30, Montreal, CAWell, first thing I should say is that I am a University student in Montreal, finishing my bachelor's this semester; I just applied to Cornell, Notre Dame and Oxford. I am pursuing a degree in philosophical theology, and I aim to achieve two Ph.D.'s and teach at the University level. My faith is a huge part of my life every day, and it is also a huge part of my academic career. As a convert I take seriously my protestant background, and I also feel a special sympathy towards Muslims and Atheists. In the past, I almost converted to Islam, only to be reassured of my Christian convictions after being challenged to learn and study my faith, and then engaging in 'evangelical' dialogue with Muslims. Following this I nearly became an Atheist (a Naturalist) as I threw myself more seriously into the world of philosophy, only to have come out a Catholic (somewhat to my surprise). My hope is to become a university professor, a published writer, and perhaps a Catholic apologist. Other things about me include that I love outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, swimming, running and the like (up until recently I was playing paintball in the summers). I try to work out and stay in relatively good shape always, though that can be hard to manage with a student's schedule. I enjoy trying my skills in the kitchen and refining what little skills I have, from homemade pizza on the BBQ, to desserts, to Breakfast dishes. Although on pause, I have started and envision one day completing the process to get a motorcycle license. I enjoy BBQ'ing with friends often, though if given the choice I prefer being alone surrounded by nature. Overall I am a very outgoing introvert, all things considered. The most important thing about me, however, has to be that I am rarely not thinking - I love philosophy and theology, and I love sharing my thoughts. To that end I also have a blog to which I (regularly) make regular contributions. Finally, in fairness to the reader I should say that I am the kind of person who is sceptical of dating websites. I would much prefer spontaneously meeting somebody who crosses my path. I am also not in a rush, especially as I have far to go in my education, which may bring me over seas to England for a while, and I aim to do my Ph.D. at Notre Dame in Indiana. Beyond that, I hope to travel and teach. That said, although I do not have high hopes riding on this, I suppose I want to keep an eye open just in case I stumble across somebody really special here.

34, Quebec City, CAHello, My name is Aurelien, I come from France, I have been living in North America for 7 years, and my goal in life is to become a saint. The Church, its teachings, and the beautiful liturgy play a central role in my daily life. I attend mass 4-5 times a week and would love my significant other to be filled with the same desire for the Eucharist, and be nourished by the life of the Trinity. I am attentive to maintaining a balanced life between my work and my other activities. I enjoy the arts, in particular painting (impressionists in particular), music and books: I actually have an artistic soul (which I only discovered a few years ago). There is always some classical music or liturgical music playing when I work. I sing in two choirs (in terms of repertoire, we interpret the great pieces of choral music, from sacred music to opera. I am in the bass section). I am surrounded by books. My romantic soul loves the beauty and poetry of words. I particularly appreciate philosophy (for example, I am very interested in better understanding how the so-called Enlightenment led us so much astray, to an age of relativism, and how the scientific method is intrinsically reductionist. I find those questions useful because they help us better understand the utmost importance for us Christians to express the truth when it comes to the dignity of life, or the defense of the weak. I find the insights of Peter Kreeft or Fabrice Hadjadj particularly delightful, very deep and funny at the same time), theology (Hahn, Guardini, Benedict...), history and personal development books (I am an INFJ). This short account might already give you an idea that I thirst for truth. But that should not come as a surprise since St John Paul II reminded us that the big challenge of today's Christians will be to live a countercultural life in a secularized world. I take a true pleasure at challenging myself and learning new skills (cooking...). I also love all sorts of outdoor activities, like golf, soccer, skiiing, hiking... My job has me travel all over the world several times a year. In other words, I love (meaningful) parties. I appreciate wit, love laughing and I am an easy going person.

22, Montreal, CAHi there! I was converted three years ago. I used to hang out with homeless poeple to pass the time. That was not that bad, but I needed something more. That is when I met Jesus. I came in my life and taught me that life was more than smoking and drinking. He helped me to use my passions. Since i'm converted, I've learned how to play the guitar and began many artistic projets. I like sewing, drawing, writing. Actually I have a fantasy bilingual novel project. It's not done yet, but I hope to publish it, someday. I love nature. It is a great source of artistic and spiritual inspiration. Though, I still use the part of my life, when I was an atheist. I haven't live it for nothing and I use the experience I have to informe poeple. I work with teenagers and many times, I had to speak with them aboud drugs, alcool, violence and poverty. I try to teach them, with the best of my capacities, how to respect and not juge those poeple and try to understand them. I also try to do some prevention, tell them to be carefal and to make the good choices.
