I live my life as a practical Catholic. What is a practical Catholic? A practical Catholic is one who accepts the Church's teaching on faith and morals, who aspires to live according to the Precepts of the Church, and is in good standing with the Church. I joined the Knights of Columbus because I wanted to find like minded men who practice the faith as I practice it. It's great belonging to a Catholic gentlemen's organization, but I have to believe there are women who are practical Catholics as well; a practical Catholic woman looking for a like-minded man. I married civilly, and divorced civilly, so I am free to marry in the Church. I stayed away from the dating scene because I was not able to find a like minded woman in my limited circle of acquaintances. But I'm getting older, and I think I may have a calling to the married life. This time, I would like to do it right. In my leisure time, I must confess, I play video games and watch movies. When so inclined, I'll even write critiques of said media. I have a motor scooter, and like to take rides. I have a kayak, and like to paddle about now and then. I do read, but mostly materials for work. I like the content, but the subject matter isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm rather laid back and have a live-and-let-live attitude. Conversely, I do have strong convictions regarding the Faith. This is not to say I'm fanatical about religion, but rather, I am practical: Life is short, but eternity is forever.
  • Michael, 62 from New York, NY
    62, New York, NY
My name is Michael. After a lengthy hiatus i decided to rejoin and say hello. i have a lot to share and am looking for that special person to be more than just my best friend. It would be great to have mutual interests and then find we enjoyed each others company enough to want to spend our time together. Ultimately, I'm looking for a serious relationship that works for the both of us, to enjoy and share life's ups & downs together. How do you say more than a significant other! I have don't have any kids but if you do, its fine, i love kids of all ages and at this stage, i think i'm probably more likely to encounter grand kids, all good, they all have to learn!! I think time is important to all of us, so I promise I wont waste yours. About me: I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, went to school in Manhattan and worked there a good part of my career. I have a master's degree. I also lived and spent a lot of time in California. I've lived & worked in Washington DC and traveled around the country for business before starting my own in NJ some years ago. I came from a big family and miss that. I can cook and enjoy making a meal together. I am ok with being the helper or the chef. I haven't traveled as much as would like to recently and I'm looking forward to changing this. Over the years, I've been to Hawaii and Florida, Canada & Mexico, fished in and explored Alaska, traveled thru California and rafted the length of the Grand Canyon. There are a lot of places left. I enjoy history and like to blend it with travel. I listen to many different types of music, love moving lyrics and really enjoy classics. There's a special place for obscure stuff and movie soundtracks that were worth the notice. I like movies with a plot that intrigues the viewer, comedies and classics. Some indie stuff crosses my path from time to time also. I like to fly kites, especially at the beach. I keep one in the car you never know! I enjoy museums of all types, art, the theatre and live music.I'm looking forward to meeting someone and sharing all their interests, there isn't much i'm not curious about.

Hi there "Forgetting what lies behind, pressing forward to what lies ahead..." that's why I am here, hoping to press on with that someone special. I am a city boy loving the country life, a strong devoted Catholic seeking that special woman to build a Catholic family and go through life with. Let's see what's out there in the world together. In the last year, I have really adjusted my lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise, realizing how important it is and how much more empowering it is to maintain a healthy physical life as well as spiritual. With that change, I realize I need someone who I can share that with too.

  • Tom, 47 from New York, NY
    47, New York, NY
Hi, I'm Tom. Having gone to Catholic high school, I consider myself to have good character and am looking for a nice girl who also has similar values. Having lived in NYC for 5 years, and having grown up in the nearby suburbs, I am open to living someplace new, and other than the NY area. I am open to a new adventure. I enjoy traveling, and would like to do more of it. This is where you come in. I went to college to be an engineer, but things took different turns. I tend to be quiet but can also be very entertaining. I have a belief that when with the right person, it doesn't matter what we're both doing, that we'd just that you are happy to be together. I do believe that life is more than about work and money. I'm looking for someone who's looking for a potential long-term relationship. No pressure. If it's right it's going to be right, because we both have the a similar "take it in stride" outlook on life, and we're both willing to give it a go. I'm passionate about the people in my life, trying to live a healthy lifestyle. I have hobbies from phototgraphy to traveling, and they're all the better with the right person. I was just told I resemble 007's Klaus Brandauer -- I've attached a few of him so you can see what I should be like in a few years! Please ladies, I am only one man! Perhaps you are in the NY area or planning to visit it, as despite all of our plans, not one of us really knows that is really in store. I am open to the possibilities. So don't be shy... feel free to send an email... Please know that I am allergic to some cats. I have a cousin with two persian cats and I am super allergic to them. Sorry!
  • Daniel, 25 from Nyack, NY
    25, Nyack, NY
The most important description which I can offer here is that I've always had - and to a healthy degree still maintain - a general aversion to anything in the realm of "online dating." I believe firmly that the pursuit of a sincere, Catholic relationship -with the possibility of developing into a Catholic marriage- should be undertaken with the utmost honesty, respect, and chivalry; anything less simply isn't my style. God only knows how much I yearn for an organically wholesome encounter, akin to the way Chesterton or Belloc first came upon their wives. Online dating has never been my idea of an earnest or heroic courtship; but even I've come to understand (or rather concede) that as Catholics, we're living in a time with unique and unprecedented challenges to marriage, which do demand beyond ordinary action. If marriage is the vocation we ultimately are called to, we have an obligation to rightly utilize the resources which God lays before us. I place entirely all my trust and confidence in the Holy Spirit, and my hope in the hands of the Blessed Mother, if indeed, against the wildest odds, that through her Son I might here find the woman I was meant to give my life for. Yours In Christ, DLD

Hi Ladies, I'm a young Catholic college student. I'm very family oriented and I also teach at a local church on Wednesday nights. I love children and I am passionate about helping people and just leading people to our faith by example. I was educated by the Jesuit order so a lot of their teachings are ingrained in my life. When I'm not teaching or at school I love history, so much so that I'm studying it in college. Ask me anything about history and I will tell you more than what you wanted to know haha Also I love to go into Manhattan and just wander around! God bless!

  • Ryan, 37 from New York, NY
    37, New York, NY
Hello, I am a 37 year old man living in Brooklyn from a small town in upstate NY. I work as a sommelier in a fancy, fun restaurant in greenwich village. So, I am basically a librarian for bottles of wine. I come from a wonderful family that holds our Catholic faith very dear. I enjoy the outdoors and reading and wine and simple things. I decided to check out Catholic match because I live in a secular bubble in hip north brooklyn and rarely meet ladies with the same views on many social/moral subjects. I am wholly encouraged by the many young women on this site who have the fortitude to stand up for their beliefs and what they want in a spouse, and not being afraid of being a little counter cultural. Also, I am a whole lot of fun, promise!
