  • George, 67 from Cobalt, CT
    67, Cobalt, CT
I am at peace with myself and I live in the present moment. I bind myself to no material thing and seek harmony with all. Life should be simple and remain free of ambition, I do not advance myself but endlessly become myself. I see the interconnectedness of all people bound together by God's compassion.
  • Bernie, 55 from Avon, CT
    55, Avon, CT
I am now annulled but I have not figured out how to change my profile. I am a charismatic, born again catholic who enjoys the Mass, the Sacraments and reading the Bible. When I became born again, many years ago, I studied the Bible and our faith and although I heard many preachers talk against the teachings of the Catholic Church, I was able to learn from both and to reconcile the two together. I love to study and discuss the Word and how it affects our lifes. However, I am raising my beautiful children and I do not get to devote to time to study as much as I would like. I have learned that I do not know everything and God is continuing to work with me. I enjoy my relationship with the Lord and I have come to know Him better through the tough years. I also enjoy the many blessing He has given me. I listen to books on tape and discuss those books with my friends throughout the country. I have listened to Matthew Kelly and embrace his advice. I also loved The Help. I am originally from Kentucky and most of my family are now living in the south. Although I have lived in the northeast for more than thirty years, I consider myself a southerner. I also enjoy walking, coaching wrestling and fishing. I love having fun and playing with my children. I also enjoy watching them play
  • Joseph, 32 from Kent, CT
    32, Kent, CT
I am a high school teacher in rural Connecticut, just off the Appalachian Trail. I teach Latin and Greek and coach cross country. I spend much of my free time running or hiking on local trails. During the summers I study or travel, most recently to England, Ireland, and Greece. I majored in music in college and continue to practice the piano and organ as well as sing. After a few years of studying the violin, I'm now trying to learn fiddle tunes on the mandolin. Most of my time on the piano is spent with Bach and Rachmaninoff. I don't have a television, but I love movies. I enjoy a good classic film, but I'm also glad that Sharknado exists. If you think that Moonstruck was Nicolas Cage's greatest performance, we might be friends. I enjoy star charts, suspension bridges, four-part harmony, running uphill, the names of birds, summer thunderstorms, stained-glass windows, the sound of kites, the smell of rain, and the fog on the hills in the morning. I dislike coffee, chewing gum, free verse, card catalogs, card games, mind games, endnotes, wrong notes, books without maps, saxophones, cell phones, cellophane, and ballpoint pens.

I have a strong Christian faith and I am kind, caring, sincere, friendly, easy going, romantic, adventurous, and have a good sense of humor. I enjoy life and having fun. I especially enjoy travel, meeting and talking with family and friends, dining out, movies, music, dancing, photography, shopping, reading, walking, biking, hiking, and physical fitness activities at my local health club. My father, mother, brother, and friends have been the most influential in my life.
  • Jamie, 27 from Columbia, CT
    27, Columbia, CT
The most important and influential people in my life have always been my family. I love my parents and two siblings to death, and more than anything I wish to one day experience that same love and closeness in my own family that I build with my future wife. I was lucky enough to also be brought into church and a life of faith from the very beginning by my parents, and for that I am extremely grateful. This too I absolutely want to continue with my own family, as I believe it is this common faith and way of life through Christ and his word that has kept us together and so happy in our lives. I have always been an athlete and very passionate about sports and exercise and have a teaching degree as well. Two other big passions/hobbies of mine are traveling and dancing. I really try to love life and be grateful for all God has given me while trying to be the best person I can be with the help of God's word, and I am very happy and lucky enough to say that I am already living out several of my life-long dreams. :)

  • Brendan, 21 from New London, CT
    21, New London, CT
I grew up in a sorta big family, and they are super important to me... I'm close to my two younger brothers and two younger sisters and parents and try to spend time with them all, which is getting harder to do now that I live in CT and they live on the other side of the country! I love doing things outside.. Snowboarding, kayaking, sailing, mountain biking... You name it. Also love music--especially piano. I try to keep my faith central in my life and it's a huge part of who I am... Faith is definitely a roller coaster ride for me but Christ always brings me closer to him through everything. Currently a senior at the Coast Guard Academy, studying marine and environmental science with a focus in biology and oceanography. I also love Spanish and I'm always looking to practicing speaking it... I guess I'm also a foodie/beerie (word?), I love making/eating food and going to breweries... And I love to travel... My best bud is from Ecuador, so I sort of have a second family there! I'm a fan of dogs, nice people, and the ocean... I hate lines, traffic lights, horseflies, and my inability to grow respectable facial hair.
  • Jonathan, 24 from New Haven, CT
    24, New Haven, CT
I am a graduate student at Yale Divinity School! I love liturgy and biblical studies. Full disclosure: I'm not Catholic, but I have a great deal of respect for many of the Church's teachings and many of my close friends are Catholic! Anyhow, I thoroughly enjoy my studies and exploring the riches of our common Christian tradition. Besides studying theology, I majored in clarinet as an undergraduate and toured the country with both the St. Olaf Band and Orchestra. Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing soccer and engaging in word play (i.e. puns). Some the most influential experiences I have had include teaching kids about Jesus working as camp counselor in Colorado and traveling to the Holy Land with some of my ministry colleagues. My friends tell me that I'm very thoughtful, loyal, and passionate about my beliefs and faith.
