Very active, athletic, good humored, always willing trying something new, laid back, and happy go lucky. I am also very family oriented and enjoy spending time with my family at every available opportunity(museums, movies, dinner, or vacations). I also enjoy hanging out and playing with my dogs, Cain and Boo. In my spare time I am busy working around my new house, playing league ball(soccer, volleyball, softball, & flag football - not necessarily in that order), rock climbing, or out volunteering. My volunteering has lead me to Rebuilding Together, Nature Conservancy (tree planting, plant rescues), and Susan Komen Foundation(5K run). I enjoy going to plays and have gone to my first opera (getting cultured slowly but in process)

I personally don't drink coffee, and so that presents a problem in asking someone to grab coffee for a first date for instance. So naturally, my next thought, was a catholic singles site. Anyway, I thought this sounded interesting and I enjoy meeting new people.

Easy Going. Probably too easy a fault. Honest, sincere, a very good sense of humor. Extremely Catholic. I used to work in the Louisiana/Texas oilfields. I do have a Degree in Education. I gave up being a teacher a long time ago. I worked on a Master's Degree and never completed it. I have 4 wonderful children that are all grown up and 10 beautiful grandchildren ( 5boys, 5girls ). I even speak Cajun French and that is a language that is fading away. I believe very much in old school ways. I was, after all, brought up that way. Today I am recuperating from an oilfield related illness. Everything is coming along OK and recovery is constant.

I watch sports on TV, surf the internet, play cards, and do chores around the house. I like to travel to places I have not seen; would like to see the Northwest with a traveling companion. Go to casino's once in awhile.

Was raised by my grandparents and went to a Paroquial school education- first eleven grades in a small town and then moved to the city capital to finalize my last three high school years. Graduated with a master degree in engineering, received a commissioned in the US Army, and presently enjoying retirement from both professions. As a member of the Knight of Columbus, I traveled the state in various capacities serving the church, youth, community, Special Olympics, family, mentally disabled, and pro-life programs. Also enjoy traveling immensely, both within and outside the States; passionate about music and dancing as well meeting and knowing people. Like to read poetry as well as self-improvement books; watching movies, romantic, comedy, action or mystery; a person who listen with empathy; with ability to work under extreme pressure and challenge; and, able to converse fluently in Spanish. T wo of my philosophies: (1) life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved and (2) dont wait for a crisis to discover what is important in your life. One of my favorites Bible quote: rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Hope that the above narrative and portrayal encourage an invitation to meet and know each other, either over coffee, walk, or lunch.
  • Gerald, 30 from Monroe, LA

I'm a good guy who loves to enjoy life. I finished grad school at LSU, got a job that I love, and am looking for someone to be with. I am the oldest of five and have a close knit extended family that is important to me. I have varied and eclectic tastes in most things and enjoy pretty much any activity from hunting with my dad and brothers to spending the day in museums. I am as comfortable in jeans as I am in a suit and tie. I'm fairly outgoing but have been known to have occasional bouts of shyness around new people. I am looking for a smart, independent woman who loves life, doesn't take herself too seriously, and has an idea of where life is taking her.
  • Phillip, 33 from New Orleans, LA

I'm a fairly secular left-wing Catholic. I try to be a good Catholic but I believe in a more existential belief where we need to be the change we want to see or we'll never see it. I'm liberal in every sense of the word and while I don't expect most of the matches to be similar to that but I can hope..
  • Tim, 39 from Thibodaux, LA
    39, Thibodaux, LA
What I look forward to the most is spending time with my 10-year-old daughter. I guess our time together is a little more special and harder to take for granted because I don't get to see her that often. I'm passionate about my faith mainly because I had to go through so much to get it. My experiences include college, marriage, fatherhood, a successful career, divorce and forgiveness. Even though it's been rough at times, it's been worth it because my experiences have brought me to a deeper spiritual level, and there's something special about that. I think sometimes the more spiritual a person is, the harder life gets. I enjoy playing golf, working out, and running on my free time - any kind of exercise really. And I'm a huge Cubs fan. I also enjoy spending time in Adoration daily. I value honesty, compassion & selflessness as I think these are virtues we don't see enough of in today's world.
  • Nick, 67 from Metairie, LA
    67, Metairie, LA
I like the outdoors. I canoe, bike ride, hike, birdwatch and go camping. I belong to the Louisiana Master Naturalists of New Orleans (which entails volunteer work and continuing education) as well as The Sierra Club and The Nature Conservancy. Besides enjoying the outdoors I also enjoy traveling, having been to many states out West. Have also been to Mexico, Canada and Italy and look forward to future travels. Will go to Zion National Park in Utah later this year. In my leisure time I like to go dancing. I belong to the Northshore Cajun Dancers who have a monthly dance in Abita Springs. I also belong to the Crescent City International Folk Dancers. We enjoy folk dancing each week in Metairie. Also enjoy swing and Contra dancing.
