My friends describe me as thoughtful, down-to-earth, and a very good listener. I can be a little on the shy side at first, but I warm up quickly, am very friendly, and have a good sense of humor. I'm a big sports fan (watching baseball, hockey, and some occasional college football; playing tennis). I also like movies, music, theater, being outdoors, visiting museums and historical sites, reading, and writing. I enjoy going out and I'm pretty flexible when it comes to activities, but I'm not into the bar/club scene. I like to travel - day trips around New England as well as longer trips around the country. I can't wait to visit Europe some day. I'm very close to my family and enjoy spending time with them. I'm a college history professor and love my job!

It's a big world out there and it's worth seeing. I enjoy travel, art, culture and cuisine. I take my faith with me where ever I go. I believe in honor, virtue and love. Life is an adventure and I'm looking for some one to share an adventure with. I'm a New England transplant. I moved to Rhode Island back in April and am slowly settling into life here. Previously I was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan with the US Navy. I lived in Japan almost four years and loved every minute of it, but it's now time to adjust to living in the States again. Trust me, there is such thing as reverse culture shock! The site temperament test says I'm a melancholic-choleric. I've been told I'm more of a phlegmatic. Maybe because I have too much phlegm (ehhem). That was a bad joke. I have my father's sense of humor, dry, and a bit cheesy. I love Monte Python, a good pun and the ever elusive triple entendre, if that gives you an idea of my sense of humor. I should also mention that I smile like a trout! I'll be honest, having spent a fair amount of time on the other side of the world presented obvious challenges to making any relationship work, but I've never been one to shy away from a thing because it was difficult. The difficult things in life are the ones most worth doing. That said, I find introductions to be the most difficult. How do you introduce yourself to a perfect stranger based on a few photos and a couple paragraphs. If you know how please let me know. I promise I can continue a conversation from there.

Looking for my life partner. One that simply enjoys me just as I am. Note: Ladies, please be honest up front. I have yet to meet someone who has done the needed work to get an annulment so they can get married by church. I'm working on mine and expect my future life partner to do the same. I am a father, musician, volunteer, homeless advocate, and teacher. Cantor and pianist at my parish too. When not doing music or spending time with my daughter, I may go lift weights or swim or go for a walk. When relaxing, I'll watch a movie or comedy show while giving my pet rabbit, Mia, some cuddle time. She likes meditation music the best. Dinners out are the usual thing with my daughter, and best time to catch up. Then do something a little whimsical. She is always a mixed bag of adventures. Well.......still looking for a good woman. Someone who doesn't mind me being a hopeless romantic. Yes....maybe a little over the top, but still very thoughtful, nurturing, and spontaneous around the one I love. I recently renovated a cute little house in Oakland Beach that I own. All paid for too :) I really enjoy being near the water. In the next couple of years I hope to find the right person to settle down with and just enjoy life.

New to this, but not new to the world. I cook, enjoy the outdoors but don't mind a night in. I'm a bit of a news junkie, but that's important in my line of work. Love working out and exercising my rights as a free American.
  • Andrew, 30 from Providence, RI

I have a passion for old homes. The line of work I am in paved the way for this. I've been in the restoration business since I was 15. I most look forward to taking an old, in poor repair building, and restoring it to it's former glory. I've had many experiences and people in my life that have had a lot of influence. My priest stands out to me a great deal. He is a man with an incredible amount of integrity, humility, and love. He inspires me to be the best I can be. Now that I am Catholic I have no plans to leave the church. Though I will also say that were it not for my priest, I don't know if I ever would have joined. My leisure time is in short supply and seemingly always growing shorter. I spend time with friends and family as often as I can. Hobbies include (but are not limited to) rock climbing and fishing.
