"Hi. I'm Joe. Here are some tidbits about me: The things that have influenced me the most in my life so far has been my family handing down values; the Catholic church; and my time both as a youth and as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts. The things that I look forward to the most are enjoying time with family and friends. I can usually enjoy most everything and I try to make the most out of everything. I have a really great sense of humor. I enjoy being outdoors. Being outdoors is a good way to relax and unwind. Camping, hiking/walking, enjoying nature and exploring new areas are some great ways to enjoy leisure time.

My description of myself. I am an Irishman, a Catholic, and I take pleasure in the little things in life! I enjoy Cardinal baseball, golf, music and spending time with my kids(only 3 girls still at home). I believe every moment is to be enjoyed.(I feel it's important to get out of my comfort zone) I cherish my time with my kids and am blessed with a great family and friends. I feel everyone I have contact with has been an influence on me, either positive or negative. I try to be a positive influence on everyone I'm in contact with. My perfect weekend would include a round of golf, a casual lunch, a Cardinal baseball game, a great dinner and some awesome music. I also enjoy taking time to relax.. On a cold day I could sit in my recliner read a book or watch a movie. A few to many cold days this year.

  • Ryan, 25 from Des Moines, IA
    25, Des Moines, IA
Hey there, my name is Ryan. To be honest, I have been somewhat reluctant to try online dating, but after some thought and prayer, I decided that this could be a great venue to meet a person with faith and values similar to my own. Just a little about myself, I grew up in the country outside of a small town in NW Iowa and attended a Catholic High School. I then went to Loras College for my Bachelors and followed that up with my Masters from the University of South Dakota. I recently gained employment in the Des Moines area as a Recruiter and I am excited to see where my career in the Human Resources field leads. My Catholic faith was initially cultivated by my 2 amazing parents and now as an adult, it has been something that I actively have chosen to maintain and develop. I love the Catholic Church and I enjoy learning more and more about it. The ProLife cause is very important to me and I also try to take part in some service work when the right opportunities arise. As I mentioned, my family is extremely important to me. In addition to my parents, I have one brother, whom I consider my best friend; he is married now and I have grown close with his wife (a convert to Catholicism). I am also very close with many of my cousins and extended family. I consider myself social and I very much enjoy being around my friends. I like to go out on the weekends occasionally, but I also can be content staying in and watching Netflix with my dog Bray. I am a HUGE Notre Dame football fan and I try to get to one game every fall. I also am a big fan of the Green Bay Packers. I love being in nature. This includes kayaking, hiking, exercising, working outside with my dad and most importantly, walking my dog! I also love to travel. My family was fortunate enough to go on many vacations as I grew up and I've been to 46 states so far! I also had the chance to study abroad in Ireland and Italy during my time as an undergrad. This time away from friends and family really helped me grow as a person and I had some incredible experiences. It also was a chance to really experience and appreciate my Irish heritage! I loved my time in Europe and hope to return a few times in the future. Overall, I like to have fun, I enjoy people but I have learned a lot from being on my own, I value my faith, family and friends and I am open to what ever this endeavor leads to, whether its a relationship or just a few new friends. God Bless!
  • Toby, 55 from Davenport, IA

Hi. I consider myself a 'glass half-full' type of person with an optimistic outlook on life. I'm 54 years of age, in good health, a father of a 20-year-old son who was adopted from India as a 14-month old, professionally employed and well-educated, financially secure, a devout Catholic, recently divorced, working on an annulment and looking for a female friend who is looking for a good guy to get to know. What am I passionate about? I love live music of all types, motorcycling (yes, I wear a helmet and protective gear all the time!), I love being a father, I'm an owner of a happy dog (or does she own me?), owning my own home, politics and I'm an avid reader of current events, spy novels and thrillers. People and experiences that have been most influential in my life include my parents (Albert and Rita), my brothers and sister (Tom, Tim, Ted, Teresa, Terry and Thad...notice a trend? Our names all start with 'T') and especially my two oldest brothers Tom and Tim, I've had the good fortune of getting a great education throughout my life including university and graduate school, I've been elected to public office twice in my life and have been very active in politics for all of my adult life. I've lived in six states but I'm primarily a Midwesterner. I've also had the good fortune of being married for 26 years although the marriage failed and has now ended. I harbor no ill will or bitterness toward my ex-wife but I am ready to move on.

I am passionate about almost everything. I do a lot of different activities and would do everything as a hobby if I could. I love my work, my family, spending time with friends, getting out doors, exercising and getting involved with opportunities to grow as a person.

Love of life and companionship are a starting point. I am a self-employed (semi-retired) business owner and do a lot of volunteering. Knights of Columbus takes a lot of my time. My real enjoyment comes from just spending time with someone whether it be shopping, sports (watching), museums, movies, eating out or strolling and talking.

  • Macario, 38 from Davenport, IA

A few months ago I got to Mass early and sat in the middle of a pew. As people started coming in I noticed that a family sat in front of me, then a family on one side, then the other side and a large family sat behind me. I smiled watching the moms and dads moving seats and picking up a kid and putting them down to pick up another. For the first time in my life I thought "Where is my family? I should be here at Mass with my wife and children." Why did the Lord choose to put this in my heart now at the age of 38? Since that morning I have been praying for guidance and clarification. Looking back at my life and my relationships I realized that it's only because of my own selfishness and awful decisions that lead to me being single. God, in his mercy, wanted to put this feeling in my heart. I have never seriously thought about marriage until recently. Speaking with both my Grandmothers about this they said "You still have time." With that word of encouragement and the constant reminder of the Catholic Match commercials on Relevant Radio, I have decided to be proactive about it.
