81, Belmont, CA"The world is alive with the grandeur of God" (-Hopkins). The love and humor of God and the incarnation of Christ are vibrantly evident in everything, including my sons' busy lives, ages 19 & 22, my late wife's very best achievements. Lost her to ovarian cancer. Being Mom and Dad is more challenging than I expected. A convert, I'm a Permanent Deacon - one of the Church's three orders of clergy - with the equivalent of a master's degree in pastoral theology to go with my B.A. and an "almost M.A." (lacking only a thesis) in English/Language Arts/Journalism/Creative Writing/American Literature. (I have permission to be here. See Circular Letter Prot. N. 263/97 from the “Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments†in the Curia of the Vatican.) Am involved in exciting Church ministries. A reformed mountain climber, I hold FAA licenses for sailplanes and single-engine airplanes. Ever witness a cloud being born around you or climbed skyward like a homesick angel? Those hobbies disappeared along with season tickets to the symphony and theater as my sons became more expensive, but they are well worth it. For my secular career, I’m self-employed as a marketing and public relations consultant for emerging hi-tech enterprises in Silicon Valley. Wanted to write the "great American novel," but am now relegated to the great American press release. Humor, optimism, meditation, spirituality, independence, a simpatico companion, expansive mountainous vistas, ocean sunsets and good California wine are important. Healthy physically and emotionally, trustworthy, honest, sincere, mischievous, sometimes annoying but definitely not into games, nor do I believe in controlling people. Can't dance (2 left feet), can't sing (can't carry a tune in a bucket), but I have all my hair (in a box under the bed). I wish you peace, fulfillment and the discovery of all you're searching for.
65, San Francisco, CAI have found that happiness is within ourselves. From there, our happiness will carry over to all facets of our lives, including personal relationships and business relationships. We should value the gift of life and joy in our daily lives. As such, we should not be overly concerned about relative life, such as ideology, material expectations, and other peoples idea of success. Success is happiness within. We should realize that the Creator provides for everything even though it may be hidden from human eyes.

CPR was performed on me by a friend of mine who was an off duty ER RN then after the Paramedics arrived they had to use their defibrillator on me twice, to get me to the ER. I went back to work in March of 2015 since then I walk about 19,350 to over 35,851 steps a day. I try to treat people, as I would like to be treated, the respect for whom people are rather than what they are. I'm catholic but have been more a spiritual believer and believe in the power of prayer. My daughters say that my theme song would be a Michael Buble song " haven't met you yet". I thank God for every morning that I wake and thank Him at the end of my day.

63, Menlo Park, CAIn the end what facinates me more than anything is philosophy. I have put a lot of time and money into my training as a philosopher so that I could teach in a Catholic university with the freedom that the Church gives us I have a little Down syndrome son who of all the people in the world is my greatest joy. His name is Christian and he is well known at the seminary. He likes playing the guitar with his brothers reading good books and eating cheeseburgers. He keeps my feet on the ground and models an unconditional love for everybody he meets. A model which I should follow. We spend a lot of time together. But there remains ample room for one more: a catholic woman who would be loved deeply by both of us. and who I plan to cherish. My Catholic faith is vey important to me. It guides every intention of my heart as well as the ideas of my mind. "The heart has reasons that the reason knows not of." (Pascal) I will stay in the Bay Area where my family has lived for six generations and where I have been a professor for 20 years. I will continue to teach and write at the seminary. And I would like to meet someone who could journey with me in this kind of life. And not just journey together on a dusty path of routine and boredom, but to love each other wildly and to express that love demonstrably, and to "be there" for each other when we face challenges. In other words, I need a God-sent, genuine woman.

85, Novato, CAAccording to my birth certificate, I'm 85 years old. In terms of my outlook, I range in age from early adulthood to middle age (not to be confused with the Middle Ages). Formative experiences: I was born at the height of the Great Depression, which lasted until I was almost 10 years old. By my tenth birthday, America had been at war for a month. A year after the fighting ended, I became a military dependent (Army Brat) in Germany and France. Following my graduation from Frankfurt Military Post High School, I returned (unaccompanied by my family) to the U.S. to begin a new career. During my first 17 years, those who were most influential were my parents (especially my mother), and my three siblings. Together, we formed a staunchly Catholic family. Dad was necessarily absent for extended periods. During those times, my mother bore the entire burden of bringing up four children. i still marvel at how she managed. My childhood and adolescent experiences knitted together (bolted together?) the elements which formed the core of the person I am today. The first of these is a firm grounding in my Catholic faith, about which I am passionate. Closely related is the high value I place on family relations. Due to the moving around we did, I learned an appreciation of and liking for a wide range of people of different kinds and cultures. I also found travel to be an adventure. I was excited by both the act of travelling and the destination, whether new or familiar. Visiting places in Europe, immediately after World War II, such as St. Lo in France, Frankfurt, Hanau, Pforzheim, and Dachau in Germany convinced me that armed combat, except in defense of one's country is completely unacceptable (more on this in regard to my five years of service as a Regular Army officer). I'm currently intensively involved with Knights of Columbus activities, both third and fourth degrees. I'm an officer in both my Council and my Assembly. I'm also Secretary to the Board of a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. I spend too much time thinking about food: Menu planning, shopping, learning to prepare and preparing, eating what I've prepared, and cleaning up take a huge amount of time. Family celebrations, gardening, reading, and participating in parish activities are among my favorite pastimes. I also enjoy trying to expand my cooking abilities.
63, San Francisco, CAMy passion is to continue to teach adults and children through instruction and modeling. I want to live life to it's fullest and to become a complete person spiritually, personally, and physically. I would say that my parents, teachers, and friends were influential people in my life. My father was an excellent role model for me, my mother displayed a lot of love that I incorporated into my own personality, and teachers develop me academically and athletically and help me utilize and grow as a person. I enjoy during my free time doing activities outside that include dinner, movies, and physical activities such as biking or simply just taking a walk.
77, Daly City, CAI love art and sciences. So I usually visit art studios and art museums. As a science buff, I visit inventors society and gatherings. I read a lot about inventions and new ideas.
