UPDATE, AS OF FEB. 2014: I've been divorced for many years, twice actually. I never pursued an annulment, even though seven priests have suggested it. Now with greater devotion to pleasing the Lord, It is clear to me that if I say the right things in the right way, and line up the right witnesses, the Church will grant the annulment, and so if it is just that simple to manipulate, it may be licit, but can it be valid? Until I resolve this conflict, I am not eligible to be married in the Church, and I do not want to lead anyone astray with romantic feelings of a future relationship with me. If you are seeking friendship only, feel free to send me a message. I have three sons. The youngest is 25, next at 30, and the oldest is 33 and married, so now I have a daughter, too. I earned an MBA four years ago, and started a new career in the fuel industry, plus I am building a network marketing business. For fun, I also work at the Detroit Tigers baseball games. I am active with the US Taxpayers Party of Michigan, which nominated me to run as the candidate for the Wayne State University Board of Governors. All this keeps me very busy, and a friend recently told me, "You don't have time for a girlfriend!" I am now a member of a parish following the Society of Pope St. Pius X. Thanks be to God, Benedict XVI lifted the excommunication of the SSPX bishops by JPII. Thankfully also, I kept my grandfather's missal, for we pray the mass in Latin.

I feel that a strong foundation in faith and morals is fundamental to a person's well-being and the success of all relationships. To that end, I attend mass weekly and accept all of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Having a technical background, I am always interested in gaining a better understanding of how things work in our world. I enjoy working with computers, playing soccer, walleyball, horseback riding & quiet walks in a park. I appreciate the little things in life.

I am a Vietnam vet. Don't talk about myself much. Been widowed 7 years. I am just a nice guy, get along with almost everyone. I'm looking for companionship, love and a good cook! LOL My wife and I were together 28 years before she went to be with the Lord. I'm honest, trustworthy, loving. I'm on retirement/disability. Tell you more about that later. Like I said, I'm a nice guy, but not perfect .

I'm a born and raised Catholic with two brothers and have lived in Michigan my whole life. I've been a Chef since I was 15 and have always enjoyed cooking and caring for my family and those I care about. I moved from my home town at a young age and as I entered high school lost passion for the Church. However after my Grandfather passed I felt a strong need to reconnect with the Church and my faith was strengthened greatly. My daily focus is to do the will of God through prayer and my everyday actions, particularly in attending Mass every Sunday, and when possible on weekdays. I love other languages and cultures, and am especially fond of history, something my Dad gave me a passion for. I like to read quite a bit and also like doing yard work, working out, writing, playing guitar, and am a huge fan of Anime. I also practice two Martial Arts, RyuKyu Kempo and Wing Chun.

I'm a bohemian scholar of the humanities, art and literature with an intense interest in movies, a pipe smoking writer and artist looking for his Muse, a gentle lady of empathy, compassion, and understanding who enjoys the same and shares my Catholic devotion to Christ and His Church. My special inspirations in my journey to work my way through college are my college teachers who acted as my mentors. I pride myself on being a gentleman who adores women as God's most beautiful creation, to be treated with gentleness, respect and empathy. I can promise this: you will find I am the most unusual and gentle man you will ever meet.

I'm Michael. I currently go to school for accounting, and am writing a Catholic science fiction series as a hobby. I enjoy ice hockey, soccer, some gaming, reading, and (of course) writing. I keep my moral standards high and close to me, which is why I never curse or partake in crude humor. I spent five years at a minor seminary discerning a vocation to the priesthood, and though God told me that this amazing vocation is not my calling, I still loved the formation, and as a result I know Catholic doctrine quite thoroughly...and I can almost speak Latin. I'm very conservative and traditional in my beliefs, much thanks to my amazing and downright holy parents.

Important disclaimer from the outset is that I decided to join the site mostly to try to meet new people who share a deep commitment to the Faith, so I'm primaryly just looking to meet new friends right now, but I'm open to God's will regarding where a strong friendship could lead.

I am currently working full-time and going to law school full-time. (Law school is the worst by the way, don't go, get your PhD in something you love.) I am not really sure I have time to date, but every now and then I see a young couple, clearly in love, perhaps pushing a stroller and I turn to my reflection in the window and say "why no for me?" in ASL to the ape-man staring back at me. I love dogs, friends, and family, and feel those distinctions are arbitrary. I take life seriously (I swear) but you would not know it from the way I like to constantly joke around. As I bumble through life I learn more and more what is important to me in my potential significant other. I want to meet someone with firmly-held moral beliefs, a love of laughter, and a desire to improve themselves. I don't pretend to be a paragon of virtue, but I do my best to exhibit these qualities. I don't find a lot of time for it these days, but I enjoy drawing, painting, and writing fiction. I have never been a big sports fan. At heart, I am really a giant nerd, and by that I mean I think history is endlessly fascinating. I enjoy long phone conversations with friends, sleeping in on the weekends, and laughing at myself when I do something stupid. -----------------------------------SPOILERS--------------------------- I have five best friends I see or talk to one weekend a month. We have all been good friends for a long time (my most recent friendship is over a decade old, others over two decades.) That being said, I've never really considered "meeting new people" exciting.
