I've been living in the Dallas area for about 10 years now. I'm a Texas boy. Lived in El Paso (don't hold that agaist me), San Antiono and Austin. I've been in the hair industry for 20 years. So I have a passion for the fashion industry. The industry has been good to me. I've been able to travel the world teaching and doing hairshows. Which brings me to another love of mine, travel. Anywhere near water will do me fine. I'm at a good point in mine life. I recently partnerned up with some associates to purchase a franshise. Which has been great but it has left me with little time. So with that said I don't like to waste peoples time and I don't like mine wasted. I'm ready to settle down but I'm not ready to settle. So I do prefer a lady who stays in good shape. That is fit. That's my prefence. I prefer to stay home and make a nice meal with some good wine than go to a club. Now don't get me wrong, I still like to have fun and go out.. I'm a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Love to host viewing partys. Or get togethers by the pool. I also enjoy watching mma. I recently took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. One of the things that was on my bucket list. My faith is a very important thing in my life. I enjoy attending church every Sunday. God is an important part of my life. I hope to have a family sometime soon. I have a neice and nephew that I adore. But can't wait for children of my own...

I'm a stranger to the "dating pool" for the past 25 yrs, and I feel that maybe it is time to stick a foot into it. I live a principled lifestyle; enjoy a wide variety of music from ABBA to George Strait to Frank Zappa. Not into Rap music at all. I am very close with my immediate family - Father, daughter, and a cousin here locally in Dallas & close in spirit with out of town family though we don't get to see one another often. I enjoy sporting events -- hockey and baseball in particular. I enjoy playing golf a couple times a month. I have a much stronger spiritual basis than I do a religious basis, however, I enjoy going to mass every week and being an Usher at the mass I attend. I love that I have a very wide and broad sense of humor as I love to laugh at most anything in life. I refuse to take myself too seriously!!

Chivalry is not dead and through God all things are possible. I've always been Catholic, but was not always the best at following the teachings. I believe things happen for a reason and now, closer to my faith than ever before and the happiest I have ever been. I have a son who is my pride and joy. He's my everything(and yes I am a single father). I don't judge because that is up to God. I have ALWAYS found myself on the short end of the stick in relationships, so right now I guess I am just looking to start fresh and find someone who truly appreciates me and will honor me as I honor them.

In "My Own Words"... Hmm... Let's see... Well, I've decided to RE-WRITE and REPLACE my original narrative... I does not cease to amaze me how USELESS this part of the "Profile" is to the VAST MAJORITY of the users of the online dating sites, it seems that people DO NOT READ, DO NOT REALIZE the MAGNITUDE of the THOUGHT PROCESS that some candidates put forth into writing a little about themselves, and as to INFORM what they have to "offer" as a partner/companion/soulmate... Trying to make their BEST 1st IMPRESSION they could ever come up with... Maybe, it is because NO ONE CARES anymore?!?... Personally, I do not know what the answer is, nor the reasoning for the "disinterest"... "Sign of the times...", I guess... One thing, I can say for myself, is that I DO read your profiles and unlike most other guys, I am not going to "tell you the RIGHT THINGS" so I can appear to match all of your requirements... That's too easy... I would like to believe that I fit your profile(s), but I feel like YOU should be the judge of that... Finally, I would ask you ladies-- please feel free to share with your male-acquaintances, as well --to have the Common Courtesy of acknowledging and replying: we ALL want the MOST HANDSOME, ATTRACTIVE, SMARTEST, FUNNIEST, WELL-MANNERED, EMOTIONALLY/FINANCIALLY SECURE PARTNER we can get our hands on, however for the ones of us-- whom are FAR FROM PERFECTION --we still have some glimmer of hope-- as well as our dignity --that one day, we will eventually find our life-long soulmates, because I firmly believe that no one deserves to live the rest of their lives alone... The feeling of emotional rejection/abandonment is one that I do not wish on anyone... Thank you for reading & reflecting I hope you find that "Special Someone" you are searching for...

