57, Silver Spring, MDI grew up in Ohio and moved to Maryland after college. After a successful career, i am fortunate to retire which allows me to take on a second career if desired. I am still growing and learning about the importance of faith and the many aspects which help us live a balanced and happy life. I enjoy sailing and being around the water. I have raced sailboats rather successfully, and I still like to go out and daysail or cruise. Being on the water brings a retreat from the fast paced world which we live. I attend mass every weekend, I have put a priority on this and usually find a nearby church even on the weekends when I am sailing. I come from a family of five children. We all get together about once a year.
35, Rockville, MDLooking for intelligence and humor? Hopefully I can provide those. Plans for the immediate future include developing a large scale neural model of the brain that can perform several tasks, riding some charity bike rides, finding a girlfriend (hopefully not under a rock), and making some kind of important contribution to science. I am currently a postdoc at the National Institute of Deafness and other Communication Disorders at the National Institutes of Health; I work in the Brain Imaging and Modeling Section. My goal is to someday become a college professor, but that is on hold while I am postdocing. My doctoral research used mathematical models from physics and applying them to medical data. Doing this should be able to help determine the causes of certain diseases. I have also done work in knot theory and geographic profiling. I have a few hobbies, but am keeping some space open for new hobbies. I enjoy reading about science, technology, math, politics, history, sci-fi, etc. I also keep up my Lego building skills when younger relatives visit. My main physical activity is riding my road bike. I love the freedom and sense of accomplishment that a good hard ride gives me. It also allows me to eat some foods that aren't the healthiest. I also like exploring new areas on my bike, particularly if there are steep hills and mountains. Flat to rolling terrain is okay also. Now to sell myself. I have a nice family that gets along well. My parents have been married for over 40 years. I have my finances in order and have no outstanding debts. I have 2 nieces and 5 nephews. I have been able to do some traveling and am looking to travel more in the future. I am an Eagle Scout. Things I like to do, but don't do frequently enough: canoeing/kayaking, camping, hiking, swimming, and traveling. I think I would like to meet someone who likes to do some of those activities. My life philosophy is never to give up no matter what the odds or how bad you feel. So if I am overly relentless let me know and I will go away. In politics I lean conservative. This means I dont want the government taking care of everything. It is possible to find better solutions via NGOs, etc. I detest abortion, but any other policy options are certainly worth exploring. I did policy debate in high school with a best result was third in PA state tournament. If any of this strikes your interest (even if it is just a little bit) let me know. I don't come across as very confident, but it is there.
68, Westminster, MDHi, I'm back on here searching for a nice Catholic lady who shares my values and world view on most subjects. I'm a cradle-Catholic raised in a Catholic home down south. I attended parochial schools for 12 years and also served as an altar boy. I agree with most Church teachings but do question some others. We can talk about that later. I enjoy golf and try playing whenever I have the opportunity. Because my dad died when I was only 14, I didn't have much of a positive male role model growing up. I had to learn by doing, which meant I made a lot of mistakes. The one constant in my life was Jesus Christ. Although I may have left the church many times as a young adult, whenever a crisis occurred, I always found myself back in the pew asking for forgiveness. I found comfort in confession, apparently I was in there more times that I would like to remember, and always took solace in the advise given me by priest.
54, Annapolis, MDAfter living in the Greater Richmond, VA area for the past year, I am in the process of taking a position in a great company in the Greater DC area and living (at least on a part-time basis) in the Baltimore/Washington/Annapolis area. Bouncing between Richmond and DC will be "interesting" to say the least. I am looking forward to starting the next chapter in my life and moving closer to my children. Like most of us, I am attempting to find the right "balance" in my life...God, family, profession, friends (And YES, in that order)...everything else is just gravy. I have 3 young children whom I absolutely adore and I cannot wait until I can see them an a very regular basis once more. Thank you for looking. If you feel I am not a match for you, I wish you good luck as you reach out to meet your special someone.
58, Clements, MDI will return and fill this out properly at a later date. For now, I am retired on disability and can no longer drive. I also have difficulty walking and getting up from a seated position. I don't walk on the beach and the only hobby that I continue to enjoy is my classic oldsmobile street rod, which is almost ready to go on the road.
