24, Moore, SCGood day, miss. Well, you must wish to know who and what I am and so I shall attempt to describe myself. I am a Southern Catholic. By that I mean I have family roots here going back centuries, and so am immersed in what it is to be a cultured Southerner, while being in a family that only became Catholic in the past thirty years. And so I am highly old fashioned in my approach to relationships. But do not let that scare you, because my observation has been that it is really the Esposita who is in charge of the home and family. If the man has the final say, it is only because he is allowed it. The truth is, the men of my family are warriors, and always have been. Our mindset is highly militaristic, and we love order, discipline, strength, and honor - though living up to those ideals is a challenge we all too often fail to overcome. So that's just a glimpse into my values and mindset, which tied together with my Faith, make me more zealous than most. As for actually being a soldier, I have every intention of getting back (long story) in the military - once the U.S. Military has a change in management - and becoming an instrument of justice. For that matter, it would be a huge plus if you come from a military family. In my hobbies and other interests, I certainly do qualify as a nerd, though I probably do not give the impression initially. Really, the main reason I love science fiction and fantasy as much as I do is because there are ever so many very Christian elements to it, and I have a great fondness for symbolism and allegory. Oh, but there is so much to talk about there... Politically, I would certainly fit in the category of entrenched conservatism, but with the caveat that it is built around and tempered by Church teaching, that is to say, I am conservative because I am Catholic. As an update, I am now attending the Franciscan University of Steubenville to finish my history degree, so I will not be home for some time. So, for the time being, this is all I can say. If it is Our Lord's will, you may be the one to walk with me down the long road to where our purpose reaches its ultimate fulfillment in the Kingdom of Heaven. May He protect and keep you, always. Amen. Do drop me a line if you'd like to see what else is under this layer of militarism and politeness. I promise I'm not a flat character, in the literary sense. ;)
26, Johns Island, SCPeople make me passionate; whether it be through missions, or just every day social activity, I cannot get enough of productive social interactions. Thus I am obviously an extrovert, but not one of those ones who cannot be without going out or stop talking; I just care about others. So, I am just as comfortable at the company Christmas party as I am in a foreign country or at home with a good fire, journal, and record player. Music is a big part of my life as is writing. In the past I played on worship teams and led college groups solo as we worked to build the ministries. Writing poetry and practicing good verse is also a great hobby. Reading-wise I embrace mostly non-fiction and things more oriented on philosophy, some religious, some personal, and others political in nature. Activity wise I love bike riding, Crossfit, tennis, and anything outdoors. Ping-pong is my not so secret obsession. I love good, quality music. My favorite bands range from Daughter and Bon Iver to Letlive and Defeater. Yet I adore Patsy Cline and James Taylor. Coffee and dogs are a man's best friend and those are just inalienable facts. As far as influences go I find GK Chesterton, Archbishop Fulton Sheen, and Evelyn Waugh my greatest deceased heroes. There is a hipster strain in me but the other half is an 85 year old man who loves his tradition and knows to keep sacred things just that, sacred. Other big influences on my life include Father Barron, Rene Girard, Srinivas Rao, and Rabbi Irwin Kula.
33, Goose Creek, SCI tend to work crazy swing shift hours and a good bit of overtime so when I am off I try to make the most of it. I'm very passionate about my faith and always trying my best to make sure Gods light shines through me. I absolutely love going to my new church cathedral of St. John the Baptist and look forward to attending each Sunday im off. I take life one day at a time so I don't usually look forward to much else because tomorrow is never promised so always live for the lord each and every day. He truly has been the most influential in my life and I would be nothing without him
25, Greenville, SCI look forward to someday having my own story to tell. Ernest Hemingway wrote, "In going where you have to go, and doing what you have to do, and seeing what you have to see, you dull and blunt the instrument you write with. But I would rather have it bent and dull and know I had to put it on the grindstone again and hammer it into shape and put a whetstone to it, and know that I had something to write about, than to have it bright and shining and nothing to say, or smooth and well-oiled, unused." I have never forgotten that quote. Different aspects of people have influenced different aspects of my life. The epistles of St. Paul have given me encouragement and feelings of warmth in times of trouble: he often speaks of our union with Christ in both death and rebirth. These writings remind me to unite my suffering with that of Christ, always remembering the Life to come if I "finish the race" by the grace of God. St. Louis de Montfort, along with some other saints, present to me the idea of being a brilliant artist while being faithful to God; I have an admiration for writers and enjoy learning of their backgrounds, but often find disappointment in discovering their promiscuity and lack of Faith. St. Louis de Montfort was gifted with artistic talents (poetry, wood carving, and music) and used it for the sake of portraying the beauty of God and evangelization. Finally, I often derive inspirations of courage in fictional heroes. This may sound lame, but...oh well, I say it unabashedly! It is a valid point if you examine it: Spider-Man has always been a personal favorite of mine (definitely my man-crush if I had to choose one), for instance. The message of Spider-Man 2 (the film, of course) is: "Sometimes, in order to do what's right, we have to give up the thing we want the most." A very potent message to be sure, and undoubtedly relevant to a practicing Catholic in today's world. Consider another example in the character of Ebenezer Scrooge: here we find a character deeply rooted in sin and morosity, seemingly without hope. But, by the grace of God, he repents of all his wrong-doings and focuses the rest of his life doing good. These characters, though fictional, iterate true ideals which have the potential to enlighten us in dark periods.
