Back in college, I got kicked out of places three times: once for singing barbershop, once for swing dancing, and once for freestyle rapping. Clearly I'm trouble. I like to move and be moved. Few things turn me on more than strong curves and artful words; she who can move me with her stationery yet stun me with her movement. All the more when sung. I'm more interested in the whys and the hows than in the whats, whens, and wheres. I'm fond of athletic artsy girls, bohemian skirts, and amateur philosophers. I appreciate depths of passion, playfulness, self-examination/discovery, non sequiturs, sharp wit, British humor, extended metaphors, and tall tales. My friendships are deep; I value quality over quantity. I find strong more attractive than skinny. I spend much of my free time social dancing (swing/blues/fusion/WCS/tango) and solo dancing in my kitchen when Spotify blesses me with a particularly groove-inducing playlist. I also enjoy slacklining, powerlifting, barefoot[ing], parkour, athletic outdoor play, programming, writing songs and poetry, playing music, inventing things, playing [thinking/strategy] board games, eating delicious Paleo food, and geeking out about fitness, nutrition, design, and technology. Sometimes I even find time to DO those things!

Hmmm let see what about me....I don't usually write or talk much about myself. I believe actions speak louder than words. I'm blessed with many things in life that i truly do not deserve, like experiencing God loves and Mercy. I love Mother Mary! She will always be number one in my life :). God wants those who have to give to those who doesn't, therefore I enjoy helping people to come closer to the faith. Our faith is to be shares with others. I do not want to be a proud catholic but rather a humble one. Three principles I try to follow in this life are compassionate toward others (doesn't always work lol), never ever judge, and the last one I'll keep it between God and myself. Enough for now. Let chat!! This way we can learn more about each other :). "Ah my dear Mother, I will love thee always and forever." St Gemma

Above all things in this world, I try to put Christ 1st. I try to instill Christ love in my daughters by example, prayer, kindness towards others, & living a healthy life. One of the things that I love about living in San Diego is the access to parishes, Catholic events, fellowship & the amount of things to do here. I enjoy the "great outdoors", and would love to spend time with someone who does the same. We are so blessed to be so close to so many outdoor activities. Hiking, skiing, running, rock climbing, & flying are just a few of the things that I enjoy, or have enjoyed in my life. With all of that, there is the part of me that likes to create, tinker, & try to figure out solutions to problems. I have a very curious nature about me, and enjoy asking questions. Something that I hold in high regard is our military. I am the son of a retired Navy Chief, & he helped instill in me love & respect for our country & it's service members. My Mother is a retired nurse, who helped instill a sense of service & healing, towards others. Life has had its challenges, however I do feel very blessed to have the life I have. I've had the opportunity to travel all over the world, & I would love to do more. I was raised in The South, but I have planted my flag in this great city, and I'm here for the long haul. Occasionally a "y'all" might slip out followed by "yes sir/no sir" or "yes mam/no mam" while eating a bowl of grits & drinking a sweet iced tea. With that, I love eating & cooking: Mexican, Italian, Sushi, or a burger chased by some of the good local beer that we have in San Diego. I look forward to spending time with someone who shares my values, & whose values I share. I enjoy watching my kids grow & seeing their progress, mentally, spiritually, & emotionally. I love a good book, movie, politics & odd ball comedies. My mind is still in the past as far as some of my music choices go. When I say past, I mean 1930's-40's style Swing Jazz, or some music from 1980's punk rock (mostly The Ramones). Though Tchaikovsky, Mozart, & Verdi have been known to creep their way into the rotation as well. I do love contemporary Christian music, and feel very fortunate that the parish that I go to has that as part of their ministry. This is who I am in a nutshell.
  • Ronald, 58 from Glendora, CA
    58, Glendora, CA
I am recently a widower after a wonderful marriage of 30 years. I have three grown children, none of whom are local. In my youth I enjoyed playing basketball, but now must pursue less strenuous sports. I am in good health, and am active in my local parish church. I enjoy a great circle of Catholic friends locally. I also enjoy maintaining my home's garden. My culinary abilities are expanding; I do have some good recipes (if I do say so myself) :-) I enjoy dancing, entertaining, movies, and socializing with friends.

I am a person who loves good conversations. Good conversations go beyond the superficial and the cliched. There is a skill and an art to conversing well- especially in groups. Since good conversations are harder to find, I value people who can converse well. I greatly admire couples whose marriage has stood the test of time. The sight of happy children sitting close to their parents and their siblings in the pews during church services is one of life's great pleasures. Whenever possible, I like to talk with such spouses to learn what they feel makes marriages succeed. As a result, I think I've learned a few things. I am a "one woman forever" guy. So I choose carefully. Compatibility is the key. In courtship, rejection doesn't mean that the rejected person isn't a good, worthy, valuable person. It just means that the compatibility wasn't there. That's life; that's courtship. We move on to whatever else God has in store for us. (11/22/16 Update: There's currently a blog post titled "Incompatibility Shouldn't Be a Deal Breaker--Here's Why", that CatholicMatch has made available to everyone. Since compatibility is important to me, I wanted make a comment about the blog's main point. The blog's main point, in my opinion, is that people can be too picky in search of compatibility. I don't disagree with that point. So I am mindful of becoming too picky; maturity and life experience help me avoid that problem. (I'm not perfect in this regard but, since I don't have the expectations and standards of my "20-something" self, I am better than I used to be.) Instead, I am deliberate because I want to be considerate to myself, to my possible soulmate, and our family and friends. The mistake the blog post makes is the definition of compatibility that they use: "Merriam-Webster's definition for compatibility is 'able to exist or occur together without trouble or conflict'." I have to wonder: who expects zero troubles and conflicts? No adult expects that. For me at least, compatibility exists when there are no major irreconcilable differences; in that case, all other issues are resolvable by compromise and no one has to suffer great grief in silence. I think the blog post was well-intentioned but its conclusion is too simplistic due to its use of a flawed definition.) I kid people and I like to be kidded. My best friends are those who know how to kid people well. I also enjoy quiet time reading a book or cleaning or fixing something or running or whatever.

"I live the life I love! I love the life I live!" I was born and raised Catholic! I went to catholic school from 5th grade until my senior year of high school. I've received 4 of the 7 sacraments. I try to go to church every weekend, usually Saturday evening with my grandparents. When I'm not working nor going to church, I spend my time in a running group, go on hikes, watch sporting events, ride my bicycle, read and go to the gym. From time to time I try my best to get away and take a big trip once a year. In 2017 I plan on traveling to Hawaii! I'm also active with donating blood platelets every two weeks with Red Cross. I'm also heavily involved with my family. I have two beautiful nieces that I try to spend time with. I love my family and friends. Everyone that is in my life has a special place in my heart!

Hi! My name's Aldrick. I am a huge fan of the Tridentine Rite. I love incense and chant, and I look forward to meeting someone who likes or would like to experience the mass with incense and chant. What I most look forward to is meeting someone who I could connect with emotionally, and with whom I can pray and better myself with. I love bad puns, shooting guns, learning languages, and martial arts. If I had more time, I'd probably be cooking!
