I feel I am a generous person who puts others before myself - sometimes to the point of self-stress. I enjoy working with my hands building and fixing things and am a very good handyman. I enjoy walks, going out to dinner, the theater and friendly parties. I also enjoy traveling, though I have never taken a cruise. I am a good listener and try to offer an opinion only when asked for one. I am still trying to lose the 25 lbs. put on when I quit smoking 7 years ago and I know I need a more motivated excersize program - working on that one! I have just recently retired from the aerospace field but do not intend to retire from the workforce completely. I own my own home, 2 vehicles, live alone and none of my children live in my state of residence. I think I'm the perfect person for someone looking for a long term relationship. In 'Birth Order' in the new profile I have listed myself as 'oldest' because there is no option for '2nd oldest', which I am.

Hi there! :) I routinely participate in patriotic events, one of my most favorite and rewarding is, during the week of Veterans Day, giving presentations in grammar and middle schools. The staff and students have been are wonderful!! In 2012 I had the honor to do five of them in Shelton, Newtown and Amity. I was a volunteer for "Swim across The Sound" for eight years, a Symphony on Ice volunteer for six years and have been a Special Olympics volunteer for thirty years. I am retired from the Navy as well as a position in engineering at Sikorsky Aircraft. I try to swim 13 laps each weekday and working on my house and yard which there never seems to be enough time for. I can fix most things.(getting to them might be the problem!) (Sorry if this sounds too much like a resume, but I believe it gives one a basic idea who I am.) Schools: City University, Bridgeport Engineering Institute, Many military technical, management and leadership schools. I enjoy spending time with people and am friendly, sensitive to others feelings, respectful, supportive of friends and family, witty, philosophical, humorous (puns are my forte) and down to earth. At this point in life I'm letting God drive (He always did anyway) and I'm taking my hands off the wheel (for the most part) :) There are a lot more things I would like to do but would enjoy the company of a nice lady in doing them... the restaurants, social events, days trips, site seeing, boat rides, wine by the fireplace and so forth. (I have the wine ,the fireplace and plenty of wood. :) I enjoy just about any wholesome activity. (Casinos and sports are not in my interest as well as too much opulence- don't get me wrong, I like the Newport mansions.). I even enjoy shopping with a woman. (To me, that is part of having a lady in one's life!!) FYI, I have no immediate family but know many people who bring much joy into my life. I was brought up by wonderful, loving parents who I am eternally grateful for. My Dad treated my mother with respect, always opening the car door for her even when they just went shopping, and walking down the sidewalk on the outside . He was a good role model for me. I am traditional and believe in old time values. Currently reading "Rediscovering Catholicism". Thank you and wish you the very best! (PS: I return all respectful emails.) References provided upon request. Just kidding!!! :)

Hi This is my first foray into online dating. I'm not really shy yet I'm a little nervous about this. I have two grown sons whom I spend time with and love very much. I golf and go to baseball in New York and love to spend the whole day there with a museum dinner and shopping with my younger son.Movies, theater, downtown cabaret, concerts all fun and are much better shared with the right person. Church- communion prayer very important for me the main reason I have chosen Catholicmatch. I enjoy the beach and sun and hope to travel. I owned a business (deli) that was 7 days 52 weeks a year so now is a time to do different things even though I still work full time. I would love to meet a kind women of varied interests who would like to share her life openly and deeply with some one she can trust and enjoy life with. Thanks

Hi! Outgoing, funny kind of science nerdy but love to play and watch sports Into arts and photography Music as well - play guitar and love to go to shows! I love long legs. Girly girls, tall for the most part - but all women possess beauty of their own. I love to caress and be caressed. It's important. Smell your perfume on me after you've left, waiting for your return. Strong yet feminine. Many say the same things. Likes what I like, chemistry, spending time together, cuddling. I love all that too! Oh and I know a lot about 'chemistry '! :) Do I believe in a soulmates? Yes! But soulmates at first meeting are very rare. I don't think we're born soulmates - but we become them. Sometimes at first sight, sometimes easily, but it takes work. I firmly believe the soulmate feeling starts with 'I've got you, and no matter what life throws our way, WE will get through it together'. Love - the only unstoppable force in the universe. Nothing can defeat it. I suppose this quote sums up my soulmate thoughts, simply but powerfully; Whats the difference? I asked him. Between the love of your life, and your soulmate? One is a choice, and one is not" Tarryn Fisher, 'Mud Vein'

Recently widowed (1 year) after 27 years of being in a great marriage with my best friend. I am retired and do alot of traveling around the states. I was in New Car Auto management for 25 years and have been retired for 8 years now. I am also a partner in a small LLC which gives me the opportunity to travel quite a bit during the year. I enjoy going out to dinner, a nice glass of wine or a friendly cocktail on special occasions and going to a casino to play my favorite game, craps all the time.

I love music, whether playing or listening to it. I can play a bunch of different instruments including guitar, brass, and percussion. I like watching TV and have binge watched many shows (some more than anyone probably should). I enjoy movies too, but I actually haven't seen a lot. I love my family and try to spend time with them often. I work as a Web Developer, aka, a professional nerd. Since I sit on a computer most of the day, I try to go to the gym a few times a week, mostly just to counter the hours of sitting. I have gotten into cooking recently and like trying to make new things. I actively work as a volunteer youth minister. I love working with the teens and watching them grow in their faith. I also am a part of my church's choir. For fun, I love to hangout with friends and have a game night or watch a movie. I am usually up to go out and grab a drink, too. A day trip to NYC to see show and explore is always a possibility. I am looking for someone who I can have a good conversation with, be adventurous with, and have a good time.
