35, Ypsilanti, MILife is meaningless without Jesus and his Spirit. He makes himself so present. I'm just trying to figure out what his ultimate plan is for me. I believe he is calling me to step beyond myself to live for another and eventually for a family. I enjoy thought provoking conversations filled with humor, perhaps over a glass of a good cab or malbec. I really enjoy being physically active. This is how I spend a lot of my free time. I love rock climbing (indoors, mostly), and Capoeira. On the other hand, I also find ideas and cleverly used language compelling, so I like to learn about philosophy and technology and to read good books (Chesterton, ftw). I also enjoy anime, manga, video games and retro cartoons though they don't take a lot of my time these days. Cooking is fun, especially when it is done for others, and even more when it is done with others. I don't eat out very often, but I do appreciate "haute cuisine" from time to time and I'm always interested in trying new things. I spent a year in seminary. It was great, but it turns out that God isn't calling my to be a diocesan priest. I'm still grateful for all the friends I made and the growth I experienced there. I also spent a few semesters in Japan when I was studying Japanese. The thought of spring cherry blossoms and summer festivals still makes me nostalgic.
59, Ann Arbor, MIDevout Catholic - if you use phrases like "er, yes it's not in the Catechism, but it's in the "spirit" of Vatican II" we prolly wouldn't get along. Starting to get a little gray, but I told my hair that was o.k. as long as they all stayed put just where they were, and seems like they are all o.k. with that. I noted I don't eat out often, but I'd like to, it's one of the reasons for signing up here. I've been told by some people that I have a good sense of humor. Exercise often, typically during lunchtime at work when I can. Im in pretty good shape, most exercise is aerobic (elliptical , bike, etc). I like (good) beer, and I do drink, but typically limit my drinking to weekends/holidays/vacations. I have dabbled in Catholic apologetics, both on-line and elsewhere, and have learned quite a bit of doctrine/Catholic history through my study. Favorite EWTN show is The Journey Home. I attend a charismatic parish but being charismatic (or not) is not a big concern. I am a Catholic that is charismatic, not the other way around, and its not essential by any means. I believe the doctrine of papal infallibility would not be so strictly defined, but would extend to *all* matters a pope teaches on (including all his Super Bowl picks) , if all popes were Polish. My favorite saint is St. Bubba, who is the patron saint of Lost Fumbles. I have a pretty good job, also I have a mentally ill brother who I kind of look after he lives at a group home but I handle his finances, look after some of his needs, etc, - so moving out of SE Mich is just not going to happen. I have a number of family members in the area who wouldnt want me to leave either. However, I have no problem with driving 2-3 hours to see someone/take them out to dinner/etc if it looks like it would be fun.. Dunno where signing on to this site is going to lead to, but just going out with friends (as much as I like them) is getting a little old. Im a college football fan and Saturdays this coming fall you will find me at Ann Arbors main cathedral, Michigan Stadium. I realize this is a kind of stream-of-consciousness information dump, and if you are an English teacher you are probably really appalled right now, but Im a computer geek, for crying out loud, you should be happy I can write at all. One last thing, I used to have to wear a tie every day at work, but its strictly jeans/casual now, and I love it. Im pretty casual.
24, Grand Blanc, MII am Catholic and love to play music whenever I can for mass and adoration. I lived in a formation house for young men which aided in my personal prayer and spiritual life. I am really close to my brother and have thought about different vocations that could be options for me.
72, Ann Arbor, MII enjoy my hermitage (a cabin on a lake ). I am blessed with 3 children and 14 grandchildren. My family is my wealth and my joy. I am a charismatic, ecuminical, roman catholic christian who is cynical, opinionated and a bit of a curmudgeon. I like mysteries, entertaining movies, walks, day trips, estate sales, people watching and good company. I also enjoy card and board games. I am looking for a best friend and then we will see what happens. I am a good listener and a night person not an early bird.
