I am widowed with 4 children and 5.75 wonderful grandchildren. My latest granddaughter is 3 years 6 months old and lives a mile and a half from me. Seeing her smile reminds me of the warmth of our Father's Love. I am a retired international Macro-economist. My first adult job was as a Crypto-logic Mathematician. My oldest son is a systems analyst and ad of 2 of my grandchildren and is member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). My oldest daughter is a minister (DOC) and mother of 2 of my grandchildren. The next daughter is a message therapist single and lives with my other daughter and her family in Oakland, California she was a Catholic but no longer believes. My youngest son is also he once considered being an Orthodox Jew, then in his first 2 years of college considered becoming a priest. He is now a DOC as well and is married to a woman he met in college. He and his wife are responsible for 1.75 grandchildren. My youngest son works as analyst preventing mortgage fraud The joys in my life are my family, my service as a Eucharistic minister and my being Paul to Timothy for several friends. My most heartfelt desire that the USA Catholic church would grow like the church in Edmonton,Alberta. The most significant experiences were my 16 years of Catholic education. The Benedictine nuns and fantastic laymen and women who taught me in Grade school and High school. The philosophy and theology teachers and math teachers i had at St Thomas College were awesome. In my last semester in college i had a 3.8 GPA taking 4 math courses and 1 course in Math econ. I also helped defeat the mos powerful president in US history during the Vietnam war in the Wisconsin 1968 primary. LBJ is certainly in heaven in heaven as preserved the Kennedy-Johnson civil rights legacy at the cost of his premature death in the years after he left office. The great Jesuit priests at Loyola retreat house in Faulkner, Md and the nuns and priest retreat directors at the now closed Dominican retreat house in Northern Virginia were influential in my spiritual development.

I am obsessively introspective and that colors my approach to my relationship with Christ and other relationships which make up my life. Those people and experiences which have been most influential on me have been my parents as well as a variety of life experiences which I am happy to share with someone whom I get to know. Those things I enjoy doing with my leisure time include reading non-fiction; having relatively deep conversations about topics I know or do not know; getting back into physical fitness through running; going to a restaurant and enjoying the atmosphere including the company I may keep.

I am 100% committed to promoting a culture of life and love. I walked from Dallas, TX to Washington,DC with Crossroads in 2004. That experience is largely why I decided to study bioethics and to try to think more deeply about what it means to build a culture of life. I am a man who is passionate about living for the glory of God. I love finding God in the big and little things, in all of the gifts He sends us. I delight in the little things which make up a life full of love and joy. I love Divine Mercy. I think that mercy breaks down the barriers that keep us apart. I want to live my life with purpose and with a mission. I like things simple yet beautiful.

I have always been interested in figuring out how things work which led me in the direction of a career in engineering, but God had different plans for me and I am now teaching at a Catholic high school. Ever since, I have spent most of my time working with kids as they discover their own passions and callings. I spend some free time trying to be active, playing volleyball mostly, and enjoy being outdoors when possible. Other than that, I have been fortunate for my many friends bringing me closer to Christ.

I am an aspiring scholar (or at least a perspiring scholar) working towards my PhD in philosophy at the Catholic University of America. I am fascinated by all things history, philosophy or theology-related, and I enjoy writing fiction in my spare time. My Catholic faith is deeply intertwined with my artistic and intellectual interests, and my first stop whenever I visit the National Art Gallery is always the medieval exhibit. My heroes in faith include Saint Augustine and Pope Benedict XVI, whose writings helped inspire my conversion to Catholicism. I also love animals, and I grew up with a pair of Australian Shepherds, a Border Collie, a Beagle and numerous cats, one of whom still lives with me in my apartment. I have also had a lizard, a turtle, a hermit crab and a pair of hamsters, all of whom were a lot more interactive than you might expect them to be. While I have a pretty sprawling family history, I have always been particularly close to my parents. They are truly the best people I know, and I owe all of my good qualities to them. Other random and/or bafflingly obscure interests of mine include dinosaurs, Japan, world mythology, Ray Harryhausen movies, Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager, but not Deep Space Nine or Enterprise and definitely not Star Trek: Into Darkness. That one's a deal-breaker.
