I usually think before I act. I believe deeply in personal freedom and individual responsibility. I believe that actions have consequences, and people need to accept the consequences of their actions if they are to learn from their mistakes and grow. I believe that compassion plays a role to play in my life encouraging people to take care of themselves. In an emergency, of course, you're there to offer help and if someone has helped you out in the past there is no question about your loyalty. Whenever it is realistic, I am convinced people should take care of themselves. I devote adequate time to taking care of my own needs and wants because it makes me happy with my life and because that's what I truly believe every person should do. I cherish personal independence for myself and others. I like the way things are in my life. The ideas and beliefs that have served me well serve me still. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," and as far as I'm concerned, "It ain't broke." I've held on to these beliefs for a long time, and held on earnestly. Novelty and intellectual experiments and "the next new idea" hold some interest for me. I like the practical, down-to-earth ways of thinking and believing and living my life that have served me so well. We're born with the capacity to feel deeply, so it's as natural as breathing to experience a range of emotions. Fear and joy and sadness, anger and shame and disgust lie somewhere within each of us. I believe I am a person who is emotionally steady. Some days I want to hang out by myself, not answer the phone ,and make the world go away. The next day I am oot and aboot. It may be the phases of the moon, or something I ate; some days are just like that and then there are the days where everything goes right - which are to be cherished as they are few and far between. To be with others or to be alone are equally good. Sometimes I am more comfortable alone or with one or two friends, while other times I like the crowd at a parade or a fair. By the way, I don't do Twitter any more and if you find me on Facebook, it's not me - I've never done Facebook. LDR is a place I can drive to and be able to do 5 dates in a week for at least 4 weeks in a row.

  • Timothy, 69 from Grand Rapids, MN
    69, Grand Rapids, MN
I am a retired high school teacher of German language. For thirty-two years I lived and taught in Germany. I am passionate about our Catholic faith. Having just moved to Grand Rapids very recently, I am still getting settled in. I plan on attending daily Mass. I love Holy Mother Church and all her teachings. I would very much like to meet a like-minded Catholic woman who is also passionate about our faith. I am a non-smoker and have a very infrequent alcoholic drink. I have never taken an illegal drug...and am healthy...mentally, physically and spiritually. I am looking for the same in a woman.

i wish I could feed the world stop wars am compassionate about the human condition there are some exceptions to no man is infallible not even the pope why do I say this the abuse cases are terrible polarization of society could undo us all I will deny no one a meal as a former officer in the K of C with church and community awards I find myself in the woods with a terrible hardship the can I remarry in church my wife had it annulled after 25 years and married her brother in law in the church so where does that leave me ? a greek cafe owner taught me a valuable lesson in SD in 1968 be charitable sometimes with issues there are times when doctrine and no discussion can lead to a death so compassion has to be there

while most of the faith questions are black and white in answers there are mitigating conditions to consider the life of the person or family I am very grateful that the church came into my life I was an active member of the K of C and I have many awards for service I have been annulled so that my wife could remarry I do not know where that leaves me as a dedicated convert but the church turned a blind eye to her marrying an in law which depressed me oh well I love animals rural living but can live in city as a former Cleveland fellow I am tolerant of others as I learned a long time ago this is USA and we are in it together I wish to have that one last chance to bring love into a woman's life dine out dance walk in park see USA I am on SS and can do part time work if needed from an old line family good health ns no drugs clear record no DWI no temper like a good steak or thick spaghetti sauce am coffee at local cafe would prefer to photo an animal do not hunt seek 50-69 lady I love cooking as a former commercial cook am not that computer literate 4th generation college I follow politics as it will lead us one direction or another but hopefully not the wrong path a true democracy is not caving into the whims of minorities but at least listen to their point of view with fairness and an open mind. I do not know how to transfer it to this site but this site is now authorized to do so I can pay the fee for this site in 2017 JFK was a person of deep interest as i had a large library on him while some of Obama's policies are liberal we have to be more inclusive of people without selling the moral standards down the drain I love early history here or other wise I do not judge people whom are not "like me" rather by their actions or morals I believe in 100% fidelity I am a no frills guy just the basics the pursuit of money or power has hurt many people I live in Isle MN but drive 30 miles to get mail just to be out and about I love my kids and have 7 great grand kids but they have their own time frames and family life which sometimes does not include " in laws" my most recent wife was Lutheran when she passed 6 years ago and I have not been out since then we did do charitable things together as I expect my new love to do the same I did a dinner of 450 people for a needy baby back in 80's hope to make 2017 "our" year enjoy seasons Kim
