I am semi-retired and own my own business. I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family. I I golf, bowl and watch sports and business on TV. I am interested in finding a person with whom I can share time and who especially enjoys traveling. However, I think a strong and sustained relationship allows for some individual time. Religion is important to me and I try to reach a deeper faith especially as I am now a "senior". Being mostly retired, I enjoy doing some volunteering and am open to giving time to helping those in their times of need.

I have most of my hair and all of the really important teeth. I've been told I have a nice smile, nice arms and an asthetically pleasing 2nd stage. However, six-pack abs have given way to a keg. If the physical attributes are the most important thing to you, then you may stop here. I love REAL music. There's a huge rift between what is good and what is popular. I'm tuned into the classical, blues and occasionally jazz public radio stations and I've long since lost my taste for commercial radio. If you're into C/W, I'm sorry. I'm a fan of comedy and sci-fi. Mind you, those are only interests. I won't ask you to quote Monty Python or Star Trek unless you enter the room with a silly walk and wearing pointed ears. I like to cook, especially Italian dishes. Grilling is another fun sport plus I have a strong side-dish repitroir. I also love vegan dishes. A good wine or an interesting beer usually tops things off. I like muscle cars.... a lot. I go to the cruises whenever I can. I show my own car at shows and/or cruise around town. Other stuff.... Airplanes, musicals, old toys, old movies, animals and zoos, museums, walking, travel, anything that makes me laugh (please say you have snickered at a well placed whoopie cushion). I'm an amatuer photographer and I like to create slide shows. I support public radio. (If you're a Garrison Kielor fan, that's huge!) My sense of humor can get a bit bawdy but never with a loss of respect.

I am the person standing on the left and my sister, who is the mother of the bride is - of course on the right. I might add that camera's and I are not on the best of terms. I have a short close cropped beard, but that is optional. It maybe more fun to attempt to know the other person besides here. I will state that I have traveled very extensively and have experienced many cultures. I like to think that I put others before self and since I was brought up in the European fashion I treat the female like a lady, ie: open doors, allowing her to go first and to walk on the outside. I would rather play sports than watch, which I try to do because I play golf at least once a week and play softball at least 3 times a week, weather permitting and I try to workout in the gym at least 3 times a week. My family - brother and sisters along with my daughter, son -in-law and grandchild are very close. Any thing else will be fodder for some very interesting conversation. retired, kind, caring, enjoy outdoor activities, enjoy most types of music, enjoy museums and history, enjoy wine touring We must start with friendship, good conversationalist and be able to hold your own in a conversation, educated, you do not have to have a PhD to be intelligent and smart, no drugs, values must be in line with a Christian way of thinking. Must enjoy and a sometime participant in sports or similar activities and not be afraid to have the wind in your hair. Some say that I am a romantic and yes I do like the so call chick flicks and some time I do get emotional its not all action pack movies or programs. I would like to feel the tingle when I am touched on the arm or when two hands meet in a caring way. I like sitting on my porch with music in the back ground enjoying some wine and good conversation. If you are spontaneous and say "road trip" my next question would be where and when do we leave and that is a good thing. If you know how to drive a stick that is a plus but if you do not would you like to learn. Think about this? If you were stopped at a light and one of your favorite songs is on the radio and you start singing and dancing in your seat, then you look over to the car next to you and you see people watching you what would do? A man walks into a bar and asked the bartender for a glass of water at which point the bartender pulls out a shotgun and fires it into the air the guy says thanks and puts $10 on the bar and walks out why did he do that?

Of course, my family - daughters and grandchildren - are always in my thoughts and prayers, but none lives close to me. I talk with my daughters every week and visit when possible. I volunteer at church and at a local comfort care (hospice) home. I attend Mass several times each week. Then I keep active. I play golf about twice each week (through most of the year since I also have a home in Florida). I swim daily when in Florida. Now that I am alone I spent several weeks skiing in the West this past winter and plan to do so again this coming winter. I love to travel, alone if necessary, but prefer with a partner.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look at my profile! I'm a Catholic who converted in 2003 from being a lifelong Presbyterian. I've never "looked back." The Catholic Church is fascinating and has been lots of help to me in many ways...the complete focus of the Church on God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and Scripture as the center of everything, weekly Mass, the Eucharist, Confession and Reconciliation, prayer, the structure and consistency and dependability of the Church, the priests and deacons and their care and helpfulness, the community of other Catholics, the depth and richness of the Church and its teachings and history, and more. I also have to be honest and say that I'm not a rigidly, "perfect" Catholic, either. The joy and richness and mystery of the Church is something that I'd like to share with someone. I've been on my own for a long time after a divorce. My son was with me from the time he was 11, and he's now a junior in college. Raising him on my own was one of the great challenges, but also the very greatest joy and accomplishment, in my life. I adjusted to the empty nest syndrome (admittedly, with some difficulty) and now am interested in developing a friendship with someone that would hopefully lead to a relationship. I have a cat and a parrot, both of which are my wonderful companions. Leisure time for me includes coffee; reading; coffee; exploring the beauty of nature around us; walking and hiking; playing golf (or maybe I should call it "attempting to play golf...hahaha!); fishing (same comment as golf..."attempting" to fish); getting to know new people and chatting with them; coffee; working on the older house that I own; hanging out with my cat and my parrot; finding and watching interesting shows and series on Netflix, including history and documentaries; and lots of other things that are better left for conversation over one or more good cups of coffee. Oh...did I mention that I like coffee? I'm a devoted, faithful, committed, communicative, supportive, encouraging person who knows how to compromise and is a good listener in a relationship. I know what the potential of marriage can be, but I also know how awful divorce can be. It's essential for two people to express themselves calmly and patiently, listen to each other calmly and patiently, and find areas of compromise that are mutually beneficial. I'm looking for someone who understands, values, and practices the same qualities and perspectives.
