40, Pedro, OHI'm an athletic, outgoing person who is very spontaneous and fun loving. My faith is very much apart of my life and not just a 1hr per week experience. I was in the military for 12 years and got to see the best of what the middle east had to offer and somehow survived. After college I explored the possibility of religious life. I lived at a church rectory in Louisville Ky and experienced what it takes to be a priest. I'm still discerning the possibility of religious life but I doubt this is a calling for me. I'm currently living in Southern Ohio and work for an organization that provides services primary to heavy industry and oil/gas operations. I have a BS in biology and I want to finish a BS in Nursing . I also want to get my MBA because all the cool people I know have one. When I'm free- I enjoy being outdoors. I'm a bicycling enthusiast, and slowly getting back into running after a back injury over a year ago. For many years I competed in 3-6 marathons or triathlons a season. I hope to continue this tradition starting this year. I'm into vintage bicycles, automobiles, and motorcycles and I'm currently restoring a 37 yr Kawasaki. My Saturdays sometimes consist of waking up early and going to flea markets and rummage sales. I just love old/vintage things and I can easily imagine one day being that old man in an antique store when I retire. I was born a country boy and rural life will always be apart of my existence. I love old timey- bluegrass or roots type music and my idea of a good time is going to a bluegrass festival. I desperately want to learn to play a musical instrument and imagine how cool it would be if I met someone who can encourage and help me learn an instrument.
73, Malvern, OHThis is a challenge, to say the least. I have retired from the Navy, and have been spending time on family matters here in Ohio. Best friends are on the Pacific and Atlantic coastlines, and after all the years on or near the saltwater, the Pacific Northwest and Alaska are home. Pope Benedict's "Summorum Pontificum" on the Tridentine Mass is the best Catholic news I can recall, and I look forward to its reverence and timeless, peaceful strength. Serving and chanting it again would be wonderful as well. Though I've been able to spend 10 to 12 hours per day, 6 days a week working alone in the Douglas fir forests or on a farm in Oregon, finding my name in the new Wyoming Carmelites' potential-hermit book might be a rough go. I do spend most of my free time with younger people. Never a Dad, I've been uncle and coach to nieces and nephews, entire swimming, volleyball and track teams, and homeschooling and Navy families (reportedly ruining some of their moppet offspring). I also volunteer in Pro-Life efforts, where more and more of the dedicated, younger troops are gathering, and on high school blood drives with the nearby Catholic hospital's blood services team. During Vespers at WYD 2002 in Toronto, Pope Saint John Paul II told us that " . . . Holiness is always youthful, just as eternal is the youthfulness of God." His words are unforgettable, and so they must be the good and true course to steer. Against all odds, I have a heart for the underdog. I tend to be healthy; cabin fever is the worst ailment I know. Almost forgot - character: sometimes I am trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. And sadly, sometimes not.
64, Steubenville, OHI was married for over twenty years but things did not work out. My marriage was annulled awhile back. My life is presently in need of God and someone to help keep Him there. From my marriage I have to two grown step-children which in my heart are mine and three grandchildren of which I have the same feelings. I am happy in my life but feel God is asking more of me. What is it, is the question and I am seeking different avenues to find out, you may be the answer. I am a man of simple wants and desires, a giver who is in need of someone to aide me in my giving. My family is small but very important to me and would be a major part of any relationship I should develop. I am honest, trustworthy, funloving, independent, easy to get along with, supportive and loving. My tastes in activities are very open but sports and some water activities(such as swimming) are on the bottom of the list. There may be more to me than I know, ask me if you would like to know more I'd be very happy to talk.
40, Steubenville, OHI am a man who loves Jesus and His Church. My faith is integral to my life. I converted to the Catholic Church in 2002, and if you only read this far know that the Catholic faith is an amazing treasure, embrace it! I have a number of interests. I like hiking and kayaking, going to the movies and the theater, to read and play card games. I love spending time with people and good conversations. I love travel, photography (I photograph weddings as a side job) and the culinary arts. I enjoy learning about life and experiencing other people and their culture. I've been pretty fortunate to have traveled as much as I have, I still can't believe the places I've been. For instance, by dumb luck I ended up (The photo of me, in the header image) at the Augustiner Beer Garden in Munich, Germany on the day that Germany beat Argentina in the Quarterfinals of the 2006 World Cup. Looking back, my life has been quite adventurous so far and I'm grateful for each day God gives me and every adventure He takes me on. However, I've come to realize the value of day-to-day life (probably the bigger adventure in some respects). Someday I hope to learn how to fly a plane, climb a mountain, run a marathon and scuba dive, but I also hope, even more so, that someday I will have a family to go to Mass with, to pray the rosary with, to eat dinner with, to laugh and cry with.
