65, Manzanola, COIt may not be as important what describes my likes, dislikes, experiences, and accomplishments as much as it is that, through the course of about six decades of life, I, as you, have survived the ups and downs of this Journey! Most of my adult life was spent in the service of others as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital, on an acute, locked evaluation team. (Have been hit, bitten, spat upon, lost teeth from being assaulted, and have had every bodily fluid one can think of thrown at me!) " Retired" now, just trying to stay afloat in these times. As a child, 'army brat', I traveled and lived with my family from Colorado, to Germany, to South Carolina, to Missouri, with several returns to, and grounding myself in, Colorado. The rhetorical question of the day, 'Do I wait at the top of the Empire State Building, hoping for my Love to meet me there? . . . Do I have the patience of St. Monica to know Cary Grant finally ended up in the arms of Deborah Kerr? . . . Or, not?' Not in the habit of taking pics of myself, so may update with some more later. Although starting as a blonde, hair color now is a mix of blonde, gray, dark, and 'balding'!
46, Littleton, COI just moved back to Colorado after spending 9 years in Arizona. I am glad to be back. Growing up in Colorado helped in my developing a great love of the outdoors. Growing up my family did plenty of camping and backpacking each summer. I also was in Boy Scouts and my troop went camping 11 months out of the year. I enjoy going hiking and camping during the summer and once winter comes I will head out to the mountains every chance I get to go cross-country skiing. While I am in the mountains, I also indulge in photography. My cubicle at work is covered with pictures I have taken. I'd very much like to meet someone who shares my love of the outdoors and really likes to get out and do things in the outdoors. In my free time, in addition to heading for the mountains, I can be found at the gym/pool (my favorite workout is swimming), dancing Tango or Salsa, or attending a concert or dance performance. I generally listen to classical and jazz, but also listen to an eclectic mix of other genres. My faith is rather important to me, but it is also a struggle. It is important that you are understanding about that.
38, Denver, COI knew a kid named Rodney while I was growing up who believed he could fly. He would build big ramps and jump his bike off of them, fly several large kites at once, and even broke his leg in several places jumping off a barn roof with his mother's curtains tied to his body like wings. These attempts were misguided, but he never stopped believing. Finally, when Rodney grew up, he went to flight school and now works as a pilot for Southwest. I never fly Southwest, because the off chance he could be flying my plane. He was always a little nuts. But that's beside the point. I've felt a lot like Rodney in attempting to find someone to share my life with. I've tried a lot of different ways to meet women, and have my fair share of scrapes and bruises to show for it. But I haven't stopped trying yet. I've tried internet dating before, with comically bad results. What can you learn about a person from a few questions and a couple paragraphs? I prefer more personal interaction, but work and other obligations have made that hard lately. My friends and co-workers have convinced me to give this another try, and what the heck - this could be the time I find my wings, right? I'm a lot more Humphrey Bogart than Cary Grant. And the fact that I use a reference that's almost three quarters of a century old probably says a lot about me. I'm old school, a bit rough around the edges, but I have a heart of gold and would do just about anything for my friends and family. My faith is evident in my actions, and not just the things I say. I travel a LOT, and enjoy exploring new things. I've been to over 20 countries from Asia and the Middle East to Europe to North America, but I always enjoy returning to the Mile High City. I'm creative, and enjoy the arts. Although I grew up in the foothills I really enjoy all that the city has to offer. I'm a sports nut, particularly a fan of football and soccer. I could give you a detailed list of likes and dislikes, personality traits and desires, but what fun would that be? Meeting someone new is always more enjoyable when it's an exchange. Reach out, and we can begin to get to know each other better. I promise - Being a Bogart is hardly ever boring.
27, Lafayette, COI have very recently moved to the Denver area. I look forward to each day and view it as a new adventure. Growing up I was active in martial arts and scouting. I have been training karate for 16 years and train on a regular basis. I really enjoy karate, and my Sensei (karate instructor) would sometimes comment how I would be smiling in class while training and even during sparring. I like to hike, backpack, camp, ski, and indoor rock climbing. I have hiked in the Rockies, Switzerland, and the Catskills. I like to read, play video games and board games like monopoly or yahtzee with friends. My best times with friends, however, have just been getting together and talking about a variety of subjects until the late hours of the evening. I like to travel, visit museums, and explore historic sites. I am open to trying new activities. I am a systems engineer. My work can be interesting and challenging. One part of my job that I like is solving problems that occur on the project. I have a curious nature and enjoy learning about almost anything. I have just moved to the Denver area to work on a new job designing spacecraft. My faith has always been important to me. I have always believed that everyone is part of Gods family. I have a great family and an awesome dog (she is a rescue with an unusual personality). My family provides encouragement when needed and they are supportive of my goals.
