I am interested in establishing friendships to share activities of mutual interest. Friends might describe me as a "culture vulture" because I enjoy arts, exhibits, museums, concerts, etc. I love sacred choral music, opera, classical, but enjoy popular music of all types. I enjoy travel, festivals and love to learn about new things or places. I like movies because they introduce you to interesting people/places/plot lines (but I cry easily at movies, so be forewarned.) I have recently moved North Carolina, and would like to meet friends with whom to share mutual invitations to various activities. I have an annulment, but don't know what God has in mind for my life and have not yet pursued a new romance. I want to be content in Him, as He is totally sufficient for my needs. On the other hand, I would receive with joy the opportunity to love and be loved. I have wonderful children, and two grand babies (but I look forward to many more.) I enjoy thoughtful, interesting and intelligent friends who are willing to share and learn from one another. I appreciate caring and trusting relationships and am willing to share almost anything about myself as a friendship matures. I am safe and trustworthy and respect the needs and boundaries of others. Living in a new place, I miss the comfort of old friends with whom you are always at ease, and with whom joys/frustrations/happiness and hurts can be openly shared.

The spaces in your life and fingers were created so that another's hands could fill them. Life is one of the most important gifs that God has given us. I attend Belmont Abbey College. I have a strong bond with my family and they have been a huge influence in my life. I rent a two bedroom house and they live with me. I enjoy reading, board games, social dancing, volunteering, festivals, movies with friends, and hiking. I am an only child and my parents raised me to be responsible and supportive. I moved to Belmont, NC in 2015. As a Catholic, I enjoy very pious practices such as the Rosary, Adoration, Mass, Confession.

I am most passionate about life, living it to the fullest. I enjoy every minute. I am self employed and always hope to work because it keeps you young, I'm convinced of that. I am most passionate about my kids who are successful, and have one grandson. I want to see him reach his potential, of which he has much. I work because I never considered it to be work, being in sales is not a job. It is fun. In my leisure time I go to the gym, work out with weights, treadmill, whatever keeps my body ten years younger than it should be by most standards.

I love the outdoors and doing things like fishing, hiking, backpacking and just being outside. I can play five instruments but don't ever ask me to sing because I can't control the notes that may come out. Typically you can find me searching for a new project to do around my apartment or hanging out with my friends.
  • Cory, 20 from Belmont, NC
    20, Belmont, NC
I'm a Motorsports Management major and Belmont Abbey College. BAC is a Benedictine college filled with monks and driven by Catholic tradition. My goal is to run a race team with the virtues Christ set out before us. I'm active at Mass, lectoring at the monastery every other week (and attending every week of course lol). I can't sing to save my life, but I do play drums. XP I hope to one day have a family that celebrates the faith. I pretty much made a snapchat just for this, if you want to talk more in-depth, here it is: cory.martin92 ps. 92 is not my birthyear. I'll explain later... If you're lucky lol

I'm a complex person. I suppose we all are to some degree, but as a convert who took a somewhat long and varied road to get to the faith I think that I am more so than usual, because I see things from a variety of different angles. I tend to sympathize with GK Chesterton when he is described as an absent minded wanderer who sees everything in a topsy-turvy way. and I tend to be able to sympathize with every group in a debate, though I obviously tend to agree with one side over the other. St. Thomas' saying, "Never deny, seldom affirm, always distinguish" is descriptive of my attitude toward things. I am very passionate about my faith, and I also have a zeal for life; I see no conflict between these two pursuits. I like talking about faith and theology, and I also like hiking, exercise, Netflix, joking around, and drinking with friends (basically the normal list for Catholic Millennials). I suppose I'm a mixture of Thomism and Romanticism. I'll graduate from Belmont Abbey College in May with my degree in Theology, and I'll be living and working in the Charlotte area this summer. I'm not sure where I'll end up after that; it depends on where I get job offers and where life takes me.

What is the mark of love for others? Not to seek what is for your own benefit, but what is for the benefit of the one loved, both in body and in soul. --St. Basil the Great "Pure love ... knows that only one thing is needed to please God: to do even the smallest things out of great love - love, and always love." (140) --Divine Mercy in My Soul, St. Faustina Love is the sweet and holy bond which links the soul with its Creator: it binds God with man and man with God. --Saint Catherine of Siena "The Eucharist is the Sacrament of Love; It signifies Love, It produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life." --Saint Thomas Aquinas Everything comes from love, all is ordained for the salvation of man, God does nothing without this goal in mind." --St. Catherine of Siena "Lord, grant that I might not so much seek to be loved as to love." --Saint Francis of Assisi
