physically fit and in shape. I enjoy nutritious foods and I enjoy wearing pretty clothes. The people that have had the most influence on me have been my own teachers. Many of them have contributed to changing my life for the better, although not perhaps at the time they were teaching me. I hope I am a positive influence in the lives of my own students. I look upon this "job" I do every day as a "calling" so it is not a job. I consider teaching to be a noble profession. I have taught many years and the more I teach, the more responsibility I have. I could be passionate about lots of things. I think, in my retirement, which is not forthcoming, I would enjoy writing books. This would keep me occupied and would be productive. I have had to write articles as a professor. I have been editor-in-chief, now twice, for volumes on film. I would enjoy writing, I know. I would like to take up a new sport, like golf. I played golf and I think I would enjoy it very much fun for the future. I would like to take a chance with Catholic Match as I have looked upon the site for years but I have done nothing. I enjoy watching movies as this is my current research, research on film. I enjoy cooking, however I cook very little. This is something I would like to do in the future, more cooking. I relish delicious meals and fresh fish, above all. I forgot to mention the wine to round out the meal! I would hope whomever I would "match up" with would enjoy wine with dinner.

Born and raised in New Orleans and enjoy all that this city has to offer (especially Jazz Fest); although I do have an unrelenting travel bug and love to get away whenever I can. I enjoy spending time outside and appreciate a good sunrise/sunset and am always up for an adventure. I'm a dog lover, but my current living situation doesn't permit. I enjoy occasionally going out and can cut a rug with the best of them (albeit poorly), but often some of the best nights involve cooking at home with a glass of wine. One of my favorite things to do is to sit around a table for hours with great company and good food and drink. A lot of my free time lately is spent running and I am currently training for my second marathon. Another favorite pastime involves watching sports- almost any sport, but especially football and basketball. I love learning new things and amcurrently taking a photography class. Catholicism has played an important role throughout my life, especially in my education. I attended a small Jesuit college that helped shape me into who I am today. I'd love to get to know someone with similar interests. Shoot me a message if you'd like to chat. Or let's go grab a drink!

I am widowed and had been married for 48 yrs. . My wife and I were very active in our church and have many experiences with our church family. I attended Catholic school through the 8th grade and then public school and then to college. My parents gave me a strong work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility. My grandparents were quick to allow me to help them and make mistakes in learning without being critical. From my parents and grandparents I learned how to pick and shell peas, pull corn, dig potatoes, gather eggs, and milk cows at 4:00 in the morning and again in the afternoon. I still enjoy animals but not the 4:oo AM milking or the other things that I had learned. I enjoy hunting, fishing, time with my granddaughters and chores around my home. I like unplanned day trips, looking at flea markets and junk shops. I find and meet some interesting people at these places.

I'm a single mom of a 17 year old daughter. I enjoy reading and spending time with my daughter. Looking to meet someone who shares the same faith. I'm just wanting to take things slow right now as I have been hurt in the past and I'm leary of anything serious at this time.

I grew up in a small, rural village where services were provided by the parish. I was the last daughter and the second to last child in a family with 8 children. Our home was one of four in the middle of sugar cane fields and swamps in Southeast Louisiana. I once counted and remembered nine windows on the East side of our house. From each of these nine windows, plus the view from both porches (front and back), was a great view of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church. It was nothing to walk the .1 mile to the church for morning and Sunday Masses. The Catholic Church made a huge impact on my life. I enjoyed living in the country and never planned to leave Vacherie. However, I knew in order to find work, I'd have to leave there. I took a bus to New Orleans where I applied for one job and niavely expected to get it. I eventually did, but that's a story for our conversations. I met my first husband there and with him, got to know more of the USA. I worked in offices and eventually became a legal secretary, having worked for law firms for 20+ years. After returning to Louisiana, my husband's deteriorating health finally took his life. I loved him deeply and we enjoyed our life together. He admired my independence and continued to cooperate with my thirst for knowledge and need to learn about anything and everything I wanted to. I also enjoyed sharing in his interests like dairy goat farming and more! After he passed away, I married again. This time to someone I'd known since I was in junior high. He was a devout Catholic and inspired me with his faith and his determination to stay on a diet that was best for him. With this second husband a lot of time was spent laughing and enjoying searching for the music of our youth and movies. We particularly liked to watch Jeopardy together. His health wasn't the best when we married. In spite of that, we had eight wonderful years together. I'm an animal lover and over the years have had cats to share the household with. I like dogs as well and quickly make friends with dogs belonging to friends and family. Since returning to Vacherie, a large part of my time has been spent with family. I enjoy seeing them for visits, going out for meals together, helping those who are in need of help and in turn, receiving help from them. I've had 5 stepchildren and continue to receive a lot of joy being involved in each of their and their children's lives as I can. They've been so good to me and I love them.