26, Golden, COMy name is Ian and I'm from Golden, Colorado. I'm an alumni of Benedictine College I'm quite reserved at first but once getting to know people or events I warm up and can talk about things. Even though I'm reserved, my friends say I'm outgoing since I know everyone. I'm not a naturally born leader but friends and family say that I'm a leader by example in my actions. In my spare time I enjoy watching TV, staying up to date with current events, writing, reading, video games, photography and video, and having an active lifestyle.
27, Littleton, COHi there! Thanks for checking out my profile! To describe my personality, I'd have to start by describing my parents. They're both great, but it's undeniable that my mom is the more outgoing one, and my dad is more reserved. I've decided that I'm a bit of a weird combination of them both. More reserved around people I don't know well, but a total goof around good friends. So when we meet for the first time, just know that behind the reserved outer shell, there's a total weirdo in there too, which could be good or bad I guess :) I'm a big sports fan, and played just about everything growing up. I played golf, basketball, and baseball (just 2 years of baseball) in high school and ended up playing golf in college. I still love playing golf or really any sport whenever I get the chance. I love hanging out with friends and family, catching a sporting event, watching movies, listening to music, and traveling.
21, Colorado Springs, COBeing Catholic is central to who I am and affects my life everyday! It's something I just can't imagine myself living without, and I know it will always be a core part of who I am! I am a Cradle Catholic, but it wasn't until the summer before my freshman year of high school that I really started taking the Faith seriously. And in regards to things OUTSIDE the Faith, I love to spend time outdoors and adventure/explore, play sports (soccer and tennis specifically), just relax, read, listen to music, and drink coffee. One of my favorite things to do is go to a coffee shop with friends and enjoy coffee while just relaxing and talking (although there's usually a chessboard involved as well)! I also love to volunteer with my free time and always strive to help others at every opportunity.
19, Kersey, CO*I love God, he is the most important part of my life. I live on a farm, and have found it to be quite peaceful compared to cities. I am simple and easy to talk to. I would say early catholic education has been a big influence on me as well as growing up in a catholic family.
37, Denver, COMy life has become more of an adventure than I ever dreamed. I expose hidden plots and travel to foreign lands. Seriously! I love to talk about good books and great thoughts. I like to tell a few jokes and quips, however bad, just to provoke an unexpected gut-busting laugh. I even indulge in learning (but not practicing!) the dark arts of modern politics. I seek to build and defend my community and my Church as best I can. Oh, and I really like being Irish-American. In my spare time I like to learn languages, to memorize Irish songs, and to go on hikes. I'm deeply attached to some friends who host a co-ed poker night at least monthly. I like to hang out at the Denver Press Club. I'm involved in a global affairs group called WorldDenver. I also like to teach people about the political process and help them become leaders in their community. Quirky thing though: despite all my socializing I'm actually an introvert! At some point I hope to return to the ski slopes and to the swing dance floor. Some long-time injuries have slowed me down. I was fully disabled for a few years, but I'm on the mend. This probably means no career for me in pro sports. But I'm deeply grateful the bad days are behind me.
21, Fort Collins, COI am passionate about protecting those who cannot protect themselves. I for some reason find myself wanting to watch over someone who I'm not responsible for at all. I can definitely see myself going into either law enforcement, local fire department or the military. I've been living the role of altar server and master of ceremonies for the past 11 years so I surely know the mass and its importance. (So far this sounds like a resume so I'll try to be more personal). My father was a good man until things got complicated, so my role models for the past 5-7 years have been priests and deacons which I spend a lot of time with. I have a lot of sisters and no brothers so I'm doing what I can to show them that there are still good men in the world, still knights who will fight the dragons of life for them. They are my world. Overall, I'm quite, honest and trying to be a good Christian.
