1st off - i'm not at all proud of many of the things i've allowed to happen in my life. I grew up catholic, but unlike a number of people, i actually grew comfortable with catholic teachings, doctrine, etc. I allowed my relationship with my wife to dictate the course of my children's religious upbringing - and that is something i will always have trouble accepting. I am looking for a solid relationship with someone like-minded. I am witty, sarcastic, educated, articulate, and ready to find a woman i can grow with. Man, that sounds so unrealistic, doesn't it? I am. . .ready. My favorite movie line of all time you ask? "never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it. " - Russell Zitsky - stripes. . . . I need to laugh and to be around someone who loves to laugh too. . . Being with a robot is not for me anymore.

If you want to know anything about me feel free to ask. I'm an open book. I don't bite, well only when I'm really hungry. lol. But I like the outdoors, especially fishing, swimming, taking long walks. I also like reading, thunderstorms, transformers, net surfing, being with friends and family. And family is important to me. I also love to laugh and have a good sense of humor.
  • Daniel, 60 from Spencerville, OH
    60, Spencerville, OH
I have been alone for a long time. I thought I would finish fixing up my home while helping the children succeed before I dated. I have a mother, two grown sons, four granddaughters with one on the way and some siblings around that I interact with. I am not very complicated by any means. I am quite adaptable and mostly content. I realize the most important improvement I will ever make is within me. I pay attention to news, but politics disappoints me. I watch public television when I do. Problems in the world make me cry inside. Greed and corruption appall me. I have a great amount of compassion. I am a good judge of character. I help others in many ways. Do not like to hurt or kill anything. Mosquitoes and fly's are annoying. Functional furniture, hall trees, hat racks, recliners, old floor lamps and rugs. I am old fashioned in most respects. I do not have a cell phone and resist most technology. I have about 20 hairs left on the top of my head. Did I say I like hats? Black and white photos have superior quality and detail. Kisses and hugs. Lips were made to be kissed. Arms were made to hug. I barber for fun using a cool chair made in the fifties. Need to get a pole hanging in the corner. World internet dependency troubles me. I write checks and keep neat records. No internet bill paying. Van Morrisons song cleaning windows is one of my favorites. Rock, jazz, funk, and blues all in one incredible song. I like beer in a bottle, boxer shorts, black coffee, old trees and clear night skies with no distracting light. I like older cars and trucks. I like older material things in general. Way cooler and I can still make necessary repairs.

  • Rick, 58 from Willoughby, OH
    58, Willoughby, OH
I enjoy doing outdoor things like hiking, biking, sporting events, and going on day trips. I also love to read. watch good movies, listen to music, go to concerts, theater, and museums. I haven't done a lot of traveling but I'm hoping to travel more in the not too distant future. I like dogs especially golden retrievers, and I'm a cat owner as well. I'm hoping to meet someone in the CLE area. I'm a conscientious, honest, caring and positive person. I'm somewhat quiet and reflective yet I enjoying doing things with people like belonging to a hiking club and volunteering. Personal growth is important to me which includes learning new things, staying in good physical shape, and building my faith. My personality type describes me as serious, sensitive, kind, loyal and faithful but I like to add that I can be a little goofy, humorous and fun too! I am a widower and a father of a wonderful daughter who will soon be going to college. I am also very fortunate to be retired, having worked in IT for many years. I've been blessed to be financially independent, but I still do various kinds of financial research on my own. As an only parent, I've been through some difficult times but.. I feel that I've adjusted well. Since I retired early, I now live a rather simple life which I thoroughly enjoy. I'm looking for someone who would enjoy going to lunch on a weekday/weekend or go to the movies or visit a museum or just go biking on a sunny day. Thanks for reading, I hope to hear from you!
  • Bob, 68 from Waterville, OH
    68, Waterville, OH
Thank you for reading my Profile. I am passionate about honesty. I am passionate about being considerate, polite and respectful to the people I encounter each day. I think I am a good listener. I am patient. It makes more sense to me to stay calm, and try to work out a disagreement. If necessary, cool off and agree on a time (as soon as possible) to discuss it again and resolve the problem, or compromise. I think the worst way to handle the situation is to walk away and not want to talk about it. That solves nothing. My Catholic education had more of an influence on me than I realized (while I was growing up). At this point in my life, I can't imagine living without it, and how much it helps me get through each day. I am fortunate to have been blessed with many friends through the years through my faith, social and work lives. One person that stands out is a very good friend who served with me while we were in the Navy (on the same ship). We still try to contact each other every month or two, although we live about 2 hours (driving distance) apart. In my leisure time, I like go for a walk (before or during sunset) and run (at least once per week), which helps me physically, spiritually and psychologicaly. I love to ride my bike (same benefits). I like to read (we have a fantastic library system in this area). I like to do some occasional woodworking and mechanical activities around the house. I like to work with my hands and get a lot of satisfaction from things I might construct and finish or repair. I am low maintenance. I don't want, nor expect people to have to pick up after me. I think that comes from several areas; My mother worked hard to keep our house clean, but also picked up after my dad a lot. I am not a neat freak, but I like to keep my surroundings tidy & orderly. It would be helpful if my spouse would have a similar lifestyle. We should also be willing to pitch in and help each other if necessary. I do all the laundry (and hang it outside, weather permitting), cleaning, dishes, vacuuming, ironing, etc.. My biggest challenge is cooking (or the lack of it !). Thank God for freezers & microwaves!
  • Andrew, 22 from Cincinnati, OH

I will start out by saying I am sort of introverted though I certainly open up once I get to know someone. I am also a very rational minded individual which has a lot to do with me being an engineer. I am the oldest of seven children so family has always been important to me, as annoying as they can be at times. I am passionate about learning and I am always looking to learn something new; it is something which keeps life interesting for me and I like to know something about everything. I enjoy reading with particular focus on history, classic literature, and science fiction. I also enjoy film, watching television, and video games (when I have time).

  • Michael, 50 from Wellington, OH
    50, Wellington, OH
I'm a widower who is busy raising two teenagers and looking to add a new relationship to my life. I was happily married and dedicated for 22 years and never expected to find myself here, but that's His plan. So, here I am! I enjoy most everything about Cleveland... Metroparks, sporting events, live theater and music. I was born here and have lived my entire life in Cuyahoga and (currently) Lorain County. I have a great career in global trade compliance that has provided many great opportunities for travel over the years... as far away as New Zealand! I love to travel and enjoy finding little stops along the way. My hobbies and interests include photography (especially fall colors), travel, baseball (minor leagues, especially), and whatever my kids are doing! They are involved in many activities and that's where I can be found. . I'm dipping my toe in the dating pool at this point... looking to jump. It's fair to say that I'm out of practice... it's been many years.

Thanks for visiting my page, but I've connected with someone who I hope will be that special person that I'm looking for. Best wishes in your search for happiness! Spending time with family and friends is very important to me. I've been blessed with four (adult) children and two grandchildren, who all live in the area; I spend as much time with them as possible. In both my business and personal life, I try to always act with a high level of integrity and respect for others, to do what is right, and to be a good co-worker, friend, and father. I realize that everything that I have in life is a gift from God. I enjoy having a good time with friends, reading, going on short trips, walking, and playing golf.
