65, Portland, ORI'll have to get back to you on this one There are times when one has a better grasp of who and where he is, and this apparently is not the time for me. When I get in the groove, it will all bust out, I promise, but until then, you have to be satisfied with what you have seen so far.
60, Salem, ORI am a cradle catholic, I am the fourth child of six with one adopted brother.I attended catholic school. I am active in my parish where I am the lead usher at the 8:15 mass. I also enjoy volunteering in the Interfaith hospitality network at my parish. I just recently retired after 34 yrs in the brick masonry const. trade. I am wanting to work part time but not in the construction trade (just to hard on this old body of mine :-). I have been divorced for almost 6 yrs. My marrige has been annuled and I am free to marry in the church. I have three children, a son 24 and two daughters 22 and 20 years old. And also two grandsons. Family is very important to me, we still have family get togethers as often as we can. My faith is very important to me as well. Since my divorce I have dated a few women, some of which were not of my faith. I found it very tiresome trying to explain my Catholic faith and at times defending it. I beleive that it would be more rewarding to meet and date someone of my own faith. Someday I hope to marry again in the church, when and with whom I don't know, only our Father knows. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, camping, (I refuse to sleep on the ground tho) fishing, garage sales, and car shows. I also enjoy golfing, I'm not real good at it but I hold my own against my golfing buddies.I am hoping to meet someone that enjoys some of my interest and maybe introduce me to some of her own.I am not to old to try something new. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. If there is something about me that sparks an interest, drop me a line, I will reply. Good luck in your search and God bless.
61, Cottage Grove, ORI'm a life-long bachelor, who socializes with my long-term friends. I've recently retired from the U.S Forest Service on the Umpqua National Forest in Oregon after 34 years of service. I'm very phyiscally active lifting weights, riding motorcycles, bicycles, hiking trails, camping, fishing, concerts, reading books, working on my house, drinking beer and helping out my friends with their projects. I like to sight-see around the state and visit family mostly in the Portland area. I'm pretty easy going and I try to avoid drama of everyday life.
74, Hermiston, ORI've been widowed now for four long years now and miss having a companion I care for and who cares for me. Someone that shares my interest of traveling and living where the sun shines. I would want that person to let me share her interests. I would love to have a partner to communicate with and share my life with. My life has been blessed by being raised as a catholic and going through all my formative education years in a catholic school. I spent all of those years with the girl that I married and we had four sons. We spend our years after our sons were raised moving several times around the country with my job. During my working years I was in management with a large company and was in the top 200 positions of the company. Fortunately I have been able to afford a very good retirement and as a result have been able to spend the last twelve years living the life of a snow bird. I have traveled in my motor couch around the US and Canada. Presently, I own a home in Casa Grande, Arizona and spend about five or six months a year living in the south and now travel the northern part of the country the rest of the year in the motor couch. I find that my travels now are not the same. It is very lonesome by myself. I have a very close relationship with my sons and their families so I'm able to spent a month at each of their places. This has given me the opportunity to keep up with the six grand children and share there lives with them for more then just a few days a year. I have a strong interest in various hobbies. My favorite is wood working. I enjoy being outdoors and enjoy walking. Going to movies is a favorite for me as well, but it would be so much better to have someone to go with. I tend to be a very social person and just love to meet new people and experience new things. I am very confident of my abilities to mix with others at all levels, but feel much more comfortable with a partner that has those same attributes. I am ready to start being with someone else in my life and building a life with that someone again. I think that with the right person it would be a fun and exciting time for us both. It sure was the first time around and I think that it will be the next.
58, Scotts Mills, ORI am a single white male, age,55. live a alone. and i am a volunteer firefighter. and like the outdoors.and i enjoy to go scuba diving when i can
68, Portland, ORThe influential people and experiences in my life are far too numerous to count. For leisure I most enjoy sightseeing and travelling; for it is my passion.
35, Salem, ORIn my spare time I enjoy reading - fiction or nonfiction, it doesn't matter. I read a great deal, and I almost never get rid of books so I have an extensive collection. I also enjoy fencing and golf (when the weather is good).
