56, Wenham, MAi am a stroke survivor. i have no idea what that means. one day i fell victim to a hemispheric stroke, the next day my life was turned upside down. since that time i take each day as it may come, i deal with the pain and struggle the best that i can. i am now a stroke advocate; helping others know that life awaits you, and that everything is going to be just fine, to be strong, positive, and to work hard at turning around those innuendos. my name is david, i have been divorced 7 years, i have 3 wonderful children, 2 boys ages 20 and 19, and a lovely 17 year old daughter. I am proud of my children, their academic achievements, being confirmed in the catholic church, and all the athletic and academic challenges that they face each day in college. after serving in the air force, i worked a teeny bit as a mechanical engineer, and then most of my life thereafter as a construction layman and bathroom and kitchen remodelling. i truly love working with my hands, creating something, building, from nothing, knowing that i served in a trade building a big part of the architecture of boston. when i'm not in a kitchen tiling, i'm in akitchen cooking italian food and mediterranean fare; for which i love. i also am a bit of a constant gardener and have tried to grow some prize state fair tomatoes and beets. if i'm not out turning soil i can be found in the garage woodworking, carving fish and building birdhouses. this is me. i turned an interest in old houses and reworked an old home in maine for our families summer lake residence. again my love for carpentry and craftsmanship would almost become a very large undertaking. but, summer by summer it soon turned into what we had all envisioned as a place we could escape to when school finished in june, and that we could call home. moose, coyote, bear, birds, porcupines, fish, and deer became a second family. i always root for the underdog it seems; rudy ruetigger, charlie brown, the karate kid, rocky balboa, tony montana, and even mr. ed the talking horse; he just never seemed to get any credit for having all the right answers. the most influential person in my life was my grandmother. she spoke little english, and soon i adopted italian as a second language. she was a positive role model; hardworking and spiritual person. a cook, gardener, carpenter, mother, nanny, tutor. in my leisure time to can see me challenged by a sudoku, crossword. i read auto bio's. i love to swim and bike. i enjoy helping the homeless.
66, Wenham, MAMy faith in God is what guides me through life. I love people who are kind, considerate, and loving. I have been fortunate to have a wonderful family and friends who I admire and trust. I enjoy being active- including walking, exercising, traveling, snowshoeing, reading and a variety of other activities. I meet life's challenges with determination and hope. Life is a gift from God and we should all use and share the talents we have been given to help one another on our journey
