I'm just a normal guy looking to meet a fun, not perfect, lady. I've raised 5 great kids, 19 being the youngest. All are accomplished and off to college or professional careers. We do have a lot of fun when we're all together. I would like to meet a lady to share my joy with.

I'm real bad at writing bio's so bear with me please. Trying to type what you are in 2500 characters isn't enough to give anyone a real good idea of who you are but I'll do my best. Anyways, Here's the meat and potatos. I graduated from college in 2008 having finished my degree in poli sci. After that, I deployed to Iraq in 2009. I've been back since 2010 having worked on a couple of political campaigns but now I work in manufacturing where I'm an assistant manager for my department. It is good, honest, and stable work. I'm also a new homeowner and so I've spent some time getting my house in order. Other than that, my hobbies invlude getting together with friends on the weekends to watch a good football, hockey or baseball game. I like to try new things and I'm not affraid of taking risks if the oppurtunity is right. I was in amature boxing for a few years in my early 20's and now I coach both armature and pro boxers. I'm much more settled down now having tried out many different things in my life and being a new homeowner. I'm a calm, laid back person, yet I find humor in the simple things in life. I'm loyal and my love for God doesn't change. I'm a devout Catholic. I love my faith and its been a big part of my life. My faith in God and his church are what guide me each day. God comes first in my life, and everyone else is second. That's how I try to live. It might seem blunt but I guess that's what I am. Hopefully it doesn't turn away that special person that I'm praying to meet someday.

Hello! I am optimistic, have values, and like to think that I am healthy in the different pieces of life's pie...body, mind, spirit. My passions include socializing, biking, walking, politics(conservative), national and international current events, some environmental matters, and cooking. If my townhouse was on fire, I would grab photos, my Asolo hiking boots, my Messermeister chef's knife, and ride out of the garage through the flames on my Trek bicycle. (Wouldn't that be a sight!) If I were a car, I would be a Toyota Camry rather than a Lamborghini. I'm dependable, not high maintenance, and get the job done. I don't watch a lot of tv. What I do watch tends to be news or public TV. I am a morning person. Relationships are important to me. I maintain contact with many people. Relationships are the key to life. If you are the special woman that is out there somewhere, you will make life even better. I have groups of people over three times a winter or so for a dinner party. It's a great activity for people in our age range. I made ciopinni(sp?), a seafood soup, for some couples from church last weekend. (Side note...I think an alternate name would be $100 soup since there was lots of seafood in it!) Other random fun things...exploring a new city on food, hiking in the mountains, weekend getaways, downtime with you(cannot "run" all the time), having a brew with friends, a nice meal out, an arts event, going to a U of M gymnastics meet, searching for morel mushrooms in May in the woods, biking on the world's best urban bike paths in our backyard. I have been active in Toastmasters over the years. About 20 years although not continuously. It provides an opportunity to improve communication skills and to grow personally.

In simple words, God and Family are my everything. I love to play soccer, read, hiking and dancing. I consider myself humble, very mature, spiritual, family oriented with a good sense of humor. I'm not perfect..but strive to grow in holiness and virtue everyday. After, considering the priesthood for some time and with the help of my spiritual director, I've come to conclude that God is calling me to the beautiful vocation of marriage.

I am currently in the process of looking deeper into and practicing more fully in my faith in the Catholic Church. My faith journey has picked up 'some speed', as I have made my way through some recent life challenges. I was educated and have worked in Catholic institutions most of my life. I enjoy exercise, relaxation, sports, volunteerism and dining out in my leisure time. Seeking a friend, companion and someone to share my faith with!

I am an adventurous man who appreciates my two sister's, their families, and good friends young and old, especially those who share similar Catholic and Christian values. I really enjoy time together with my niece and nephew's and their spouses, and playing with (and learning from) their young boys and girls. My parents instilled in me the importance of family, good friends, and striving for positive change. I am active outdoors; hiking, biking, kayaking, motorcycling, sailing, and downhill and x-country skiing. I look forward to international travel this spring to visit friends in Europe and also explore new places while there. As a photographer I have an interest in unique winter subjects, and I also like the arts especially jazz and world music, and theater! And sometimes life doesn't get any better than an evening sauna (in my basement) with friends, or my cat Rumpus!

There's a scene in the movie "The Sting", where late at night, Robert Redford stands outside the door of a woman he's pursuing. She offers that she doesn't know him. He looks at her and says, "You know me. I'm just like you. It's two in the morning and I don't know nobody." Pretty evocative of that eternal search for connection on many levels, don't you think? While I have much better grammar than Redford's character (if maybe not the same sparkling blue eyes and the ever-tousled blonde hair), and actually happen to know a lot of people, and am not prone to wandering around rooming house hallways at 2 AM, I understand that universality of the experience. (In the movie, she turns out to be a hired assassin who tries to later kill him, so the analogy does kind of break down from there. But, you get the idea.) Briefly: Gainfully employed business executive. Enjoys good conversation and idea-sharing. Eclectic, with wide-ranging interests in all sorts of things. Happily engaged with the world: Reads. Teaches (my background and passion). Plays sports. Volunteers. Close to family. Hangs out with my adult children. Goes to the theater. Writes. Thinks. Lives. Listens. Love/Hate relationship with the Vikings. Fan of Soren Kierkegaard and Harold Kushner. Seeks to be more "interest-ed" than "interest-ing", since I believe few people have enough others in the world willing to listen to our stories. Has traveled extensively around the world over the years and has learned much from the experiences. Professional studies and backgrounds in Theology, Education, and Finance. (I mentioned eclectic, right?) Former seminary student who deeply values and embraces spirituality, though not given to being dogmatic in nature. Labels and boxes are good for holding Christmas presents, but are meant to be joyfully ripped open and tossed away to find the true gift. As St. Augustine opined: "Dilige et quod vis fac (Love, and do what you will)." Simple and incredibly demanding in its truest sense, no? A prayerful and grateful free-thinking liberal I suppose is the label you'd slap on that. Just in case you were looking for that box. Dislikes labels and boxes and people who use them extensively. I suppose that's the dust cover flap. Like you, I have thousands more chapters in my autobiography.
