50, Walled Lake, MII try to place God first and let the rest of my life fit in where it will. I'm deeply religious, but also practical, well read, love science & math. I'm an electrical engineer but I spent some time in the seminary, before deciding I was called to the lay life. It is nice having one foot in both worlds. I enjoy working hard, mentally and physically, then doing the opposite when I get off work: sports, recreation, some sort of "play" activity. No long distance relationships, please, though I am open to having pen pals and we will see if either of our travel plans overlap.
35, Ypsilanti, MILife is meaningless without Jesus and his Spirit. He makes himself so present. I'm just trying to figure out what his ultimate plan is for me. I believe he is calling me to step beyond myself to live for another and eventually for a family. I enjoy thought provoking conversations filled with humor, perhaps over a glass of a good cab or malbec. I really enjoy being physically active. This is how I spend a lot of my free time. I love rock climbing (indoors, mostly), and Capoeira. On the other hand, I also find ideas and cleverly used language compelling, so I like to learn about philosophy and technology and to read good books (Chesterton, ftw). I also enjoy anime, manga, video games and retro cartoons though they don't take a lot of my time these days. Cooking is fun, especially when it is done for others, and even more when it is done with others. I don't eat out very often, but I do appreciate "haute cuisine" from time to time and I'm always interested in trying new things. I spent a year in seminary. It was great, but it turns out that God isn't calling my to be a diocesan priest. I'm still grateful for all the friends I made and the growth I experienced there. I also spent a few semesters in Japan when I was studying Japanese. The thought of spring cherry blossoms and summer festivals still makes me nostalgic.
50, Auburn Hills, MII am a 49 yr old male who is financially sound. I was divorced in 2001 and consequently had the marriage annulled. This was a good lesson in Canon Law for me. I was constantly asked if I was getting married. That was not my intention for getting my marriage annulled. If I decide to marry again, it will be in a Catholic Church. I have two wonderful children from my first marriage. I work in the tri county area for an automotive parts supplier. I have a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and I am currently pursuing a Masters degree. I attend mass regularly. In fact I am there so much, many people have commented that I have a vocation. I have actually been considering the Diaconite. This is very serious though. There is intense scrutiny as to your motivation. The church wants to know that this is not a personal accomplishment for you rather a commitment to be Christ to others. Very deep. I also play an instrument in the church band. This is something I did throughout high school and stopped for 22 yrs. Just a year ago, I picked up my instrument and worked my way into the band. It has been a blessing. God working through me. Plus I have fun doing it. My church is definitely filled with the Holy Spirit. Have you ever seen a Catholic Mass where the congregation gives a standing ovation after the processional?? Granted they were already standing but the ovation was icing on the cake. I love the charimastic post vatican II renewal. As it was put to me "mass should be fun". I agree and I can see why so many fall away from the Catholic Church. Some masses are just not fun.
59, Ann Arbor, MIDevout Catholic - if you use phrases like "er, yes it's not in the Catechism, but it's in the "spirit" of Vatican II" we prolly wouldn't get along. Starting to get a little gray, but I told my hair that was o.k. as long as they all stayed put just where they were, and seems like they are all o.k. with that. I noted I don't eat out often, but I'd like to, it's one of the reasons for signing up here. I've been told by some people that I have a good sense of humor. Exercise often, typically during lunchtime at work when I can. Im in pretty good shape, most exercise is aerobic (elliptical , bike, etc). I like (good) beer, and I do drink, but typically limit my drinking to weekends/holidays/vacations. I have dabbled in Catholic apologetics, both on-line and elsewhere, and have learned quite a bit of doctrine/Catholic history through my study. Favorite EWTN show is The Journey Home. I attend a charismatic parish but being charismatic (or not) is not a big concern. I am a Catholic that is charismatic, not the other way around, and its not essential by any means. I believe the doctrine of papal infallibility would not be so strictly defined, but would extend to *all* matters a pope teaches on (including all his Super Bowl picks) , if all popes were Polish. My favorite saint is St. Bubba, who is the patron saint of Lost Fumbles. I have a pretty good job, also I have a mentally ill brother who I kind of look after he lives at a group home but I handle his finances, look after some of his needs, etc, - so moving out of SE Mich is just not going to happen. I have a number of family members in the area who wouldnt want me to leave either. However, I have no problem with driving 2-3 hours to see someone/take them out to dinner/etc if it looks like it would be fun.. Dunno where signing on to this site is going to lead to, but just going out with friends (as much as I like them) is getting a little old. Im a college football fan and Saturdays this coming fall you will find me at Ann Arbors main cathedral, Michigan Stadium. I realize this is a kind of stream-of-consciousness information dump, and if you are an English teacher you are probably really appalled right now, but Im a computer geek, for crying out loud, you should be happy I can write at all. One last thing, I used to have to wear a tie every day at work, but its strictly jeans/casual now, and I love it. Im pretty casual.