34, Steubenville, OHAs a senior in college graduating in spring, it's time to spend some time on here. I grew up in a Catholic home and was homeschooled. I was preserved from both sin and success, and my adult life has been marked with overcoming both my fear and my limitations. After ten years of working in garden centers, I walked away from everything I knew and went out west to Ohio to pursue a bachelor's' in theology and a minor in philosophy at Franciscan University so that I could better serve the Church as a layman. I love philosophy, theology, and good discussions about the meaning of life. I also enjoy the country, the outdoors, and gardening. I am not big into formal events and prefer a T-shirt and jeans; I am known around campus as the master of cutting the sleeves and collars off of T-shirts to make good looking cut-off "bro-tanks" and feel they are more authentic than anything I could buy in a store. I do stand-up comedy routines at events such as parents' week while studying abroad to random household coffeehouses and parties. There is a lot more, so feel free to send me an emote with a message, even if you just type "hi." I will respond to the smiley too but I know that the smiley by itself is the F2P emoticon.
41, Long Bottom, OHHello! I attend Mass weekly in Athens, OH. I enjoy travel, good food and drink, and the conversation that goes with it. I live in a very simple home and agree with the Holy Father that we are stewards of our environment. I am from Parkersburg, WV and currently live in rural Meigs County, OH. I teach high school language arts and history courses, as well as the occasional college class for the University of Rio Grande. With friends, I craft wines and beers. I enjoy cooking and trying new foods. I love to meet new people and make new friends. I am ever thankful to God for the blessings He has granted me.
40, Steubenville, OHHello! First and foremost I am a single dad. My boys are everything to me. It's been a tough couple years and things are finally starting to come together! I will be starting the annulment process soon, so I'm basically just looking for a good friend, that may develop into more.
39, Steubenville, OHAppearance: I'm 6'0 feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. I'm not skinny or obese and my stomach is more keg than six-pack. Personality: I would describe myself as a Dominican Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati with many more flaws. I enjoy all things religious from silent retreats to festival of praises. I enjoy going out and having a good time; some good wholesome fun whether it be going to a ball game or going salsa dancing. I'm more of a listener than I am a talker when it comes to my personal life. With respect to theology, philosophy, sports, politics, etc... I'm more of a talker than a listener. Background: My family is from the Dominican Republic but I was born and raised in the US. My family is very important to me even though I don't see them as much as I would like. I grew up cultural catholic and attended CCD growing up but didn't really begin practicing my faith seriously until I was 24. I've discerned the priesthood for many years but realized that I am called to glorify God as a married man. I'm really easy going and I love to laugh and dance. Current: I'm currently renting the basement area from a missionary couple. I love living in a home with two beautiful children that keep me from sleeping in too long because they will come downstairs and wake me up.
48, Steubenville, OHI enjoy helping others to be successful in their goals. I am passionate about establishing a catholic-base private nonprofit to provide an opportunity for those slipping through the cracks earn a good catholic education, besides assist the needs of abortion alternative clinics, food pantries, veteran organizations, and various needs of children. I truly enjoy attending Mass as often as possible along with adoration and a solid sacrament of confession. its also good to have a balance in eating healthy and working out at the gym which attaining this balance is always a work in progress
25, Steubenville, OHHey there! If you are reading that means that you're at least mildly interested in me , which is in a step in the right direction haha. These things are always a little tricky to fill out... I have to find a way to tell you about myself without coming off self-absorbed or arrogant, so wish me luck! I am currently a student at Franciscan University studying psychology, I plan on working for the VA counseling veterans with PTSD. Both my father and step-father were soldiers and my heart goes out to that community. I still have a year and some change to get my bachelors, I have taken the scenic route in life since high school. I dropped out my freshmen year to pursue a vocation in the priesthood, discerned out a year after that after which I took a few years to do some soul searching. As far as hobbies go, I love to read, watch a good movie but my all time favorite pastime is enjoying a conversation with good friends. I am the oldest of 5 with a brother and 3 sisters, all which of I adore more than words can express. Family means the world to me and I couldn't imagine my life without a single one of them :) Don't know what else to tell you haha if you have questions or want to know more don't hesitate to message me. Ilook forward to talking with you :)
