Hi, I'm Matt. I'm a multifaceted guy. I am generally a pretty open-minded guy and have friends from many different walks of life. I like to do just about anything. For example, my weekend could easily encompass (in no particular order) Latin dancing, a movie, dinner with friends, a trip to the museum, Frisbee golf, church, watching a game and a trip to the target range). I will try just about anything at least once. I like to learn. I was raised a catholic as a child and as I have grown it is now a choice. I am one of the lucky ones when it comes to my family. I love them dearly. We are all pretty close. Mom and Dad are very happy together, (35 years), brother and sister (twins), and another younger brother. I am the oldest. The extended family is very close as well; Think "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," but done Portuguese style. My Polish side is also very close.

What is there to say about me? I'm an old-fashioned guy who likes to have fun and try new things. I'm very outspoken and don't hesitate to say what I'm thinking ... This usually doesn't make for the best first impression, but people eventually come to find that I'm a pretty amicable guy. I have very strong opinions about many things, and respect other people who do, even if we disagree. I'm hoping to find someone who can hold their own and challenge me to be a better man. If you want to know more, don't hesitate to contact me!

I am a passionate NY sports fan. Love the NY Jets, Nets, and Yankees. So in other words a bit of a cynic. Love experiences over events, my fondest memories are usually spontaneous over planned events. I have an opinion on everything, but love talking and debating most things. I am looking for someone that can laugh at the same terrible movies as I do. Also someone who is willing to always try something once, and experience all that the world has to offer. Also, cannot love cats.

I graduated from Georgetown University this past May with a double major in Government and Psychology, and just accepted a job on Capitol Hill as a Congressional aide. My plan is to work and eventually begin graduate school in the DC area. I enjoy singing (men's a Capella), skiing, playing baseball and basketball, working out, and socializing; the more friends the better!

If there was a pyramid of greatness, it would include pilosophy, theology, movies (especially Star Wars), baseball, and food. Also my friends would probably object if they got left out and then I'd never hear the end of it, so let's throw them in the pyramid as well.. I don't read often, but it's usually Chesterton, Lewis, Pieper, and Aquinas. I look forward to one day convincing everyone in society to adopt a sophisticated Thomistic metaphysics that lays the foundation for a relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm sure they'll listen, right?

I am a very intense, passionate person, though that's more on the inside. On the outside, I am rather warm, gentle, sensitive to the people and things around me, and at times a bit shy. I may appear to be quiet and reserved, especially if I don't know you very well, but I possess a big heart that feels deeply for both strangers and those I love. I am quite protective of my loved ones and I am deeply concerned for their wellbeing. People often call the INFJ personality type, which is my type, the "people scientist". I find that this description fits me quite well! I am very interested in learning about people, what moves them, how they think. I enjoy spending time in semi-quiet, semi-populated places like coffee shops where I am able to explore a new book or listen to music, while also delighting in the presence and mystery of other people without always having to engage them directly, which is sometimes a bit challenging for this introvert. I also have a ravenous mind that's always picking apart some problem or stimulating question, trying to view it from every possible angle. I definitely think about things deeply. My imagination is often found roaming through hidden, leafy gardens or scratchy, sandy deserts, lost in adventures that even I can't keep up with! However, most fail to make it past my lips and out into the light. My imagination, when not rudely distracting me from something important, does enable me to wax poetic when I set myself to it. I love playing with images and language. Poetry provides me with a creative outlet for all of my deep, sometimes tumultuous thoughts and feelings. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, reading fantasy novels and other fiction, watching Netflix, cooking, and baking. Despite a serious sweet tooth, I try to eat healthily, and I would like to get into hiking and running. I may be rather intense, but I am also known to burst into silliness quite regularly when surrounded by my close friends, which tend to be few in number, yet held in deep love and loyalty. Finding joy in life is incredibly important to me. I believe that we should be deeply sincere in the pursuit of holiness, yet humbly at peace with our lowliness and inability to grow without the Lord's hand. A humble confidence, rooted in the knowledge of God's love for us, will give us the grace to tread the narrow way with a genuine smile on our faces. In the words of St. Teresa of Avila, "God deliver us from sour-faced saints!"

My passion is promoting peace between the faithful of the great world religions. I have a particular concern for human rights in the Middle East and North Africa. I have a background in theology and political science. My roles models are my parents and grandparents, who were excellent examples of Christ. I try and honor them by trying my best to be as hardworking and ethical as I can be. An incredibly powerful experience for me was serving my country as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years in Morocco. I was blessed to have developed meaningful relationships with Moroccans and Americans from backgrounds different than my own. In my leisure time, I enjoy practicing my Catholic faith, studying foreign languages, reading, exercising and walking aimlessly.