32, Columbia, SCIn one sentence-an over caffeinated, introspective and industrious graduate student. I am -a cradle catholic -a good listener -an amateur oenophile -avuncular by nature -a dilettante in the arts On a more serious note, I have no criminal record, I am house trained, and I am reasonably presentable.
20, Beaufort, SCHi, I love family above all. I've always thought about having my own. My parents have always had the most influence on me, the love that they have is the love that I want to be a part of. I'm from Oregon and I hope to move back eventually. I enjoy being outdoors, camping and hiking, bicycles or driving or even just going for a walk.
22, Aiken, SCI am a sports journalist currently covering high school athletics in the Aiken/Augusta area in South Carolina. I'm a Yankee originally from I grew up Catholic, but I fell out of it in high school. For the past year, however, I've been going back to Mass every week and reintroducing myself to faith in God. It's really helping me improve my outlook on my life and God has given me purpose. I'd like to find a nice Catholic girl, especially here in the Bible Belt.
31, Lexington, SCI'm very strong in my faith in God. It's very important to live a pleasing life to him. I like to go fishing sometimes as well as going out to dinner and a movie now and then. I'd like to also find someone who likes to stay at home and watch movies as well. I'm very passionate towards our military personnel. I think it's very important for us to be a good example for our youth and showing them the life that they are supposed to live, teaching them morals values and principles. Not looking for a short-term girlfriend. I'm looking for someone who is willing to stick with me thick or thin and stay by my side through the good and bad. I most definitely willing to offer the same for someone who is like minded. Let me know if I sound like the guy you're looking for eight zero three four two nine one nine two seven
27, Charleston, SCI am a man of strong Catholic Faith. I am a pilot in the United States Air Force, and I am passionate about airplanes and all things aviation. I love plane spotting and flying in my free time. While I love airplanes, God plays a significant role in my life, and I desire to involve Him in the search for my future spouse. I grew up in an Irish Catholic home with my Mom and Dad playing a huge role in developing my faith life. I also attended a Jesuit Catholic High school that enriched my understanding of the church. I guess what all this translates to is that I've traveled a windy road through life, but I am strong in the church and know what I believe. On the lighter side, I love working out, watching ice hockey, scuba diving, tennis, golf, dancing, and camping/hiking. Life is about pursuing Christ in all things, and I would love to do these things and more with a beautiful soul.
32, Travelers Rest, SCMy name is Aaron. I'm a shy introspective introvert whose desire for companionship has pushed me into this world of online dating. I do like to try new things and meet new people, but I much prefer experiences that are meaningful. I enjoy long deep conversations with friends, whether to explore the meaning of life or to discuss which Star Trek series is the best. I like to run and bike and hike, and most of the time I prefer these things in good company. When I don't have close friends around to talk about things, I unwind with television and computer games. I have a dry wit and tend to exercise cerebral humor. I do not tend to act goofy, at least in public. I feel as if I have a romantic side that has remained largely unexercised, but I suppose that remains to be seen. For full disclosure, three potential deal breakers in my life are that I am balding (on the back of my head, most photos of me don't show it), I do have a mild stutter, and I have a dog.
24, Columbia, SCIm a Clemson graduate student. I enjoy being an outdoors man and enjoy life as much as possible. I would like to meet a women who I can enjoy these times with.
