56, Birmingham, ALThanks for viewing my profile. I am an adult convert to Catholicism from "secular humanism." I've lived in the Deep South for about half my life (all but 8 months of that in Alabama). I am canonically Melkite Greek Catholic but recently moved my parish membership to the Cathedral parish in Birmingham. My faith is THE most important thing in my life. Jesus pursued me for years and when I finally surrendered to His love, it changed everything, and it did so once and for all. No going back. I'm not a religious nut, but I am definitely a fervent, loyal Catholic Christian. I would describe myself as outgoing (but not always easygoing), bright (but not always smart or wise), intelligent (but not quite nerdy), interesting (but not exotic), openminded but with strongly-held convictions in many areas. One strong trait of mine is generosity. (Another is a tendency to be verbose ... in case you were wondering!) I am prone to make judgments quickly, but In the last few years I believe I have grown a lot in gentleness and kindness and self-control (Galations 5:12-23). I don't have as much dating experience as you might expect for a guy of my (shall we say, um) vintage, so don't count on me to know how to do courtship perfectly, should our two paths lead us to that. Courting my intended will involve a bit of trial and error on my part! Since I believe strongly in allowing God to lead me and equip me through the Holy Spirit, I'm not stressin' about that fact. Probably all of my Christian friends would acknowledge me to be a man of prayer, and I am praying that God might use this website to lead me to the one woman He created from all eternity to be my wife.
34, Huntsville, ALHello! My name is Brian. I live in Huntsville, Alabama. I am an Athens State graduate with a B.S. ED. in Elementary Education. I'm teaching at a local Catholic school. Life is busy, but also it's good. My faith is important to me. It has gotten me through tough times. I find the more I trust in Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to act the more my love for him grows and the more my mind is at peace and my heart at rest. I learn that while I suffer I am able to count the blessings in my life. It is my hope to offer all my work, joy, pain, sorrow, and prayers to the Lord and Author of Life who transforms lives, forgives, and shows mercy. I actively service my parish in several ministries, such as, religious education (I teach juniors in high school), youth ministry (middle and high school), lectoring, and as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. I enjoy the outdoors, playing sports, and reading spiritual books.
68, McCalla, ALI am an outgoing positive person. Divorced for 11 years. One Daughter. Enjoy cooking, fine wine, and fine dining. Cooking is my passion. Very relaxing for me and usually good eating. I enjoy family and traveling. I have seen most of the states and visited Europe a few times.
41, Decatur, ALHi. I am a transplant to the Huntsville area from Chicago (I'm originally from Jersey...SOUTH Jersey) People would describe me as happy and I get along with just about anyone. I have a pretty outgoing personality and Im full of energy. I am interested in meeting someone who may or may not meet that perfect someone, but who is willing to take a chance (okay, I definitely stole those last sentences from someone). But seriously, since I'm still sorta new to this area, I'm interesting in meeting someone who wants to meet someone (I mean...that DOES sound redundant, but aren't we all on here for that reason?) I'm looking for someone full of surprises, maybe a little unpredictable and likes to laugh... someone that can dress it up or down, and is open to just about any new experience... Someone that is very optimistic (and loves to have a good time).
47, Montevallo, ALI love Christ, family and martial arts. Much of my life can be summed up in this statement. I am a convert to the Church, and accept the teachings--though, I do have issues with some. I am becoming a great admirer of Thomas Merton and C S Lewis.(and, yes, I am aware CS Lewis isn't/wasn't Catholic):)
30, Birmingham, ALFaith has always been important to me. I went to Catholic school, and loved attending mass throughout college and professional school. Being a healthcare provider has shaped my outlook on life and molded me into a more caring person. I enjoy outdoor activities and sports especially the Atlanta Braves, New Orleans Saints, and college football and baseball.
34, Huntsville, ALI enjoy any type of activity that engages my mind. I don't consider myself a bookworm, but I'm trying to read more; mostly nonfiction. I enjoy any type of outdoor activity. When the weather's nice, I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, biking & ultra races. I recently went skydiving for my 32nd birthday. Although I don't have a pet now, I'm an animal lover. I volunteer every Sunday with the high school youth at my church. I love working with kids of all ages & feel like I learn more from them than they do for me! I'm open to most types of music. Basically, anything that inspires or elicits emotion. I see my Catholic faith as a daily journey toward Heaven. I believe that Jesus left us the perfect Church & the tools that we need to obtain holiness. That's my goal. To get to Heaven & bring as many people with me. Ultimately, this will mean leading my wife & children to Heaven, but for now, it's striving for sainthood by attending daily mass, the "hospital for sinners". Although I long to be in a committed relationship, my goal is to find completeness in Christ and total dependency on him.
38, New Market, ALHello, my name is Joseph, and I am a bit of a workaholic. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing at home, watching movies and TV series via a popular streaming service that rhymes with 'pet tricks'. In addition, I play the occasional video game, especially those involving space and space exploration. Also, I am a hobby programmer. Finally, I also love just hanging out with my core group of friends, whether that be watching a movie or going bowling. I know this is a popular answer, but I believe that I am most inspired by my Dad. He is the quintessential Catholic Christian man: kind, loving, sacrificing, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. I have done my best to emulate his character. He taught me about what being a Catholic Man truly means. PS: Before anyone asks, I feel the need to explain my position on Contraception. I truly feel that I am in 90% agreement with the Catholic teaching on this topic. However, there is no middle ground when it comes to the question as asked, and I feel that this is shortchanging a difficult issue. I believe that the purpose of marriage is to be open to the transmission of life. However, in certain health related circumstances, the position on contraception may be waived. Mostly, for health reasons. For instance, a person becomes infected with HIV or another sexually transmitted disease through no fault of their own, be it via sexual assault or through tainted blood transfusions, etc. In this case, the spouse may also become infected. While contraceptives do not completely protect against the transmission of such diseases, they do provide some minimal level of protection. And that is why I answered "No" to the question.
25, Montgomery, ALRecent convert to Catholicism. I work for the Air Force and I am new to Alabama. I'm open to try almost anything, and love learning new things. No pets yet, but I'm open to that too!
