I must confess that I am a hopeless romantic. I am passionate about my faith and my family. I have two adult daughters and four grandsons.Teaching has been my true vocation and it has meant so much to me. I am fortunate because of business interests to be financially independent. I love traveling especially to the seashore. I am happy reading, swimming, tennis, walking, cooking and researching family history. I am happy using my imagination, exploring, and solving mysteries. I enjoy opposites! I can go to a hotdog stand one day and dress in a tux the next. I can be very social or spend silent time in a monastery.

I feel very strongly that we are called to love the best way that we can in this life. I have taught for 36 years and I loved my students. I raised three children and joined my ex-wife in raising lovable and capable children. I have always felt it essential to be true to my friends. I love to share common goals and dreams with friends and family. I have so much to be grateful for over the years and I am continuously challenged to grow and adapt to to new professional and personal challenges as life unfolds. I look forward to celebrating life in all the ways we can. I long to share the past, the present, and the future with the person God is placing in my life. I am very excited to look at the day and tomorrow with a "new pair of glasses" on. It is exciting to think of all of the possibilities that are before us. When I look at the past and my life journey, I am genuinely grateful for those who believed in me and were willing to give me their friendship, trust, and time. I think back to my mentors and favorite teachers in high school and college. I have had such strong men in my life, having gone to an all guy school and taught in the same school for almost 20 years. There have been strong women in my life, especially my ex-wife, who truly was an excellent mother to our children and taught me how to give love to children and be a good father. I love my children and as I watch them struggle through their 20's with such challenges as this generation must face, I admire their perseverance and true commitment to individuality and freedom. We are close and I am grateful everyday for that. I enjoy outdoors. I have coached football and taught my son how to ride motorcycles. I love to ride pedal bikes and motorcycles. I love to sail, but just being around the water is fun for me. I enjoy sharing a good bottle of wine and visiting the ocean. Camping, hiking, and bike riding are favorite activities for me. I love to drive and travel. I enjoy driving a school bus when I get the chance. I relax with Netflix and enjoy watching suspenseful dramas. I love going out to the movies and dinner after. I love to live life to the fullest. I sometimes fear the risk of loving so much about life, because I struggle with failure and rejection. I am not a very good loser, and I am used to winning. As I have gotten older, life has a way of teaching me that "dyings" through loss and suffering are all part of the journey.

Life is tough, but it's grand -- from the sparkle in your eyes to the Orion nebula -- from quantum physics to the soft ears of a cat -- from the thunderous storm at sea to a spider on a dew-clad web in the woods. I have a PhD, and used to teach U. But the U environment was just a bit too self-serious for me -- although I really liked the teaching part. Now I'm a very minor writer of historical sea adventures for 9 - 12 year olds. I am new in Eureka, from the Bay Area. I am trying to learn Spanish so that I can be of service to the Hispanic families out here (helping their children with their school work.) I like to laugh. I like spending time with a good woman. I'm a pretty good listener, giver, and praiser. I try to be a nice guy, and I try to be honest. I try to be in touch with myself a bit, and I believe that I am emotionally available. I play guitar and piano, and I like to sing -- especially the blues, but all types of music. I've gotta sat that my favorite music is classical. But I like many many types of music. Music is a big part of my life. I hope to hear from you! -- Tim

I am a 5th generation Californian ending a career in the law. A graduate of Notre Dame, I have 3 adult offspring who are close to me but who live out of state. All are financially independent, as am I. At present I divide my time between Northern California and the Yucatan. In the next few decades of my life I plan to fulfill a long held dream of creating a non-profit which will export into 3rd and 4th world countries some of the vast reserve of talent, treasure and goodwill that exists in the lives of American Catholics, especially those who formed during their social consciences in the 60s and 70s. The geographic center of my soul just might be the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. Last year I read Masters of War, a history of the US in Latin America, David Brooks' the Road to Character, A History of Indigenous People's of America, The Season of the Witch, and Paul Ellie's work "The life you save might be your own" about Flannery O'Conner, Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, and Walker Percy. My politics are left/center; my heroes tend to be creative souls who recognize we humans are alive as part of a continuum of forces in the universe which we can either advance toward the beloved community or retard by our nonchalance. I love to eat, drink (moderately) and be merry. As a former university level athlete, my recreation tends toward the athletic, but I also play classical piano, and enjoy festive meals with friends in great conversation. I am blessed with a large and interesting family, and have been lucky to have traveled extensively, both domestically and abroad
