Hi there. I'm a so-called "boomerang" DC resident as I left town for three years of law school, but recently returned to the area and thought Catholic Match would be a good way to meet some new people. Born and raised just outside Boston and one of six kids, I'm a big fan of camping, board games, politics, travel, history, and everything Boston sports (go Pats!). After undergrad, I worked in DC for four years- two as a first grade teacher (through Teach for America) and two at a legal think tank. And this past Fall, I returned to DC and to start work at a law firm. A cradle Catholic, I've gone through a bit of a conversion over the past few years, deepening my Catholic faith and taking its tenets (and blessings) seriously. I've been fortunate enough to work in Rome for several months and to take a pilgrimage to the Holy Land itself. I believe that a shared faith is essential in a relationship, and I hope to share my faith with any future girlfriends and with my eventual spouse.

I'm an attorney, military vet, and Knight of Columbus. I am currently a legislative fellow in the office of a U.S. Senator. I'm always trying to keep up with current events, politics, and cultural commentary (currently reading the late Judge Robert Bork's Slouching Towards Gomorrah). Big fan of National Review Online! Also baseball and Nintendo, generally of the classic Mario/Zelda variety. Friends would probably say I fell out of the 1950s. God, country, and the good fight.

Hello. My name is Alexander. I am currently a graduate student of statistics at American University, having recently graduated from AU studying mathematics, economics, and statistics. For the most part I like to take things in my life slow. Rushing is needlessly stressful, and to be honest is something hurriedly done worth doing. My faith is very important to me, and I am grateful to the Lord and His Holy Church for imparting light, grace, happiness, and hope. Accordingly, I realize that virtue is a very important goal for all men and women to attain. I try to live virtuously, and prefer the company of those who help me be virtuous. My hope is to help others live virtuously as well. Outside of my faith, I love video games. I am a big Nintendo fan. I wouldn't call myself an expert gamer, but instead a specialist. I generally have a few games that I like but I really like to delve into them. My favorites include Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, and Castlevania. I also like to learn about the general industry; studying sales numbers, learning about the culture, and perusing news about the industry. Further, I also like to read. I don't particularly have a preference in books.

Hello! I'm an convert from Anglicanism and LOVE being a Catholic! A friend once asked what drew me to the Church; was it theology, beauty or guidance from God? For me, all three were profoundly influential. I'm a part of the new Anglican Ordinariate established by Pope Benedict XVI. His devotion to keeping the liturgy solemn and beautiful have also had a great impact upon my faith journey. I converted in 2011 before my senior year of college. I have the privilege to say that during the period when most young adults lose their faith, I was able to find mine. I spend my free time reading theology or lives of the saints, and I particularly love works by Pope Benedict and Ven. Fulton Sheen. I am cheerful and devout (they aren't inimical to each other!), and enjoy listening to music, watching sports and visiting museums. Thank you for visiting my page, and God Bless you!

What is there to say about me? I'm an old-fashioned guy who likes to have fun and try new things. I'm very outspoken and don't hesitate to say what I'm thinking ... This usually doesn't make for the best first impression, but people eventually come to find that I'm a pretty amicable guy. I have very strong opinions about many things, and respect other people who do, even if we disagree. I'm hoping to find someone who can hold their own and challenge me to be a better man. If you want to know more, don't hesitate to contact me!

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition. NICOLAS
