  • Jim, 75 from Billings, MT
    75, Billings, MT
I was born & raised Catholic. As a youngster I was an alter boy, old school---had to learn my prayers in Latin. Being raised in a small Montana town in the 50's was a real blessing. Later I was confirmed, graduated from high school and the U of Montana at Missoula. Next I was a Navy pilot, active duty for 13 years and then the reserves for another 15, retiring as a Navy Commander. I believe that one of my strongest characteristics is that I am a "seeker", always striving to be a better person, a better Christian. As such I have read the Bible cover to cover numerous times, been involved in men's fellowships in Montana, California and Mexico. I love the Lord and have memorized many Bible verses that give me daily direction. My "signature" and all time favorite is Proverbs 3:5-6. Great instruction and direction and also parts of it---a challenge for me! My walk with the Lord has not always been easy, but I believe that the Holy Spirit interceded in my behalf MANY years ago, probably starting when my dad was killed in a car accident when I was 10. My grandma on my mother's side was a true saint in her own way. Always pleasant, non judgmental and always smiling, a wonderful 100% Irish Catholic. Then there was my Uncle Walt, married to my dad's sister. What a guy. I could write a book on him. He lived about 250 miles from us in North Dakota and became my surrogate dad after mine passed. Born with only one arm and only 4 fingers, and standing just 5' 4", he was still a GIANT of a man. I get goose bumps every time I remember some of the many experiences and lessons learned from him. I enjoy reading, exercising, traveling, walking and challenges in my business life. My definition of retirement is doing what I want, when I want and where I want. By that definition I have been retired about 20 years, but I am still working! I love what I do! What I am looking for? First a friend. I am not ready at this time to make a commitment. You might say I am moving very cautiously. As I said, first a friend and then companionship and if things work out fine! If not, fine! The person that I am looking for must be committed to the Lord. Notice, I did not say perfect as I am not either. Pleasant, a happy smile, likes to travel, does not get bored, a self starter, if you will. I guess I have briefly outlined who I am and where I want to "go". Thanks for reading this far! Blessings, Jim

  • Kendal, 52 from Whitehall, MT
    52, Whitehall, MT
I was born and raised in Montana and a good part of that was on a ranch. I am very grateful for the opportunity to experience the rural/ranch life and still have a soft spot for it. There are times I dream of a small ranch in the country :) From my time on the ranch I learned how much I enjoy working with animals as well as growing things, even if it's just hay :) I also developed a love of nature. A favorite of mine is a nice day hike (or over-night camping too) up to a beautiful mountain lake! Getting out in nature has always proven to be good for my mind and body :) I have done some volunteering (not a lot) and lately feel a growing desire to partake in this more. This can be a challenge, though, as it requires me to move out of my comfort zone a bit ;) I do love sports...sometimes I think too much :) Though I don't run as much as I use to, I do enjoy a nice run. In the winter I enjoy skiing and snowmobiling. Other sports include basketball, football, a little golf, canoeing/kayaking.

  • Randy, 50 from Missoula, MT
    50, Missoula, MT
I own a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, radio station, broadcasting Catholic programming. I run 2 small companies (not doing very good). And 1 other company, contract insurance agent that's doing pretty good. Zoom into my right ear of picture with hat on. I love sports! In high school I did football, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, boxing, cross country and track. I still try and stay a bit healthy. I live 2.5 hrs away from Glacier Park and 3.5 hrs away from Yellowstone Park. 45 minutes away from National Bison Range. I've been to Europe twice with the Army Reserves and I STILL believe Western Montana is God's country! What am I looking for... Currently, (winter 2017)I have bought my parents home to take care of them in their old age. I am remodeling it and adding on 1,000 sq. ft. I don't think my mom will be with us more than 1.5yrs, her health and memory is failing fast. She is 74 and dad is 78. I look forward to taking care of your parents also, should the need arise. I am looking for friendship, marriage. To be able to hold each other thru good times and bad. I am not a mind reader, so fyi: I ask a lot of questions and try not to assume anything! I have learned forgiveness, and patience, maybe not in that order, but humble enough to admit when I'm wrong, and even if I'm not, to still apologize for not doing what I am supposed to do to make you feel better. what I may have done and what I have failed to do.

First, doing this whole dating thing over the Internet isn't that great...I think this works well for meeting people. But after that I think it is best to go on a couple of casual dates to help discern whether the relationship is worth pursuing in a serious manner. I love to have deep intellectual conversations about anything really, but especially in theology or philosophy. On the other side of the coin I love the simple life of living out in the country and being on a small farm where one becomes intimately in tune with nature. I can be goofy and spontaneous and like to go on adventures, but also I enjoy just relaxing with family or friends for the evening. I love being out in the rural setting best, but city life has its advantages as well. I work as wildland firefighter in the summer and I help my parents in the winter with their little farm. There isn't a lot of work on the farm in the winter, so I use that time also to travel around a little. I like to travel, but have never been out of the US. I certainly would like to some day... I would love to visit Europe. My job in the summer has taken me to many different states, but I get to see a much different part of those states than if I was traveling there.
