I'm passionate about meeting an honest lady. I look forward to a possible long relationship. I think that the military was a great influence in my life. It has taught me self control and discipline. As for my leisure time, I like to travel, meet new people and study up on current events. Also, like to garden.

The greatest gift we have in the Church is the Euchrist. I am a Faithful Irish Catholic, Close to my children, In fact the oldest was here to do a radio contest with me the last two years. My Children live out of state. My oldest son lives in California and my daughter lives in Indiana. My youngest left California for the DC Area. My daughter has five children, they range in age 7 to 17 years old. My Daughter and her family now lives in northern Colorado. They are about an hour from my home. I retired two years ago after working in Communications for 45 years. Which I believe I was called to do. My interest in communications was planted when my older brothers let me listen to their crystal set, (an early type of radio). I was about five years old. I am an Amatuer Radio Operator, extra class. I have bounced radio signals off the Moon! By the way it takes 2 and one half seconds for a singal to go to the Moon and back. My moon bounce antenna arry was on the front cover of a radio amatuer magazine. I also enjoy Amatuer Astronomy. I have a lot to learn in Astronomy. I would like to start a Catholic radio station. God willing.. I enjoy my retirement. I am so busy I need to hire some help. I have great desire to return to Europe to see the wonderful Catholic Shrines. It would be more fun to have a special lady at my side to enjoy all that we would experience. I think this is important, there has never been any pornography in my home. Thanks for reading my profile and may God Bless You! Duane

A philosopher and explorer that seeks new scenery and friends within life's journeys. My parents grew up in a different time where problems were a personal affront and needed to be handled with tenacity. I am the same especially competing in sports and navigating bureaucracies. My Dad helped me choose between right and wrong and my Mom helped me choose between head and heart. In my formative years, I enjoyed the outdoors very much and looked at Nature as an escape from routine and social pressures. The national and state parks, hiking trails, rivers, lakes and mountains are my sanctuaries. I always loved cycling, tennis and cars as long as I can remember. Not allowing school to get in the way of my education, I lived and backpacked through Europe. My hobbies include tennis, motorcycling, kayaking, classic cars and travel. In my retirement, there is a search for a different type of meaning. It is when I can view people, places and things through the unfettered introspection of my feelings. I am seeking someone that doesn't reinforce all my familiar feelings but presents a thinking challenge. I think of anxiety not has conflict but as an opportunity to get better. I invite you to change your internal skill sets with me. Don't linger outside the arena. I welcome you to hit a tricky serve at me and later shake hands and be friends knowing winning and losing are the same impostors. I no longer work for the dollar nor maintain the pretenses of being happy doing it. The time is to learn from memories and not just tuck them away to soldier on. It is time to realize my heart's capacity and the difference it makes to extend love without fear. One thing that I know is true, being genuine, being attentive and speaking with care is a way to a person's heart. I am not perfect . I invite you to be my friend and subscribe for communication. Get to know me and my never ending crusade for an existential Christian life. Teach me something about you and partner with me in an activity we both enjoy.

According to my birth certificate, I'm 85 years old. In terms of my outlook, I range in age from early adulthood to middle age (not to be confused with the Middle Ages). Formative experiences: I was born at the height of the Great Depression, which lasted until I was almost 10 years old. By my tenth birthday, America had been at war for a month. A year after the fighting ended, I became a military dependent (Army Brat) in Germany and France. Following my graduation from Frankfurt Military Post High School, I returned (unaccompanied by my family) to the U.S. to begin a new career. During my first 17 years, those who were most influential were my parents (especially my mother), and my three siblings. Together, we formed a staunchly Catholic family. Dad was necessarily absent for extended periods. During those times, my mother bore the entire burden of bringing up four children. i still marvel at how she managed. My childhood and adolescent experiences knitted together (bolted together?) the elements which formed the core of the person I am today. The first of these is a firm grounding in my Catholic faith, about which I am passionate. Closely related is the high value I place on family relations. Due to the moving around we did, I learned an appreciation of and liking for a wide range of people of different kinds and cultures. I also found travel to be an adventure. I was excited by both the act of travelling and the destination, whether new or familiar. Visiting places in Europe, immediately after World War II, such as St. Lo in France, Frankfurt, Hanau, Pforzheim, and Dachau in Germany convinced me that armed combat, except in defense of one's country is completely unacceptable (more on this in regard to my five years of service as a Regular Army officer). I'm currently intensively involved with Knights of Columbus activities, both third and fourth degrees. I'm an officer in both my Council and my Assembly. I'm also Secretary to the Board of a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. I spend too much time thinking about food: Menu planning, shopping, learning to prepare and preparing, eating what I've prepared, and cleaning up take a huge amount of time. Family celebrations, gardening, reading, and participating in parish activities are among my favorite pastimes. I also enjoy trying to expand my cooking abilities.
