Orthodox, scholar, homebody. The main thing that I want from life is to work out my salvation, to which I think that married life can contribute. Next is to improve my intellect, to which I devote as much effort as I can, especially through reading. My intellectual activity includes my career: I am a teacher in a Catholic high school and an adjunct professor at NYU. My jobs, therefore, are not just for earning; they are a "life-work" (to borrow a phrase from Tolkien), as I go further along the path of intellectual achievement and take others with me. On a daily basis I get up and go to teach at the high school, where I often stay long after the end of the school-day because being a great teacher takes that extra effort; moreover, my commitment to doing my job well and improving every day, along with the personal satisfaction that comes from success, means that my work also takes on the nature of a very intense hobby. Accordingly the investment of time and effort that I put into my work, far beyond the minimum requirements, is similar to that which, for example, I observe my brother making on training for triathlons and marathons. On Tuesdays I go to New York and teach an evening class at NYU. On most evenings and weekends I seek the comfort of my home, especially settling myself in my library to read, or I enjoy the company of those people whom I have consciously chosen to include in my life. The number of such people is quite small--mostly family (including some cousins), a few long-time friends, and some of my colleagues--but I opt for quality over quantity in terms of my social circle. The activities that I enjoy with these people include watching movies, playing games, and simply having great conversations. I take seriously my citizenship in these United States, and with regard to politics I affirm the principles that Cardinal Ratzinger explained in 2004 in a letter on worthiness to receive Holy Communion. In terms of health my main goal is to stay trim. I value culture, by which I mean civilized culture, and so I try to avoid the more vulgar aspects of popular culture. I don't go clubbing, but I do like waltz and polka. I am not at all materialistic, and my aunt once called me "no-maintenance". Finally, if I may say so, I have a good sense of humor, which can vary from sarcastic to corny, and I can laugh at my idiosyncrasies.

Mmmm...I always love this question. Basically, I am a fun-loving person who has a wacky sense of humor, loves movies, broad range of music, reads a lot, etc. I had been a religious studying for the priesthood for nine years, and felt that it wasn't a good fit for me (or at least the Order I was associated with). I'm still trying to discern God's Will for my life, but, Thanks Be To God! I now have a permanent, full time job at Cabela's, The World's Greatest Outfitter (E. Hartford, CT). Think of Bob's Sporting Goods, but 500% better! I would describe my position as a Graphic Artist, since I'm responsible for either making or downloading signs from Corporate HQ, and to ensure that everything in the store is properly signed. I love the job since it allows me to use God's gift of creativity, and to know that what I do has a direct impact on helping our customers find what they're looking for. I am quite faithful to the Church and Her Teachings, and consider the Faith to be the priority in my life. I am a warm, compassionate man with deep feelings who doesn't hesitate to let someone whom I'm close to know how I'm feeling or what bothers me, etc. I'm good at singing (or at least I think so...at least I haven't been contacted by the police for disturbing the peace, ha, ha!), play both trumpet and french horn, and started to learn to play the piano. Though I don't have much sports ability (difficulty with depth perception), I don't mind playing sports where the ball is big enough to see (except basketball, since you'd have to call 911!). My favorite TV shows are all the CSI incarnations, Law and Order (original) and Criminal Intent, Criminal Minds, E-ring, all the Star Trek incarnations, anything except most sitcoms for two reasons: 1) American sitcoms tend to be unrealistic, banal, and contain gutter humor 2) when there is a good sitcom, they saddle it with a bad one they want to promote. I love the outdoors, and am an avid fan of camping (though I haven't had much opportunity in many years to do so). I love to try new food, and haven't met a cuisine I don't like. (By the way, how do you meet a ciusine??) Hopefully, this gives you an insight into my complex personality, but I'm willing to expand on anything hear or answer any questions you might have, or just plain chat away. Please be patient and come back for some pictures...it's taken me a while to find them from all the luggage and boxes from moving so much!!!

I like to watch TV in my free time. I also like to drink a lot of coffee through out the day. I start my day off by reading some spiritual books, as well as the bible. I like to go to the gym a few times a week.

Worked in television for over a decade then left to go to paramedic school. I don't camp, did it as a Boy (Eagle) Scout. I grew up on the water so as much as I like beaches I know their drawbacks. I believe the National Parks system is one of our greatest resources. I like helping people and want to make a difference.

I just re-visited and viewed this section for the first time in months and I must have copied and pasted the entire intro from somewhere. So here is my short but genuine introduction. This will be - like many other things - a work in progress. It seems I have spent the last decade and a half doing nothing much other than moving around from project to project and city to city without focusing on much else except for maybe work. Right now I am in Bristol,CT working on a project that will probably end after 12 months, I am a Software Engineer and have been since 1998 and have been a consultant since 2004 which is when most of the relocating started. It's not been an empty experience though. Quite the opposite, really. (to be cont;d)

Hello, I'm new to this site. I'm looking for a relationship that values, honesty, hard work, and the ability to relax and have some fun. It's not what you do, but who you do it with. If your with the right person, even a bad situation can be either fun, or easier to deal with. I'm looking for someone who is ready to start a new relationship, not just a pen pal.

I am an active 79 year old white widower who defies his age seeking a lady that practices the Catholic faith. When we meet you will see that I am a trim 5'-9", 140 pound male who is athletically fit. Contributing to this, is the 100's of miles bicycled during the Summer months, light weight workouts throughout the year and even yard work. To make my life more complete, I am looking for companionship so we can share dining, movies, theater, travelling and quiet times together.
