I am a faith filled person that is optimistic about life. I believe that faith is a verb and I am always working on becoming what God will have me to be. I am a loving and loyal daughter, sister, and friend. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, reading, exercising, and traveling. Here is my quick reference guide: dogs instead of cats, chocolate instead of vanilla, surf instead of turf, a good laugh over a mystery, spring and summer instead of winter and fall, but always hoping for a white Christmas, and nothing beats sun, sand, and ocean.

Easy going person, very much down to earth. Love to hang out and fun to be with . Goal getter and looking for someone that shares same goal. My family have always been my greatest influence , keeping me grounded, humble and also giving me a purpose to keep striving to be the best in whatever I do.

Everyone I meet influences me in one form or another. Most for the good. I never stop learning. My father taught me the most about my faith. His was deep and quiet; ever present. My mother taught me strength and courage as I watched her battle cancer and win. My brother taught me laughter; the kind that makes your ribs hurt. And my late husband taught me patience. I have truly been blessed. I enjoy spending most of my time in meet-up groups; writing; luncheons and gardening. I have a granddaughter, 23 who is a teacher and a grandson, 16. I love them very much. I've been a widow now for three years and would like to find friendship and more with the right person. I believe a person is never too old to begin again.

My chief passion is the study of history. European history is my preference, but I am constantly adding to my eclectic library. In addition to history, I spend quite a bit of time reading historical fiction or fantasy. I also read on religious subjects from time to time. My favorite authors in order of precedence are: JRR Tolkien, Hilaire Belloc, Gk Chesterton, Evelyn Waugh, and CS Lewis. Plutarch is my favorite historian. Additionally, the Colombian Nicolas Gomez Davila's acidic and pithy aphorisms have recently come to my attention-sometimes too cruel, but in many cases there is much truth to be found. After reading, I enjoy lively and varied conversation with friends. I used to watch quite a lot of movies and shows, but my appetite for them has waned. I enjoy casual sports, though I am an exceptionally bad athlete. My favorite sport is soccer, followed by the much less organized sport of sword fighting with my younger brothers. I enjoy singing, particularly folk music of the British Isles or the Middle Ages. I have very recently begun to take up the more cultured arts of dusting off my now very rusty Latin, and taking up calligraphy (my handwriting is TERRIBLE) Progress in these forays is slow, but it's there. If I have success in these pursuits, Greek and dancing are next.

Im a Catholic very involved in my faith. I am very devoted to keeping the traditions and doctrine of the church alive because of the prophesies of Our Lady of Good Success. I've recently started attending the Tridentine Mass and I just want to help the Church I love

I love being outside. I like to ride bikes, take walks/hikes, visit parks, historical sites, swim in the ocean, lay on the beach.... There's something about being in nature that makes me feel calm and contented. I also follow the Ravens and the Orioles and really get a kick out of household projects - it's that feeling of accomplishment. Inside activities would include movies, games, reading, cooking, going out to dinner, & TV. I believe that I am a simple person who enjoys the simpler things of life. My children, who are grown and gone, are self-sufficient but we remain close and they are my pride and joy.

I split most of my free time between performance music/listening to music and competitive gaming. I wouldn't say it's fair to label me as a nerd because I play a lot of trading collectible card games since I also fervently practice cello, piano, and singing in the church choir as well as keeping up with the latest news from the Baltimore Ravens. The cliche that best describes me is "variety is the spice of life" since I wholeheartedly enjoy these drastically different activities that really comprise what I like to do for fun.
  • Nick, 51 from Baltimore, MD
    51, Baltimore, MD
I am very sociable and like to be active. I believe in taking care of my health both mind and body. I enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people, getting together with family and friends, theater/movies, weekend excursions . I have a few hobbies with music and learning foreign languages that I sometimes use at work. I have always considered myself very lucky as I come from a loving family and also very lucky to have great friends. I also enjoy volunteering my time to support a few special children's charities. I believe in being honest in all facets of my life and treat others as I hope to be treated. Although I have never been married (engaged many years ago), I am open to meeting those who are divorced, widowed, annulled - life happens and I never judge anyone!
  • Bennett, 48 from Rockville, MD

I am a retired Naval Officer, sometimes college professor and mostly a budget and contract manager for a US government agency. I have been divorced for seven years and still have my three kids half the time. Work is great, life is good. I work within government to help spur innovation as well as test and evaluate new programs. I am a PMP, FACHE, Lean/Six Sigma Blackbelt. The alphabet soup never ends. I am a good listener, kind and a hopeless romantic. I generally make myself too vulnerable but I guess nothing ventured.... I am scaling back on the work so I can try and enjoy life a little more. I love music, mostly the old stuff Hildagard von Begen to Sinatra and his ilk. I also like to travel, read and cook. I enjoy playing music when I get the chance. Anthropology, archeology, psychology, neuroscience and math all interest me.

I think of myself as an artist, but I love my job teaching. I'm passionate about nature, good music, and healthy foods! I'm a positive person and enjoy people who enjoy learning and traveling. As you see, I love theatre and singing, dancing and acting, but that doesn't take over the most important things in my life which are my family and my faith.

My Catholic Faith means the world to me. My strong morals are very important to me. I grew up in the Catholic Church. Get to know me, who I am as person and we can grow together to learn what is important to each other. What makes us tick as individuals. Family values are important to me. I do not have children of my own, but would welcome yours as my own. I don't believe in taking advantage of somebody for my own gain. I expect the same in return. I tried out a Religious Vocation earlier in my life, the particular community I guess wasn't for me. I would like to share my life with someone special. Otherwise, once I get my finances caught up I would see if there is a community that would accept me at my present age. I still have a lot of love and talents to share. I dont care to get caught up in someone else drama. I consider myself in good health. I work two jobs presently, but that could change if God so plans. God our Father, is always in control, he doesn't need our help. He is always good in giving us surprises by giving us the desires of our hearts. He is always pleased when we allow him to mould Us according to the Desires Of His Plan and purpose of our lives. I am still working on my divorce paperwork.
