62, Forest Grove, ORAny day your name is Daddy is a great day. Feb of 16: I am updating this thing for the first time in almost four years. My daughter is 14 years and my son is 16. He is in the 10th grade and doing Great. She is eighth grade, on an IEP and is making progress. I realize I am a little older that the average father of kids these ages. They are with me 24/7, I could use a bit of adult time once in a while. I need an "All of the above" on the marital status question. "Annulled" is not accurate because I qualified for a "lack of form" which is not an annulment. Therefore I was "never married" in the eye of the church. The kids mother died summer of '07. Yet "widower" communicates the wrong impression. There was no love lost. No 'Sainted ex' to measure up to. "Divorced" with kids usually means there is a 'mother' competing with the step-mom for the affection of the kids. Not true here. So I will take one from column A and 2 from B skip C and finish from the desert tray. My politics are well right of center. I love this country, family, the Church, my family, and God. In reverse order. I find entertainment in a variety of divergent areas, I like opera, and basic camping, as well as condo/resort vacationing and second run movies. I enjoy fly-fishing, Bass fishing, or sitting on the couch and watching a movie or race. I have a few hobbies that include making beer and wine, writing and studying with no particular goal. I have loved dancing since I was a kid, I have never been any good, but enjoy it. FOOD! Great restaurants, Fine food, great wine, or grilled hot dogs with beer. I am a bit picky about my coffee and tea, but will eat anything from cheap hot dogs to caviar. I love conversation and debate. But most of all I like to make people laugh or think. Or both at the same time. I have done a little sailing around the Indian Ocean, climbed a few mountains in the Pacific Northwest, was involved in auto racing and tried a few other sports. Kids and the beginnings of middle age have had an deleterious effect on my "risk to reward ratio". I have spent a lot of time on the forums. Some of the things I have read there compels me to make a blunt statement here. "I don't do stupid" If you find this statement to be funny then "right on!" lets talk. If on the other hand find it offensive, then... Oh well...

66, Eugene, OR" Courage, Honesty, Joy and Hope... seems a good way to move forward with my life! You? Blessed with three lovely children, five grand children... God has certainly been patient, kind and forgiving all my 65 years. Cradle Catholic. K through 12 Catholic education, I had fostered a vocation to the "Religious Life" in grammar school. Six months after graduating from a Christian Brothers High School I entered the Christian Brothers Novitiate at Mont La Salle, Napa, California. The Christian Brothers are a Catholic Religious Order of teaching Brothers. It answered my aspirations to be "Teacher" and member of a "Religious," Community. I had also considered the Priesthood and while in the Monastery I started to explore the possibility of "Priest." Young and somewhat impetuous, the direction of my vocation becoming increasingly unclear, I decided to leave the Order and put "Priest" on hold. I like to think I have the heart of the priest I never became. Corporate Restaurant/Hospitality/Food Service, private ventures,successful... love doing the Restaurant "thing." Too many hours, my life, heart, soul...tuff time. It became increasingly clear my Christianity,Faith and the responsibilities of my Christianity were no longer part of my llife. It can only be by the Grace of God that my children are loving, kind and charitable Christians. After much Prayer and our forgiving God I'm good with my life. No regrets, like the Prodigal Son, though undeserving, I shelter in His embrace...my life is good...I would feel blessed to share it with another..Who just might like to wake in the morning with a simple, loving person.. spontaneous, loves the coast, sunrises, sunsets, walks on beaches (rain or shine), little tiny towns full of amazing people.High Mountain streams, rivers..."Music," important, intimate part of me. Concerts, outdoors, indoors,Halls, the Symphony, Coffee House, Campuses, Clubs, love live stuff...I'm "Rock" Classical, Blues,Jazz.I was born, raised in Central California...lived in the San Francisco Bay Area "70 to "80.. "good stuff." being with someone who loves me just 'cause I'm me...we have "lotsa" time..sunrises, sunsets, concerts to share...

62, Oregon City, ORSWM, 62, seeks SF, for mutual sharing, caring and engagement in activities that promote and sustain emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing. Must be able to overlook my initial shyness and seek my inner warmth and empathy, and I will do same. If local, must not have cats. Love of reading and music essential, love of Scrabble a plus, love of poetry optional. ************************************************ I think friends would describe me as congenial (with a dry sense of humor), somewhat quiet, somewhat adventurous, reflective, inquisitive, romantic (very). Am curious about the big picture of life, both philosophically and theologically. I like quiet moments and simple pleasures. Love going to the beach and taking long walks through the surf; going outdoors and feeling the wind (and sometimes rain) on my face; love to stargaze on warm summer nights; have a hot cup of cocoa on cold winter nights; snuggle down with a good book, or watching a good movie; or having a lazy day, dreaming away, listening to music. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, exercising 5 days a week, and eating right. Don't smoke, have never done drugs. Don't drink, with the exception of a glass of wine now and then. Love to read and collect books of all kinds: histories, bios, essays, classic and contemporary novels, and poetry. I need music every day--usually have a song running through my brain all day long.