41, Portland, ORI'm Native Hawaiian; I was raised in Hawaii then relocated to Portland, OR for college. I'm passionate about social justice. My politics fall towards the far left, and I am dismayed by the undercurrent of racism and rampant incivility in our country. I have a doctoral degree, in the "helping" professions, and left a corporate leadership position to launch a digital health startup. I have volunteered extensively with non-profits in the health care policy and advocacy space, working to provide access to health care to those who need it. I was raised Catholic, but drifted away from the Church when I entered college. Some years later, during postgraduate training, a classmate asked if I'd be interested in joining her for Sunday mass at the Newman Center, a Holy Spirit Parish run by the Jesuits in Hawaii. I accepted her offer, which led me to a spiritual home that I didn't know I was missing. The homilies that the Newman Center Jesuits offered resonated with me in a way that I had not previously appreciated. Perhaps it was a function of my maturation. That said, I gained an immense respect for one of the Jesuit priests, who had spent a number of years in a remote part of the Philippines, ministering to the peasants caught between rebel and government forces. He was a soft-spoken man, but one had the impression that he had seen unspeakable acts of evil. His strength and commitment left a lasting impression on me; his life had been a model that I look to when I'm under stress. I enjoy all sorts of diversions. I play guitar. I studied Calligraphy in college, under a Trappist Monk. I love spending time at the ocean, where I can sit for extended periods listening the waves and breathing in the ocean air. I love cooking, and learning new methods for food prep. And I enjoy live music -- jazz, Baroque, classical... The only TV shows I watch are the News Hour and various cooking shows on PBS. I don't watch sports. But I do watch the Super Bowl -- mainly for the commercials.
62, Oregon City, ORNext to Catholicism, family is my grounding and support. Have 5 grown children, one living with me now. I like the tried and true, but like to experiment as well. For ex: this past Christmas I tried sushi (good), cavier (I can take it or leave it), and saki (pretty good in a mixed drink). Most nights, I'll just have a green salad and a smoothie, maybe a protein or granola bar for dessert. I like to cook sometimes, but don't like to spend much time on it, so mostly will do slow cooker or one pot meals, especially soups--like to experiment with soups. I try to stay away from fast food places like McDonalds, but will indulge occasionally. Don't go out to restaurants much, mostly because I'd go alone, and that's no fun. I like to get out and recharge in nature. I exercise in my home gym--stability ball, kettlebells, free weights, aerobics. I want to keep in shape for as long as I can, God willing. I'm no male model by any means, but want to look as attractive as I can for my partner with what I've got left. Will fight that middle aged spread. Tried karate a long time ago (although I never went very far with it) and it imparted a lifelong interest in martial arts. Tai Chi is a priority on my bucket list. My #1 interest now is ballroom dancing. Tried it a few months ago, and am hooked. Am only mediocre now, but am determined to practice until I'm proficient. I want people to nod approvingly and slyly smile when I dance the tango! My waltz is good! ************************************************ I think friends would describe me as congenial (with a dry sense of humor), somewhat quiet, somewhat adventurous, reflective, inquisitive, romantic (very). I like to express my affection physically. Am curious about the big picture of life, both philosophically and theologically. I like quiet moments and simple pleasures. Love going to the beach and taking long walks through the surf; going outdoors and feeling the wind (and sometimes rain) on my face; love to stargaze on warm summer nights; have a hot cup of cocoa on cold winter nights; snuggle down with a good book, or watching a good movie; or having a lazy day, dreaming away, listening to music. I try to live a healthy lifestyle--exercise, don't smoke, have never done drugs; don't drink, with the exception of a glass of wine now and then. Love to read and collect books of all kinds, especially history, essays, classic novels. I need to listen to some kind of music every day.
59, Portland, ORIn a nutshell, I am focused, with purpose and also like to do all things fun within my grasp. My biggest joys are family endeavors, watching and guiding my children so they may spread their wings, spend time with good friends, experience the good this world offers by God's grace, and give back more than I receive whenever possible - thanks to God's love. I am the oldest of three; I have one sister who is happily married 35 years and one brother who has never married. My parents were married 58 years; my father passed one year ago. I have been previously married, as recognized by civil law, divorced, and following discernment with the Catholic Church (now annulled) I am considered single and free to marry. Ultimately I would like to think that God willing I'm on this site in search of a woman I can spend the rest of my life with. This means that you should be able to marry in the Catholic Church ( if previously divorced, then have annulment discerned) and be open to the constant teachings of the Church in all matters.
