I am a divorced father of a beautiful 9 year old daughter. She is the light of my life. We have a basset hound and we like to go to dog agility contests and dog fairs. I have taught public schools for 30 years and was a coach for the first 10 years. I enjoy going to theater and concerts and plays. My Church is very important to me. I am a convert and have found true happiness in the Catholic Church for the past 12 years. One of my personal goals is to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Hello I'm happy that you are reading this! I currently live in Tyler and I'm in charge of the recreation center and intramural sports at TJC. I love sports and my job, but I'm currently looking to move up. Also wanting to eventually move to the Dallas area because that is where my family is located. My friends and family are very important to me, without them I don't believe I am me. My favorite thing to do is spend time playing uncle with my amazing niece and nephews. With that being said I feel like I'm in Dallas every weekend because that's where my family is located. I'm looking for a girl who lets me be me and isn't in pursuit of perfection, because no one is perfect and to expect that would be crazy. I'm looking for a girl who is strong in her faith, cares about her career, and looking for a meaningful relationship. If that sounds like you feel free to message me. I don't know exactly what to put here, so if you want to know anything at all just ask, I hate putting too much in the profile because it doesn't leave much to talk about. But if you like anything you see, don't be afraid to take that chance.

I travel the world on a ship, and when I'm on terra firma you can find me on my ranch or on my Harley. My idea of relaxation is cruising 4-5 hundred miles. I don't get a lot of time ashore so my time is usually very busy. I have 2 grown children; a son who has 3 sons, and I have a daughter who has 1 daughter and 1 son. All of these lovely children live in Mississippi. I am very family oriented; there's 13 of us and I'm #2. I love cooking-been cooking most all my life and really enjoy doing so.Mother taught all her sons to do things that women do-she didn't want her bachelor sons coming home to get a button sewed on a shirt. I'm not a sports kinda guy, you will not catch me glued to no tube-had my fill of sports in high school. I occassionally play golf, for fun, lowest score 103, now quite laughing. I am active in the Knights of Columbus and Knights on Bikes(KC bike organization)

In 2010, I planned a month long hiking trip beginning in March. During the journey, I arrived at Big Bend National Park later in the day than expected and could only secure a barebones lot. That night the temperatures plunged, and I had not prepared my camp properly. The darkness didn't help. I even broke the center pole of my tent. Around midnight, my body temperature fell. No one wants to go through that experience for six hours. At sunrise, I found myself alone in the desert and shortly after that encountered a herd of javelinas. I wrote a short note in my journal about coping with the physical universe. The experience led me to understand why humans need each other. For one, we can't face the physical world alone. It does not cooperate with us. That sentiment never occurred to me before. Modern society coloured my sense of mortality. Within an affluent society my arrogance grew. I headed to the coast and wound up in Port Isabel just north of Mexico. An old friend invited me to stay with him and asked me to ghostwrite a book about day trading. I put off my move to Paris for a year and learned my friend's strategies. I felt compelled to soak up the beauty and excitement of the area. During that year, I rode out two hurricanes. In 2003, I traded the life of a CEO for a full-time job as a writer for a publisher in Cambridge. It allowed me to provide home care for my wife during her recovery from brain surgery. Those dark days taught me about compassion. During that time, I took RCIA and fulfilled a life-long goal of becoming Catholic. Also, I finally penned a bestseller and watched it sell internationally in 14 languages. Sometimes life can look bleak and hopeless, especially on the anxious and mentally rough side of trying to please editors. Then unexpectedly, God sends us a miracle. About today: To some people, I'm not a suitable activity partner. I love the Catholic way. I like quiet days at the beach and late summers in the Rockies as opposed to manic action or thrill seeking. If you like to spend quality time with your partner, in intellectual conversations, weekend sightseeing trips, simple pleasures and such, then we would get along famously. I continue to work and lack the desire to go dancing, shopping at malls or working out at the gym.
