I love Christ, family and martial arts. Much of my life can be summed up in this statement. I am a convert to the Church, and accept the teachings--though, I do have issues with some. I am becoming a great admirer of Thomas Merton and C S Lewis.(and, yes, I am aware CS Lewis isn't/wasn't Catholic):)

  • Steve, 69 from Clanton, AL
    69, Clanton, AL
I enjoy travelling, physical fitness, gardening, college football, business and world news to name a few. I am a calm person that enjoys good conversation. I am a family oriented man and one of my strengths is good common sense. I am definitely a glass half full person. I enjoy having fun and I am not afraid of work and I have a good time doing both. I enjoy going on vacations but I also, enjoy quiet evenings at home. I like to eat healthy foods and try to watch what I eat. I am a family oriented person and have three wonderful adult children that are married with their own families. We enjoy getting together for cookouts, birthday parties and what have you. They all live in the greater Birmingham area. I try to exercise every day but probably average 5 times a week. My favorite is fast walking for about and hour and I am charged up mentally and physically afterwards. I am really enthusiastic about travelling and doing so often.
  • Joseph, 38 from New Market, AL
    38, New Market, AL
Hello, my name is Joseph, and I am a bit of a workaholic. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing at home, watching movies and TV series via a popular streaming service that rhymes with 'pet tricks'. In addition, I play the occasional video game, especially those involving space and space exploration. Also, I am a hobby programmer. Finally, I also love just hanging out with my core group of friends, whether that be watching a movie or going bowling. I know this is a popular answer, but I believe that I am most inspired by my Dad. He is the quintessential Catholic Christian man: kind, loving, sacrificing, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. I have done my best to emulate his character. He taught me about what being a Catholic Man truly means. PS: Before anyone asks, I feel the need to explain my position on Contraception. I truly feel that I am in 90% agreement with the Catholic teaching on this topic. However, there is no middle ground when it comes to the question as asked, and I feel that this is shortchanging a difficult issue. I believe that the purpose of marriage is to be open to the transmission of life. However, in certain health related circumstances, the position on contraception may be waived. Mostly, for health reasons. For instance, a person becomes infected with HIV or another sexually transmitted disease through no fault of their own, be it via sexual assault or through tainted blood transfusions, etc. In this case, the spouse may also become infected. While contraceptives do not completely protect against the transmission of such diseases, they do provide some minimal level of protection. And that is why I answered "No" to the question.

  • Matthew, 46 from Moody, AL
    46, Moody, AL
Hi there! I am a Catholic convert who is very interested in finding a companion who shares a love for the Catholic faith. I love to read, write, and play music. I have an extensive library and a small recording studio in my house. I also have built a small chapel room in my house. I love to laugh and take road trips for fun. I am looking for someone who shares an interest in the Catholic faith, likes to laugh, listen to music, read and chat about the important things in life. I prefer the traditional Mass and I find that the traditional Catholic books are the most inspiring to read. Some of my favorites include St Catherine's Dialog, any Dominican writings including those of the great St Thomas Aquinas. I have a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary is a core part of m life. In my leisure I love to take a ride to Nashville, or some place of interest. The Shrine in Hanceville is one of my favorite places to spend a day on the weekend. I love the arts and I like to write on my blog, listen to music, or play music on my guitars! I have a little recording studio and love to record my own songs.
