Introduction: I judge a city by its libraries, its museums, its food, and its churches. And I don't say this to be boastful it's just another way of saying, I love my books, culture, my grub and my God. I believe that life is meant to be enjoyed as well as examined because as Socrates famous quote goes, the unexamined life is not worth living. So it doesn't come as a surprise that I enjoy deep conversations on philosophical theories (preferably ones of Jacque Maritain and Friedrich von Hayek) over a bottle of Italian or French red wine or my occasional weakness for la Coca-Cola. Other said weaknesses? A great yoga class, spell-checking Facebook statuses, laughing to Frasier, Seinfeld and Jerry Lewis and of course, being on the wooden expanse of a dance floor. Yes, I am the 1% of the male species: I am a trained (ex-competitive) ballroom dancer. While I am interested in a long-term relationship, I know that every great love story starts with good food and good conversation. So let's start from there. I'd love to meet a woman who enjoys the arts (music, dance and theater), keeping fit and healthy and traveling to explore the world. I am not afraid of strong women and believe that strength is also found in being genuine and loyal to her friends and family. Above all, I want to share my life with someone who loves Christ. I experienced a life-changing event (I'll save that story!) that brought me to the realization that all the wonderful things life has to offer come from him and I can honestly say, my faith has made me a better, more authentic person.

Hello. I'm an educated and well traveled person who is grateful and humbled by what I've been given. I want to learn and see more and share all of it with someone I admire and trust, and with children if possible. I like trying to be athletic and enjoying the outdoors (particularly the mountains), but I appreciate and enjoy the arts (symphony, ballet and theater). Movies and watching sports are favorite pastimes and I love skiing, playing tennis and golf. I have God children that I love and I'd love to have my own or help with the raising of my wife's children, if I marry someone with kids. I'm inspired by people that have balanced lives with a focus on family. I seek to have respectful, supportive, open peer relationships with my friends and hopefully with my future wife.

I am passionate about, GOD, LIFE, LOVE AND FAMILY...period. I am a single father of one amazing 9yr. old girl who refuses to slow down...hahaha. and I am not going to get in her way. I am a hard working all American man who takes care of his family at any cost. In addition to raising a young daughter in the faith I am supporting my mother. I have a big heart and I am willing too share it with that special someone. I am not into dating a bunch of women at the same time. If this is your preference then I am not the right person for you. God bless and thanks for looking.

I came to catholicmatch because it seems hard to find people who still value their faith. I'm looking for someone who is motivated, adventurous, finds family and faith important and is an overall genuine person. A few things about me: - I just moved to SF from Philly and have been loving it here so far - I like to do anything outdoors: biking, surfing, hiking, soccer - I love to travel, and recently explored a few countries in Europe

Writing (and reading) literary fiction has been a pretty serious hobby of mine for the past 8 years or so, although that may be shifting now. I like to travel, see new sights, hear new music. I like movies a lot too. My friends and family have been my major influences in my life.

In the end what facinates me more than anything is philosophy. I have put a lot of time and money into my training as a philosopher so that I could teach in a Catholic university with the freedom that the Church gives us. I was a priest in the Episcopal Church (Anglican) for 15 years serving three parishes in California, my home state. And I found that although the Episcopal Church prides itself on its freedom actually its leftist hierarchy tyrronizes the conservatives creating a church anything but free. I could not think philosophically free as an episcopalian. One day, after 2 years of struggle, Our Blessed Mother very personally and strongly drew me into the Catholic Church. I had the sense that she was ordering me into the Catholic Church! I heard her say to me, "Get into the Church" as if my entrance into the Mother Church was a matter of great urgency. I would have to relinquish my priesthood in the Episcopal Church if I entered the Catholic Church. I would no longer have a job to support my children. A precarious position. But God made it clear that, for me, it was better to be a Catholic layman than an Episcopal priest. So I went back to school and earned a doctorate and now I'm a professor in a catholic seminary. I have a little Down syndrome son who of all the people in the world is my greatest joy. His name is Christian and he is well known at the seminary. He likes playing the guitar with his brothers reading good books and eating cheeseburgers. He keeps my feet on the ground and models an unconditional love for everybody he meets. A model which I should follow. We spend a lot of time together. But there remains ample room for one more: a catholic woman who would be loved deeply by both of us. and who I plan to cherish. My Catholic faith is vey important to me. It guides every intention of my heart as well as the ideas of my mind. "The heart has reasons that the reason knows not of." (Pascal) I will stay in the Bay Area where my family has lived for six generations and where I have been a professor for 20 years. I will continue to teach and write at the seminary. And I would like to meet someone who could journey with me in this kind of life. And not just journey together on a dusty path of routine and boredom, but to love each other wildly and to express that love demonstrably, and to "be there" for each other when we face challenges. In other words, I need a God-sent, genuine woman.

I am passionate toward people who need help or support in the world such as homeless people. I look forward to helping someone the best way I can like giving them something to eat, drink, or talking to them. I care a lot about people with disabilities, those who are homeless, and those who need help in any kind of way. The people who have influenced me in life have been my family and friends. They have given me social support by encouraging and helping me accomplish small goals step by step in life. Some have influenced me to maintain my faith by reading scriptures from the Bible and relating it to my life. Over all, what helps influence me to maintain my faith in God is to talk to me about my goals, listen and understand where I am coming from in life and give me support by telling me to keep up the good work. This encouragement helps me take action to do better in life. In my leisure time, I like to go to the movies, take walks, socialize at cafes or at Peet's or Starbuck's Coffee. I like going to the beach and taking long walks in the sand. I like to spend time talking to friends and family about our goals and what we want to achieve in life.

One of my major drives in life is to pursue excellence. I try to get the most out of life that I can and prefer spending time and money on experiences and growth rather than possessions. When I go out, I try to eat and drink something delicious and enjoy a good conversation. I also try to take care of my health by exercising regularly. I use and appreciate when others use proper grammar and spelling. I'm a pretty good listener, and I don't think sarcasm is a sign of wit or intelligence. (I also probably won't respond to you if you just send me an emotigram.) I'm usually serious and reserved, though I love intellectual challenges and can get pretty competitive when playing games. Card and board games are great. I'm also athletic and enjoy playing sports. I love to read and watch movies that are thought-provoking and inspire philosophical or hypothetical conversations about life. I'm also financially responsible. I practice budgeting, save for retirement, and dabble in investments.