43, Ypsilanti, MIHave you ever asked "Are there any good men out there anymore?" Well here is one of them. I am here looking for one of the good women out there, hopefully you. Caring, loving, understanding. These are the words which describe me. My aunt told me that my young 2nd cousin asked her one time on their ride home after visiting "Why isn't Jason married? He is so pleasant, nice looking, and has good hair." I thought that was so cute and I was humbled by her observation. It got me thinking and it made me step back and evaluate my self perception. I realized that she was absolutely right. I don't need to apologize for who I am. It's awesome how children tell it like it is. I now embrace my qualities which make me one of the "good men." If you really want a "good man," here I am. Along with this, I have withstood extraordinary challenges in life. Because of this, I have extraordinary character, perseverance and compassion. I have been blessed with a very kind heart and very good values. I feel things deeply. This helps me be compassionate and very loving. On the lighter side of life, I am a fun person who has a good sense of humor and knows how to have a good time. I get along with others easily. I am friendly, and extremely loyal.
38, Ypsilanti, MII am a 38 year old never married, devout Catholic. I enjoy going to new restaurants and movies.I also enjoyed biking and hiking in my free time, and occasionally miniature golf game is fun also. My mom and Dad have been the most influential in my life and spiritual upbringing.
30, Saline, MIHi, I'm Andrew. I am the type of person that seeks out challenges, in every aspect of life. I love strategy games like chess, and sports like tennis, soccer, and basketball. I also enjoy going to movies, riding my bicycle, singing and hanging out with my friends. I have never been the type of person that goes to parties all the time, but I can be a very friendly and caring person in a more quiet setting. One thing I found as a student is that I really enjoy tutoring other people, because helping someone understand a subject that they were struggling with is a very rewarding experience. In my experience, life is the most joyful when I am serving others.
28, Ann Arbor, MII enjoy long walks off short docks, and the activities that follow. I enjoy competitive events, my favorites are: broomball, ultimate Frisbee, disc golf, soccer, and your mom jokes. With my free time I also like spending time: with people, learning guitar and/or singing, and car rides.
37, Ann Arbor, MIHello! I am an active, loving, and tenacious man! I love playing sports or activities like hiking or mountain biking. I've always enjoyed a little health sports competition. I enjoy college football (although I'm not a fanatic!), and enjoy playing volleyball. I also enjoy cooking, and I really like finding a tasty dishes and figuring out how to make a really healthy version of it. I love quality foods! But honestly, I enjoy eating food more than cooking it. I like movies, but I don't like it when they are agenda-driven. I love a good story more than action movies. One of my all-time favorite is Shawshank Redemption! I also like a good comedy. I'm lucky to be the youngest in my family of 6. I had lots of brothers and sisters to rough-house with. My brothers and I all wrestled; we had a great time, but we had a pretty rowdy sibling rivalry growing up! I appreciated having lots of siblings; most of all I I appreciated being the youngest and watching and learning from everybody ahead of me. It gave me a great perspective on life! I really love pursuing big goals, and following something I'm passionate about! I don't think I'd ever last in a typical 9-5 job. I believe that God will bring about amazing things when we truly submit our gifts and talents to Him!
49, Dewitt, MII enjoy laughing and making people laugh. Cooking and baking are high on my favorite things list. They are a relatively quick way to share something wonderful. The best conversations and connections seem to take place as people linger over food. My friends consider me to be witty and someone who likes to cleverly banter back and forth. They say I am great matured but a bit mischievous, a classy kind of guy. I consider myself to be loving, kind, honest and spiritual- giving thanks daily for the blessing in my life. I am intelligent, down to earth, have a great memory and love to learn. I believe it is key for a relationship to be built on mutual feelings of respect, admiration, affirmation and deep, loving affection. Antonie de Saint-Exupery said "Life has taught us that love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction" I seek someone who feels it is important to walk with me, in the same direction and share days and nights filled with joy. I always look for the best in others, see the glass half full and watch for rainbows after it rains.
