*Photos taken 08/03/16, yeah I know I have a perfect face for radio :-) ! My name is Richard and after 38-years of service I am a recently retired police detective. I now do some consulting and training, and also some work helping the mental health community. But, all done on my schedule, which is one of the joys of retirement. I have two grown children who have always been my pride and joy. My son is married and my daughter working on finding her ideal match. Both are very successful. Yes, I am a proud dad. I am not a proud grandpa yet but hopefully it is in my future! I grew up in So. Calif. so I love the ocean and the beach. My near future plan is to relocate to San Antonio, TX. I love traveling to places that have some kind of water and beach. I mean, isn't playing sand volleyball, roasting something on an open fire, listening to the waves and watching the sun sink into the ocean just the best? During the day or night the beach is my favorite place to be. I don't have the beach body that I used to have (geesh...who does?) but I am committed to going to the gym 5-days a week and work with a trainer to stay healthy and in shape. I love all types of movies and documentaries and stimulating conversations. I like sitting outside on warm evenings and looking up at the amazing universe that God created. I am looking for someone who likes to laugh, hold hands, eat breakfast on the patio, and do fun spontaneous things. I am looking for someone who wants to join me as I do some of the things on my bucket list. Things like; going to the little town in Sicily where my grandfather, lived before he came to the USA (died before I was born), visiting the Vatican, see a show on Broadway, go back to Tahiti, jump out of a perfectly good plane (with a parachute), cooking classes, visit the Mayan ruins and Many other things. I admittedly have 2 vices; hot popcorn (yum) and occasionally I smoke a cigar (1 or 2 a week) but NEVER in the house, car, or around anyone it might annoy. Just when you thought I was perfect..ha ha!

Having been married for 52 years and my deceased wife's primary caregiver for the last 9 years, I haven't had much time for hobbies. I have written and self published a few books during this time and added to my stamp collection. I enjoy working in my yard, but no longer keep a big garden. I look forward to walking my keeshond dog and getting back to riding my bicycle as I did before my wife's prolong illness. My health is good and very important to me. This summer I returned to where I grew up in Southern Michigan and it really helped me see things more clearly as my wife passed away in July, 2015. I enjoy home, movies, eating out and over the last few years turned into a pretty good cook. I am not sure about remarriage at present, however that could change with the right woman.

Life, the wonderment and blessing of life every day. Waking up every morning walking down my driveway to pick up the morning paper looking forward to whatever blessing this new day will bring forth. Knowing that our God is there for me and with me every new day. Life Is Good! An impactive eighth grade art teacher that gifted me with the embryonic beginning of the love of art and my journey in becoming an architect. The experience of being an infantry combat leader in Vietnam, seeing life and death and the resultant great deepening of faith. And, the very most intimate faith experience ever, having my dearly departed wife, Marie Madeleine leave this world in my arms for our great promise in heaven. She dances the streets of gold! Staying active, skiing (70 days last year mostly at Vail and Beaver Creek) biking, and hiking (five 14teeners starting just last year). Scuba diving (just got my open water card this year in Cozumel) Following Colorado's professional and collegiate sports and athletic teams. Attending musical concerts, (every Rolling Stone tour since 1972 up to last year in Nashville) The Classical Bravo Colorado season and the Vail Dance Festival, The Lake Dillon Theatre Company's seasonal presentations, The new Aspen Art Museum, Avalanche Ranch weekends at Redstone with Mass at the Snowmass monastery, basically enjoying the Colorado mountain lifestyle and all it has to offer.