I teach (adjunct) philosophy at community college and I'm working on my doctorate. I enjoy sculling on Bachman Lake, fly fishing when I can, which turns out to be not very often, and teaching philosophy. Seinfeld is by far my favorite TV show. I enjoy pets of all kinds so I like both dogs and cats. I'm more reserved than outgoing. I have found that quiet evenings watching television or reading a book or a blog or just listening to music is more enjoyable to me than going out on the town every chance I get, although the latter is a lot of fun too sometimes. My faith is at the center of my life and I am a practicing catholic, but I'm not very pious. I enjoy spending time with my friends talking, playing games, having cocktails or all three, however I don't think that it's necessary to become friends with everyone we are acquainted with. I am a bit selective when it comes to friendships. This makes me very thankful for the friends I do have.

I'm a fairly simple person. Pretty laid back for the most part. Most of my days are spent selling real estate by day, and studying obscure texts in Hebrew by night. Currently, I'm trying to teach myself Greek. I like floating the Guadalupe once a year. I have a pet bobcat named Babou. He lives in the back of the brush at the family farm and enjoys rabbit. I'm convinced he is an amateur French chef, but is humble enough to not gloat about it to guests. He prefers posing for the cameras at night over feeding the fish and firing pistols when I go to visit.

I am ambitious and driven, and enjoy spending time with friends and family. I just moved to TX from FL about 2 months ago, and so far I really like all that the area has to offer. I'm a big baseball, car, and racing fan, and I like live theatre. I also love to travel and am hoping to find someone to enjoy those experiences with. I recently finished grad school, got back to work after graduating, and have now settled in someplace. With all of that done, I'm ready to find that special person to enjoy life with. I am a faithful, passionate, trusting, and trustworthy person that is genuinely concerned for the well being of others, especially those that are closest to me. I am willing to do everything that I can to help those that I love or who are close friends. I have a tough exterior, and my closest friends would say that I am the nicest and sweetest curmudgeon there is :) I also have a very sarcastic streak, but as much as I can dish it out, I love to get it back! Well, thats a little bit about me, don't hesitate to send me a message or ask me questions, I'd love to hear from you. Luke

I love all things that have to do with sports, whether it is playing or watching them. I can't live without my family, friends, or good food. I love a good night out, but also love staying in a cooking a homemade dinner with a good glass of wine.
  • Austen, 19 from Greenville, TX
    19, Greenville, TX
My name is Austen, and I am a 19 year-old Texan Catholic. To me, being part of this online community means discerning my vocation seriously, and I pray that God will lead you and I to where we both need to be! To start, I see myself as a sort of blank slate when it comes to things like relationships. I have never dated before, so I suppose that means that I don't have emotional baggage from other relationships to throw at people at random intervals. Still, I'm new to this, so I hope you don't mind if I carry around a list of questions and maybe a teleprompter should we meet some time. Just kidding. Teleprompters are expensive. In any case, I should let you know beforehand that I consider myself a history and political nerd. I love reading books, although I'm a slow reader. I especially love reading about the founding and frontier generations of the United States, the history of the State of Texas, and the industrial revolution era ruled by individuals like Rockefeller and Carnegie. Politically speaking, I am a Conservative Libertarian firmly in the Ron Paul camp. I could talk your ears off about the inefficiencies of the levels of government as they currently stand, and I love to hear about Free market solutions to hard problems. To put it simply, I believe the proper role of government is to protect life, liberty and property without infringing on those same rights as much as possible. My biggest heroes in life are my God, my father, and my priest. God is always there for me during both the great and sorrowful times of my life. My belief in Him is something gained through personal struggles, and I hope to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. My Dad has always had my back, and has always been ready and willing to listen and to guide me. My priest is very outspoken about the Catholic faith, including those parts in our Traditions that are controversial. He is incredibly Pro-Life and Pro-Family, and he always performs Mass in a reverent and fitting way. Apart from reading, I also love listening to music (Lindsey Stirling is awesome), learning from podcasts, playing a video game or two, writing, and taking quiet walks whenever I have time. Thank you so much for reading though all of this and God Bless! Austen
