I am passionate about life. I enjoy spending time to visit with different people in my community. I am retired and I tend to my garden and lawn, giving much of my garden produce away. I am a very giving person. I enjoy a good meal. I spend my evenings enjoying a movie, I guess I am a hopeless romantic and enjoy movies on Hallmark. I am a Lay Minister at our Catholic Church, an important time during my week. Sincerely, Steve.

I am a widowed for less than a year and spent 54 years with my spouse, who I cared for during her illness and passed at home as we agreed. I retired in 2005 but have taken a part-time job recently to keep me and my mind active. I took the job without complete committment but needed a challenge and it has turned out to be a means of therapy for me. My family has been extremely supportive and have helped me immesley. I love them for being that way as they were taught. I am finding the need to have a person to visit with and share some things with. I would call it a friend. I have a travel trailer and hope to travel full time. It has been a lifetime goal of mine. I love to read, drink coffee, have some wine, watch sports, take pictures, walk in nature, spend at lot of time on the PC and be with my family. I find myself at this time in my life looking for some adventure and doing the things that I always wanted to do. Sort of like completing the "bucket list". Right now I don't feel like I want to be on this adverture alone and feel planning this dream with someone else would be the thing to do. You see I am still healing and am not completely sure that I should be doing this.

I'm an outdoors man. Hunting, fishing, farming, ranching and gardening. I also write stories and have self published a few books, mostly humorous. I like to dance, watch movies, play cards and take short trips exploring new areas. Anything horse related is also of interest as I still own two. 4h horse show and high school rodeo events are fun as I can watch the younger generations doing what I used to do. I like to visit. I have a good reputation in my community and can furnish online credibility as to who I am. 2016 is a leap year. Leap years, the gals are supposed to ask the guys. I sure won't be offended if a gal makes the first contact. I'm open to more friendships. One can always learn something new from another person. Friendship doesn't have to lead to a dating relationship unless both want it that way. Since I'm not a solo long distance traveler, dating anyone further than 150 miles from home is mostly improbably for me. I have a lot of irons in the fire and goals I want to accomplish this year, before i slow down.

I have a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in business administration. I have had both a civilian career and a military career. My civilian career has been in the architectural & engineering field and my military career was in the active duty army and the air national guard. I have worked for the same civilian firm for over 40 years and had 38 years of military service. I have been passionate about both of my careers and along with my family have been very important parts of my life. I am still very active in many military organizations and try to give something back for all the opportunities I have received. I enjoy flying, reading, traveling and doing volunteer work. Many individuals in my civilian and military careers have mentored me along the way and I have learned much from them. The experiences I have had thru my two careers have also shaped who I am and what I stand for.

Passionate about: Pope Francis, I love our leader!!! What a fine example he is for all mankind, a humble life style. The most influential people: I can honestly say the people that have been the most in influential in my life are my two, now adult children. I am so blessed to have my son and daughter, and now grandkids. We have defiantly had some troubles, but their good character and hearts always prevailed. My leisure time: My leisure time activities can be 1 of many things, reading, home projects, going for a walk, exploring for things I haven't seen or done before. Sometimes it's fun to do things with a special person, that seems a little crazy, then laugh about it later. I am from a family of 8 kids, the middle peace keeping fits me pretty well. I do enjoy cooking, including baking and grilling. I think cooking together and trying new receipts can be a lot of fun to. I do like to work on cars and fix things, but I think mostly for the problem solving involved. That is why I still enjoy going to work. I feel like I'm very blessed to have my talent and treasure, and know God wants us to share them with the less fortunate.

I am a compassionate, fun loving person who enjoys walks in the morning/evening. My leisure time is spent in outdoor activities with family, friends, and traveling. Farming is another activity that I really enjoy. My Catholic faith is important to me as I try to attend Mass 1/2 times per week.

I'm not really sure how to even respond...being over 50 you'd like to think it would be about time to write that great novel on myself...yet, while they allow 950 characters there will probably a lot left over for someone else to utilize. I need to be honest; I've been out of the dating scene for some time, I need to be honest; there is a good chance the last time I had a date I more than likely had an 8-Track in my car and an old Nixon/Ford bumper sticker on the chrome. So needless to say the concept of internet dating is extremely alien to me.
