55, Evansville, INIm a man who follows his own unique way. I tend to enjoy activities that would best be described as somewhat off the beaten path, hidden treasures that require a special taste to find and enjoy, as opposed to more mainstream popular entertainment. I have a calm and relaxing temperament. I'm not big on partying, not big on the bar scene (though I do like visiting a bar once in a while to hear a good band). I live a pretty quiet life, but by "quiet" I don't mean boring or empty by any stretch! I don't get when other people complain about being bored. My problem is that there isn't enough time to do all the things I wish I could do. I'm into bicycling, as in long afternoon trips into the country that lasts several hours. I'm a strong believer in healthful eating and exercising. I learned to play a fiddle (or violin if you prefer) here in middle-age, with very little previous musical experience. I also like to read, mostly non-fiction. I like movies, but I tend to like old classics and indie type films as opposed to the blockbusters. I have to admit I'm not the best person in the world about staying on top of the pop-culture scene, and that's mainly by choice. I value practical skills and resourcefulness. I've also devoted a good deal of time the last couple of years to rebuilding the engine of a vintage MG sports car. I can be getting my fingers dirty on a hands-on project some afternoon and then be attending a lecture or a fine arts performance that evening - and fully engaged in both. I thank my very saintly mother and grandparents for instilling the values in me that I still try to live by today.
56, Huntington, INI'm passionate about my faith and helping at my parish. My most influential experience was a trip to EWTN. My family, friends and parish priest are my greatest influences. I love spending time with my family, friends, and helping out at my friends meat shop.
47, Jasper, INWhat can I say...Nice Guy looking for that lasting relationship that everyone is searching for in life. Is it out there? Hope so. Only time will tell for all of us. Every day you have a choice....a choice to be Happy or Unhappy! If you take the more optimistic approach, we will have something in common immediately! What I am looking for on Catholic Match? How about "Normal"!!! I truly seek a woman that knows who she is and is not "Fake". Someone that is able to see the good in any situation. Faith based is important because any solid relationship is based on God. So going to church on a weekly basis is very very important ladies. Do you have a wonderful sense of humor? Do you love to travel? Do you want to go to the occasional Broadway shows, nice romantic dinner, long walk on the beach, just to get outside and enjoy all that God has given us? Things I am not looking for....1) someone that is who they are not. 2) a woman that has to "change" the guy she is with (ie Me), 3) someone that cannot make a decision on their own. 4) More to come later Being a father of the most wonderful, well-rounded and well-behaved girl on this planet, I am not looking for a woman that feels she has to be the mother of my daughter... But if a special lady is out there for me, she needs to understand that sharing time with my incredible daughter is so very important (she loves the parks, the beaches and yes, Disney on an annual basis).
34, Rensselaer, INI am passionate about the pro-life movement, math, books (Tolkien's my favorite), watching sports (esp. Colts & Pacers), and saying silly things. Walks through the woods are charming. I'm also a good listener and an extrovert (well, just barely -- I need alone time too, and am a bit shy). Learning about the lives of the saints also has a special attraction for me; as well as collecting beautiful quotes (lately I've been enjoying Gerard Manley Hopkins).
38, Culver, INHi. I am very intentional about meeting the right person. I decided to try CatholicMatch as it seems a good way to learn about a potential match without any pressure. Thanks for reading my page. Please take a look at my interview questions in the next column, too. God bless!
36, South Bend, INI teach philosophy to college students at the University of Notre Dame, for which I am sometimes adored, sometimes despised, depending on the current constitution of their souls! I have several pieces of paper that declare me to be a master of this or that, and I'm working on getting another piece of paper that will declare me to be a doctor, though not the kind of doctor that you want around if you have appendicitis or have suffered a gunshot wound. Sorry! I do know where the closest hospital is, though, and am not afraid to drive really fast if the occasion demands it. I love teaching and my students. Mine is a most divine task: to wake up sleeping hearts and make them wonder many marvelous things, not the least of which is whether: "Great fleas have little fleas, Upon their backs to bite 'em; And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum. And great fleas themselves in turn, have greater fleas to go on, While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on." If I do not, who will? p.s. I have a minor obsession with Aristotle. He really shouldn't have died. I still have a few questions.
29, Fort Wayne, INI am the fourth of nine children (all home-schooled) raised in a devout Catholic family. I was raised on a homestead in Fort Wayne and grew up around animals. I enjoy science-fiction, history, astronomy, watching movies, and travel.
53, Evansville, INI am passionate about my Catholic faith, my son and his new bride and family. The most influential people in my life have been, of course, my parents, my great uncle who was a priest and my son. I enjoy the outdoors. I really enjoy hiking and camping. I am introverted if someone tries to set me down and look at me for conversation until I become very comfortable with that person. I engage in conversation much better when on a walk or goofing around.
33, Lake Station, INHi. I'm Mike I love to sing. I even sing at random in public sometimes though I've only been a church choir member for 2 years (tenor)... Humor is God's good gift and levity in our trials. The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart. -Proverbs 17:3 - I broke my leg last fall and am still recovering. I put off looking for a spouse for a long time pouring myself into work for several years my eyes always on the next hurtle but: In his heart a man plots his course but The Lord determines his steps -Proverbs 16:9 ... It's been tough but The Lord is teaching me humility and patience, and I've seen Him working through his people in my life in this process. Humility is strength not weakness. I have learned that the less we think of ourselves the kinder we are to others. We all fall impossibly short of the Glory of God. I smoke regularly (less lately) and I do want to quit -again. This is a tough thing to confess on a Catholic site. I have a hundred other flaws as we all do, but a good match is one where we are accountable to each other. I'm looking for a woman with whom to grow in faith and stewardship in service to God together. I've worked in the automotive field for almost 10 years - 6 of it self employed and was doing fairly well. I had to stay with my folks for a while but moved back in February and hope to be back in swing relatively soon. I have two dogs named Chassis and Rango... Two of my favorite verses are: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. -John 1:1 & 14
23, Lafayette, INMusic is my life. I grew up with it and now I get to use my passion to teach music to children in grades K-8. I teach K-5 General Music, 5th Grade Beginning Band, 6-8 Concert Band, and 6-8 Choir so I am never bored! I know God led me on this path and I look forward to what else he has planned. I am a huge hockey fan and I love to travel and explore. My favorite hockey team is the St. Louis Blues (but I can go for the Blackhawks too), and I've been to Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and the Vatican. I definitely want to explore as much of the world as possible.
45, Lebanon, INI am an engineer by profession so I tend to be analytical and pragmatic. However, the older I get, the more important I find it is to try my best to be more of a people person, and I work hard to come out of my introverted shell, and I try to be a better person in general. I like living in a rural area, and own two horses which I currently board. Someday soon I would like to buy a 10-15 acre spread so I can keep them on my own place. I like reading, hiking and photography. I enjoy being a 4H project leader in my county and attend church on a regular basis.
30, Clarksville, INI'm passionate about my Catholic faith. I'm a full time therapist, writer and family man. I believe humor is the spice of life, I love believe in enjoying life with travel, dedication to my profession and having fun with games of all types (card, video games). I also love watching my television shows. My friends are important to me, as are the stories we've cultivated over the years. I love amusement parks and my nephew, who is usually my companion, has always been tall enough to tackle every roller coaster imaginable with me! Also a fan of water parks.