49, Bel Air, MDWhat ever happened to romance? You know? ..you meet, get to know one another, see if there is chemistry, have fun/laugh often, flowers for no reason/a note just because I thought of you, that anticipation of when will I see you/hear from you. If you felt it, you know its real. Life is SHORT... FORGIVE quickly, KISS slowly, LOVE truly, LAUGH uncontrollably. I am a gentleman and treat a woman with respect (chivalry, manners). I believe honesty, loyalty, trust, openness, compromise, and communication are part of any relationship. I am kind, caring, loyal, romantic, witty; good sense of humor, can laugh at myself (others do too), love smiles (especially if a woman shares some of hers). I am attentive and very affectionate (even in public)..hand-holder, hug giver... Big heart and a huge capacity to love (through anything), supportive and good listener. My faith is important to me, I try to live it and raise my children by it. My life is full of many blessings and graces from HIM! I believe love is unconditional :) I am open-minded and accept people as they are. Looking for friendship to start with and build from there. I am a retired state trooper. I live in a rural county, country life is great but I do like to venture into city life-now and then. I enjoy reading, music, sports (especially football), hiking, biking, fishing, shooting, cooking, grilling and barbecuing...and my dogs (a lab and a swissy). I love to hang out with family and friends and cook something they'll love. Going out is just as good as staying in and cooking with someone special. I like to take time to get to know someone, if rushed, you sometimes miss the little things. Sometimes the simple pleasures in life are the best. Things that mean so much: hand holding, a note, a hug at the right time, helping someone. I think a woman and I do not have to be completely alike or share ALL the same interests (we are individuals)...she should be some things, I am not...to make me whole not a half. I believe love is a decision, I will share it with the one gal that fits. A partnership where each enhances the life of the other person. Be her refuge/her safety..her rock/her stability. A real man will always be with a woman, standing by her through good times and bad. I have two children, and take this cautiously but with optimism. I prefer slow at first, but do not fear commitment if the right woman comes along.
64, Clarksburg, MDHi, and thank you for reading my profile. I would like to meet a woman, who lives relatively close to the DC metro area or Baltimore metro area, so that driving or meeting would not be burdensome for either of us. First, I have a medium to large frame / build (need to lose some weight and I am working at it), but was very athletic and participated in various sports for a lot of years. I'm open to discussing my varied sports interests and see what we have in common. I'm a 33 year employee in U. S. government agencies; have A Master's degree in Community Planning from the University of Maryland; and I live in Clarksburg, MD and work in Germantown, MD. Also, I have an extroverted personality (ENFJ), and I am very comfortable with meeting new people. Also, I am accepting of other persons' beliefs and values. I enjoy being romantic, planning romantic outings, giving and getting surprises, and value couple time, when and where it is appropriate, and I am with the right woman. My hobbies / interests include: woodworking; snow skiing; the beach and other water activities (e.g., sailing and SCUBA diving); movies / TV (various types of movies / programs); Open Wheel (i.e., Indy or Formula 1) and Vintage Car racing; Corvettes and Porsches; investments; science and engineering (nature and environmental documentaries, oceanography, etc.) computer hardware, software, and other technology; reading; Sci-Fi and space / astronomy; Sudoku; gemstones and gemological information; and Warner Brothers / Looney Tunes cartoon characters (e.g., the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote). My online life includes searching for: first and foremost --- a woman friend and eventual partner; investment and business information; computer and technology, and scientific information; woodworking information, news and other information, genealogy and history information, and various other interests --- more to talk about with you.
28, Towson, MDHi! I was born and raised in NJ, and moved down to Maryland for work after college. Getting to know Baltimore over the past few years has been great, and I still love going back to Philly, NYC, or DC to visit friends. I work in the video game industry, so I obviously have a nerdy side, but I also love outdoor adventures, particularly hiking, camping, and sailing. I'm also passionate about music and theater, and recently have been involved in various community theater productions in the area.
