I am at peace with myself and I live in the present moment. I bind myself to no material thing and seek harmony with all. Life should be simple and remain free of ambition, I do not advance myself but endlessly become myself. I see the interconnectedness of all people bound together by God's compassion.

As for me, I'm 60, 5' 6, 150 lbs., exercise daily, and my personality type E/INFP, the Champion/Healer Idealist (rare personality type for men, so I'm told), actually explains why I'm enthusiastic, talkative, outgoing, kind, normal, considered a true friend one can always rely on and confide in, patient, clever, curious, helpful, balanced, playful, deeply passionate, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, sensitive, loving and dedicated to those close to me, creative, thankful, resilient, original, thorough, with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men, caring, imaginative, highly innovative, resolute, optimistic, mild mannered, unique, compassionate, adaptable, joyful, goal oriented, for truth justice and the American way, open minded, resourceful, never ever give up, loved by young and old and animals, flexible in small matters, idealistic, reliable, altruistic, Team player, funny, relentless, empathic (just may be my sixth sense), handy, nonconforming, single and never married, would love to be in a forever loving everlasting relationship, modest, liberally minded, always true to myself and always true to my faith beliefs and values. Yes, all that and more! But seriously, why go overboard when I may simply quote the great philosopher, Popeye the Sailor Man: I'am what I'am an' tha's all I'am. Irish and Eastern European and have both Irish (EU) and United States (US) citizenship and passports. Born and raised in beautiful rural Northeastern Connecticut, the Quiet Corner. Lived and worked in San Francisco, California awhile ago and now back in Connecticut. Love tropical sunshine as well as the snow in the mountains in the winter and the beach in the summer time. Like to play sports rather than just watch. Really enjoy cooking. Always looking to check out what's happening near and far. Finally tonight ... Spring is coming! A time for us to get out there in the sunshine and breathe the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful weather together. 'Til then ... Peace and "Love is the answer" (Special Thanks to The Supremes, Jiminy Cricket, Nick Lowe, John Lennon, and The Good Lord Jesus Christ Himself for the use of their quotations.)

I am looking to start a new and refreshing life. I became a widower over a year ago. I accept this phase in life and what greif has taught me. I am down to earth no fronts here. Listen to Bob Dylan and of course a big fan. Young at heart and thought. Love nature , the outdoors ,reading the sound of acoustic guitar. A hippie at heart . Like to dress well but comfortable. I have a beard but keep it neat. I'm soft spoken and like the same. Its the little things that make me happy. Hugs, holding hands and tender moments just being together. I don't have anything set in stone as far as the near future goes but every open minded about the possiblities. I just turned 60 on Nov. 22 but everyone says I don't look it . I have back problems but I'm very active. I enjoy Mass and go almost everyday. I know there is someone out there that is easy going and wants to experience life anew. God Bless everyone.

Hi there! :) I routinely participate in patriotic events, one of my most favorite and rewarding is, during the week of Veterans Day, giving presentations in grammar and middle schools. The staff and students have been are wonderful!! In 2012 I had the honor to do five of them in Shelton, Newtown and Amity. I was a volunteer for "Swim across The Sound" for eight years, a Symphony on Ice volunteer for six years and have been a Special Olympics volunteer for thirty years. Do a litte volunteering for TEAM as well. I am retired from the Navy as well as a position in engineering at Sikorsky Aircraft. I try to swim 13 laps each weekdayandorking on my house and yard which there never seems to be enough time for. I can fix most things.(getting to them might be the problem!) (Sorry if this sounds too much like a resume, but I believe it gives one a basic idea who I am.) Schools: City University, Bridgeport Engineering Institute, Many military technical, management and leadership schools. I enjoy spending time with people and am friendly, sensitive to others feelings, respectful, supportive of friends and family, witty, philosophical, humorous (puns are my forte) and down to earth. At this point in life I'm letting God drive (He always did anyway) and I'm taking my hands off the wheel (for the most part) :) There are a lot more things I would like to do but would enjoy the company of a nice lady in doing them... the restaurants, social events, days trips, site seeing, boat rides, wine by the fireplace and so forth. (I have the wine ,the fireplace and plenty of wood. :) I enjoy just about any wholesome activity. (Casinos and sports are not in my interest as well too much opulence- don't get me wrong, I like the Newport mansions.). I even enjoy shopping with a woman. (To me, that is part of having a lady in one's life!!) FYI, I have no immediate family but know many people who bring much joy into my life. I was brought up by wonderful, loving parents who I am eternally grateful for. My Dad treated my mother with respect, always opening the car door for her even when they just went shopping, and walking down the sidewalk on the outside . He was a good role model for me. I am traditional and believe in old time values. Currently reading "Rediscovering Catholicism". Thank you and wish you the very best! (PS: I return all respectful emails.)

I am no longer a paying member. My interests include cooking meals for friends, gardening, reading, listening to music and watching movies. Spending quiet time alone or with a close friend is special to me. Lately I have been feeling that I would like someone to be able to do things or go places with. I enjoy doing things outside and my main form of exercise is walking. I am conservative in my religion and my politics, although I am open minded and have friends with different views. I try to attend Mass as often as I can, which lately has been daily before work. I earn my living by programming computers, but I don't define myself as a computer programmer. I currently work full time, but have been considering cutting back so I can spend more time doing things that actually help someone. I like living in a suburban/rural setting and having a home where I have enough land to do things and that is not overcrowded and paved with cement.
