What am I passionate about? I guess I would have to say that I am passionate about my work and making sure that I serve people to the best of my ability. But beyond that, I am passionate about my faith and I try to do the will of God as best as I can. What do I look forward to? I like to travel, although I haven't had much time to do so lately. My last trip was to Rome and Florence which were both special. I also like to hang out in NYC where I can enjoy great food and wine, as well as the theatre. I have seen The Lion King three times. Lol. I have spent many vacations in Mexico, mostly on the Pacific side but I have not been back in recent years due to the situation in Mexico. I am passionate about my children. As a divorced father of two grown children, I try to maintain a supportive and loving relationship with my kids, and most of the time I feel that I have been successful at that. For the past few years, however, it has been somewhat of a challenge with my kids due to the fact that they have both strayed away from the church and have bought into the secular way of life. The people who have had the most influence on my life have been political and religious leaders. In high school and college, I was mostly influenced by John and Robert Kennedy. Later on in life, I was mostly influenced by people like John Paul II and Mother Teresa. I feel very blessed by my Catholic background. I would like to visit the Holy Land some day, as well as Lourdes and Fatima. With regard to my leisure time, I enjoy reading, exercising, tennis, golf, old movies, as well as watching football and baseball.

  • Donald, 66 from Fargo, ND
    66, Fargo, ND
Im a bit timid about doing this, but the time has come to move beyond my reservations. I was widowed in July 2009, after more than thirty years together, and am maybe ready for lifes next chapter. I'm intelligent, and generally happy. I retired in 2011 after nearly twenty-nine years with the Federal Government, so my time is my own. I have two adult kids (27-year-old married daughter, and 25-year-old son), so dont have too many current responsibilities other than doing what I can for them along with looking out for, and checking in on my mother-in-law from a distance with occasional visits. My father died in December 1989 at 64 years old; my 96-year-old mother passed away in June 2015. I know relationships need constant attention, and nurturing as well as respites to survive. Im inclined to look for someone with a similar history (i.e., widowed, and a relationship that withstood the ups and downs of committed, dedicated longevity). I'm a real guy, and realize fruitful relationships have a few pips in the fruit bowl. Did I just type that? Above average intelligence. Need someone of substance to be comfortable with. I like to travel and keep company with intelligent, and fun companions. I am a friendly person and am the type of person that can hang out and have a couple drinks to relaxing at home watching TV. I love exploring different places because there is so much to see and experience. I would travel pretty much anywhere. I value a good education. I am generally a positive person; life is what you make of it. I'm fairly intelligent, fun, respectful, down to earth and pretty easy to get along with. I don't like to pretend to be anything I'm not. I appreciate life and am willing to experience most things at least once. Currently I enjoy spending time with friends, going out having a drink, listening to live music, dancing, bowling and watching baseball. I enjoy most music, except that which denigrates people. I have and enjoy someone with a good sense of humor, especially sarcasm. I would love to have someone to spend my evenings and weekends with, sharing a bottle of wine, dinner, conversation, a show, socialize with friends/family. An email will get my phone number and email address; phone chat will lead to drinks or dinner as quickly as you like. We can go from there if there is any chemistry between us.

I lost my wife due to cancer and have found that it hurts to be alone and and it is lonely. I am focussing on love and commitment. I love to camp(no tenting)and the evening camp fires with a glass of wine. I am a outdoors person and think there is enough to see in the US before going out of the states.
  • Dennis, 63 from Hope, ND
    63, Hope, ND
Hello my name is Dennis, I had a nice marriage that ended only when my wife passed away, we had three children, the kids and my grandchildren are most important to me. I look forward to continuing on with my life and no I do not want yo do it without daily partner and do not think God has a plan for me that has me alone. My parents were my first teachers that I still try and live up to their values, work, to take care of ones self and your responsibilities, when I was 17 I joined the US Marines and learned a set of values that have guided me through life, honor, loyalty, commitment are not empty words to Marines. In my leisure time I like my hobbies, woodworking, I am interested in firearms, reloading of rifle and shotgun shells on a winter day, I do leatherwork and carpenter work for myself. I like fishing, love it, both ice fishing and open water. Do some hunting, but not a lot compared to my younger days. I do like to travel, and read watch old movies.

  • Jerome, 69 from Burlington, ND
    69, Burlington, ND
I am a farmer and rancher in the north central part of ND and work in partnership with 3 of my 4 brothers, one of whom is an equine/bovine veterinarian. Ours is a close knit family oriented, agricultural business and we work well and in union with each other for the benefit of each other and for the farming unit which we all hold so dearly. I enjoy all of what we do here and accept each day as a new challenge and a new blessing. I am active too in civic happenings in this area and enjoy having a part in the local governance of some of the organizations which are pertinent to this locale. I presently serve on the board of directors of two county boards and currently am the chairman of one of those boards. I enjoy being able to serve in a leadership role and in giving my best back to the community. Additionally, I hold a commercial pilot's license and have been flying since I was 18 years old. My own personal airplane is kept here on the farm where I live and it is one that I used some years ago to help in the filming of a NOVA Science Documentary movie which was later aired on national television. I might add too that I also fly helicopters. As a pilot I am often called upon to help in aerial surveys and for aerial photography. I have served as the pilot for the Ward County Weed Control Board for several years and in doing so I often am asked to conduct cross county weed control assessment flights for the weed board so that elected officials can see what the problem looks like from the air. My passengers on some of these flights are county commissioners, members of our state legislature, members of the ND Department of Agriculture and on one occasion it was our State Ag Commissioner who is now the President of the National Farmers Union in Washington, DC. This is a position I enjoy immensely. My involvement in general aviation has always been a source of great joy and it is my hope that I might someday have a partner to share all of this with. I could easily be defined as the type of person who lives on challenges. Challenges and the desire to always be in a position to learn more and do better always keep me motivated and living on the "edge". Usually whenever someone has told me during my life that I couldn't do something, I accepted it as a challenge and did it to prove the other person wrong. Lots of times too I have accepted a challenge just to prove to myself that I could do it or was good enough to meet that challenge. This who I am.

I am a writer. That explains it all. I'm also a smart alec. I look forward to seeing my three daughters, their husbands, and my eight grandkids, riding my motorcycle, volunteering for Lions, exercising, and eating a good meal. I've recently lost 75 pounds, so I don't look good in a Speedo, but then, who does. I enjoy reading good books, seeing good movies, and napping. I enjoy traveling. I spent six months in Costa Rica, and also toured the Panama Canal, and have gone on three Lions Vision Missions to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