37, Flushing, MIBorn and raised Catholic in the mitten state! I love being Catholic, and I love the richness and depth of the faith. I'm in the midst of planning and leading retreats for youth on a traveling ministry team similar to the National Evangelization Team. My interests can be described as meat and potatoes.... with a little parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. If you know the reference, you get bonus points.. I'm kind of a guy's guy who can work on cars, shoot guns, talk rock and roll trivia, play guitar, but turn around and talk about what's happening in the Church, saints, or your latest endeavor in arts and crafts.
29, Saline, MIHi, I'm Andrew. I am the type of person that seeks out challenges, in every aspect of life. I love strategy games like chess, and sports like tennis, soccer, and basketball. I also enjoy going to movies, riding my bicycle, singing and hanging out with my friends. I have never been the type of person that goes to parties all the time, but I can be a very friendly and caring person in a more quiet setting. One thing I found as a student is that I really enjoy tutoring other people, because helping someone understand a subject that they were struggling with is a very rewarding experience. In my experience, life is the most joyful when I am serving others.
38, Iron Mountain, MII am of strong faith and turn to our Lord daily. I am a proud father, have a job I enjoy and spend time with youth sports. Looking for a Christ centered relationship. Not looking for perfect, everybody fails, it's what you take away and learn from your struggles in life.
31, Grand Rapids, MIMy grandparents said they met on CM so I thought I'd give it a try! Okay, that's obviously not true but I am excited that I finally made it on here. I'm a normal guy. I try to be the best Christian possible while often failing epicly. I love my job and I live close to family and with 4 of the coolest guys imaginable. I have a built in complacency alarm. Every now and then I need to change things up, explore something or somewhere new. As a result, I travel fairly frequently (a couple of my pics are from my recent Scotland/Ireland trip!), . I love wine, sushi and avocados. I'm also slowly learning to cook (I'm talking Salmon & Stuffed Bell Peppers, not Mac-n-Cheese). I swing dance and I can fake most other dances if needed. Disclaimers: First, I don't have a nice car, it's ugly.... and I love it. Second, I get super competitive, and if we play a game I will probably win. Fair warning.
29, Detroit, MITheres only a few things I care about in life: God, my church, my Family, my boys, my body, helping others, my students, my career, and my Harley. Was a martial arts instructor and life coach for a while, thought I needed to redirect my life to Law. I guess God does work in mysterious ways.
39, Detroit, MIMy name is Joshua David. I'm a singer, performer by passion, but consultant by trade I sing at nursing homes all over the country for part of my job. I have a personal relationship with Jesus and am looking for a woman with a similar relationship with him.
36, Ann Arbor, MIFirst I should say that I'm really grateful for my Faith. I've grown deeper every year with every group of friends since high school. And it never gets old and dry! I'm definitely only interested in meeting someone with the same Christian morals and values, so I'm happy for a site like this! I'm lucky to be the youngest in my family of 6, most of whom really helped form me in the Faith. I've had really good influences from my siblings growing up, and I got to watch their lives unfold years ahead of mine. I've formed really deep relationships with some of them; I really appreciate deep relationships! My career is in nutrition, natural health, and chiropractic. I have a lot of passion for the whole topic, and I'm always interested in food! I like figuring out how to create interesting dishes. I especially like making healthy desserts that taste like unhealthy desserts! Great food is always fun, and healthy food makes people happy :):) I love to play! Indoors, outdoors, whatever (although I have my limits when it's below freezing! My newest hobby is volleyball. I love all kinds of things: hiking, mountain biking, college football, making kombucha tea, watching fireworks, camping....
